Such a privilege to be able to see and experience a little of those oh so remote tiny villages and to glimpse how the people lived there, so very far from civilization. I know life will be tough out there without our everyday conveniences but I wonder if it is more peaceful, less stressful, just being in touch with nature and the seasons. I loved seeing the ladies in their elaborately woven outfits just walking along the side of the road.

PS….giving Doris and her child (dog I presumed) a ride was precious! Loved it! ❤

I'll bet the lady and little daughter you picked up in the middle of nowhere thanked their lucky stars you'd come along too. And how fascinating to see the lone flamingo and of course alpacas. You're right in their cuteness. I've also heard that they're more of a herd animal than lama, which hikers I'd known back in the days when living in the Rockies had brought them along as pack animals who also scared away the bears. The landscape is extraordinary. I've only seen the touristy parts of Peru. BTW the wool from Peruvian sheep is sold all over the world. I'm learning knitting. The wool industry is very careful to buy from shepherds that do not mulesing. Of course alpaca fur is bought also. Wool sellers tell where the fur comes from. Here's ur angel. 👼 God bless

What a fantastic trek across the Mountain range. You have stamina and endurance, plus lots of patience. You are so adventurous Nick and Mathilde! We drove overland on poor dirt roads yesterday to get to my land. I thought the roads would be better, Nope. I thought of you guys as we were navigating the different road conditions. First gear going back up rocky two tracks in my Subaru Outback. Good car. Hands tight on the wheel and sitting very upright.😊

These flamginos are called Andean flamingos and they live there around the Andes, making them native to the area.. but i know it always surprises people when they see these birds out there in Peru ;) when you make it to the Chliean highlands and salt lakes you are gonna be surprised how many more flamingos you are going to see.. they live up there in the thousands and are another subspecies again.. amazing, right?

Really beautiful video and drone footage. It is an amazing country that I have called home for the last 7 years moving from the US. I have found the people of the highlands differ greatly from prople here in Lima with their generosity and spirit and I hope you have discovered that as well. In the Ayacucho regions, there is a hidden volcano and next to this is one of the most beautiful lakes in Peru. Laguna ( or Lago ) Parinacochas . It has low shallow waters and birds are walking around. Also some Inca ruins in the Area. Try the beaches too, richest ocean in the World, due to Humboldt Current. Paracas & Islas Ballestas, but as you are in your own 4X4 try Reserva San Fernando. Where we can see Condors flying next to the Ocean

Guys you should film more to people from Peru don't be scared we already know you you both are lovely and doing it great but get the native all in the camera don't be afraid of filming them they are so different in south America there are many cultures in the different countries all of them native and friendly. We agree that it would be ideal. But we find very impolite to arrive and throw our camera in the face of people so we try but not so often. We would hate it if someone was doing that to us so we try not to do that to others. It is a hard balance to find

Had to stop at 20:42 and thank you for putting in some cumbia! Love it! Also while I'm at it, I was definitely tapping my toes to the music with the female vocalist earlier. Very catchy to go with the beautiful landscape. Now I've finished. The guitar music at the end was gorgeous too. Can you tell I really notice the music you choose! Lol. Alpacas are so cute and friendly. Love them. I loved seeing the small villages and people living there. So interesting to see how they live in that place. Great video!

Asa alawys, you guys show us amazing places. Really beautiful people in that area of the mountains. And talking about mountains, I don't know if you observed one specific thing about them. They are very old. These parts of the world are very old. The mountain peaks, are not peakes, but almost round, or many are flat. The weather and time eroded them. That is a sign, I think, of a long age. All and all, really beautiful valleys and people too.

Hey friends, I'm Edgar, I see that they went around the Huayhuash mountain range, maybe as far as Oyon, they would have passed through Cajatambo, very nice. It is one of the most beautiful trekking routes. Those are little traveled routes off the main roads, sometimes they are under maintenance and you are given turns to pass. But they are routes that can take you through impressive landscapes. The pachamanca is highly recommended, there are several types of meat and native potatoes, a very good combination of flavors. I think the best are from the central highlands but each region has its own. Sometimes the people on those trails are not very commercial and that means that you can find spontaneous, cordial and very attentive people.

@@NextMeridianExpedition It's great that you enjoyed it, I see that you are going to places that tourists don't know, if you are already going to the south I recommend something, I hope you have enjoyed the starry night desert, it is magical. If you can, visit the Kalkaterra tunnel route through Abancay, towards Choquequirao. Also the Saywite complex, Cusco is also endless, Santa Tereza is the edge of the jungle, go to Cocalmayo, Sacred Valley, Ausangate, Paucartambo and its surroundings, it has many sites and so on. to the south much more... The Colca canyon in Arequipa etc... Good luck with everything, hopefully we will see each other again.

@@tusafilms7286 Hello of course, you have a great trip. This is a very diverse country and with many routes, you want to see mountains, jungle, coastal desert... It also depends on how much time you have. February and March are usually rainy months, although the countryside becomes very beautiful, so be prepared. To the north I can recommend Cajamarca and the Amazon with some national parks and conservation areas if you like that, Cajamarca will be celebrating carnivals from the end of February, further down the Huaylas alley are the snow-capped mountains, an area with a lot of tourist service and rural towns, If you want something more mountainous, the lagoons of llanganuco, high pass, lagoon 69 and going down to the east of the mountain range towards Yanama, have a very nice hotel in a rural town. Then the valley towards Chavín de Huantar with the museum and the underground complex, one of the oldest in America, if you like hard trekking you have the Huayhuash mountain range, cuts and secondary roads or return to the coast, the center, Junín, Pasco, Ayacucho Apurímac Cuzco further south, the coastal desert of ICA, Paracas. You are in HUGE country territory now. The countries of Central America must seem tiny by comparison. Love how you take the out-of-the-way routes. Clearly the locals think you are mad. Looking forward to learning what Albo’s new upgrades will be - I’m guessing crampons and a hard hat.

May I ask, what happened to the dogs that were with the two cute passengers of yours, weren’t they there? I will never be able to see places you travel. So sad, it hurts. When I was young, I was told I lived my previous life somewhere in South America. I am privileged to see that special part of the world through your eyes. Stay safe! May the road stay kind to you!

Omg! Mathilde s dream was always to discover Yemen and had tickets to go the exact year the conflict started so I cancelled. But deep down I know I ll go one day. I hope you are well, and one day we can drive to Yemen 🫶
