1964 Chevrolet C10 Farm Truck! Amazing Budget Transformation!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

We picked this 1964 Chevy C10 up at a North Dakota farm auction in October! While it did start and run at the auction it was definitely not road worthy! Follow along as we transform this worn out old farm truck into a hot rod worthy of any local car show! This pickup has been SOLD! As always, thanks for watching!

Back in the 1960's, my Dad told me our Government Department of Lands & Forests bought about 50 of these from 1964 to 66, All dark green, and eventually sold them off at auction after their miles got up there. Used to see them on the roads decades after, still clocking along, one tough old truck. A few folks here still call the color Government Green. Cheers

I like it. Farm truck turned cruiser. It ain't gonna be fast, but it'll get ya there every time. Sometimes you just use what's there and enjoy the thing rather than letting it snowball into a full rebuild that may never get done

On my 66 GMC, I kept the 15 inch rims it came with, and put 205/70r15's on the front and 255/70r15's on the rear. The 255's are the same diameter as the 235/75r15's it had so the speedo is even right. That gives it a raked front look like an old 70's muscle car. I like it.

I like the analogy you made when pointing out the worn spots on the door where the guy rested his arm, I could visualize and see how the paint was worn over time. I like the fact that its all there and the truck was treated like a favorite pair of old shoes. You did some nice subtle touches on a budget to make it more desirable. I think the stance is perfect with just the right amount of rake. The asking price is well worth it for a runner with all new brakes and clutch for someone to have and enjoy as is. Good job brother.

The ride quality of these is really insane. you are right about fixing all the body panels on this episode, we can see some of that frustration later on. I hope when the weather clears we get to see what the efforts yield. Be well.

Great episode, Morts! Me personally, I would put the truck back to the stock height and find a 292-6 to put back in the engine bay so it can do “truck” stuff. I don’t want want it to be status symbol like trucks are nowadays. Have a Merry Christmas!

One o my favorite body styles nice truck. 2 wheel drives go down and 4 wheel drive trucks stay the same or go up! That is a really nice truck.I had a 65 C20 camper special. Had to sell it when the wife lost her job. I bought it after the original owner passed. California truck. Still had the build sheet in it. Zero rust. I lived in Stockton and the truck was built in Fremont CA about 80 miles from where I lived. It had a V8 283.

After 13 years of living in SD I can count on one hand how many guys I ran across that were into lowering a truck. Mortske, you my friend are most assuredly in the minority out in that country. Me being a Cali guy, I am in full agreement with you! There are more than enough lifted trucks with Busch Light cans in the back driven by fellas wearing Pit Vipers out there in. Keep helping offset the trend!!
