We made it to Bolivia (on a barge) - EP 81

A mountain of every color, the highest navigable lake in the world, new friends, a boat crossing and life in a remote Bolivian valley.
Last week we went to Machu Pichu. This week we complete our last days in Peru and head to the Bolivian border. At the same time sad to leave beautiful Peru and excited to discover Bolivia, country number 24 on this World Tour journey. And it did not disappointed.
Jump onboard this journey through this legendary border on the lake Titicaca and as we discover a new country.
To be sure you do not miss what is coming up next on this world tour journey, subscribe to the channel.
Until next week, take care!

Beautiful video! It seems that you are going to have so many friends all over the globe when you eventually finish this journey. How wonderful. And someone(s?) has really nice taste in music!🎶 As astounding as the rainbow mountain is (wow!) I wonder what that lack of snow means for the water needs of the local people.

Epic view from Rainbow Mountain - especially with the sleeping dog - "Huh? Yes, looks nice; I'm taking a nap." Climate change has revealed many things previously concealed, just one of many consequences of the current environmental situation. The barge crossing with the drone view is 'calendar' picture worthy! (but how to choose. You have so many mind-blowing pictures from your travels.) Altitude effect - I was 13 the first time I went up Pikes Peak in Colorado (4300 m). Traveled from St. Louis, MO (142 m). I almost puked. Fortunately, we had enough quarters to feed the oxygen machine until I stabilized. You've been traveling in higher altitudes for a while now and have a chance to adjust a bit.

I had a thought today that your trip is like life. In the beginning, it all lays before you. You have no idea what will happen, but you have to do it. As you travel, you have experiences and meet people. Places come and go as do people. Once you pass the places, you cannot go back. You may never see the people again either. You are on a one way trip, just like life. There are a lot of lessons for life in the trip. The main one is to try to live in the moment and appreciate what you have now, whatever it is. Second, there will be challenges and low spots. Just like life too. Take them in stride and don't let them get you down. Work through them and more high points will come. Above all, keep yourself healthy. Eat right. Eat whole food, not sugar. Do not be too much of a risk taker either. This is an ultra marathon. Steady as she goes will get you to the end. And be there for your mate 24/7. Mutual support and and love will make it all so good. I have one question though. When it is all said and done, how are you going to top this? Do another one and another, like Itchy Boots?

That is so true !!!! 😍 never thought about this like that but love it! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. After we will see! Depends what life brings us: if we are lucky enough to be able to keep travelling there are many other places to go to. If not we see ourselves settling in a new country and just discover it while working there over several years. But that is far away so things could change so many times

@@NextMeridianExpedition As you know, I am up there in age now, but even when I was 25, I don't think I could climb up one of those mountains. I had strong legs. Once biked 700 miles in 2 weeks, but I'm sure the altitude would have gotten to me. Even driving around at 4000 meters, I'm sure I would have a splitting headache and feeling like I need more air. I heard it takes a month to acclimate yourself to the thin air. Your body has to make more red blood cells. Or you can just get a couple of bags of red blood cells and not wait

Just catching up on your videos. I couldnt watch for a couple of weeks. Is lake titicaca clean and clear? The city on the shore was pretty. The rainbow mountain was beautiful. Its crazy to think those layers were deposited horizontally and now they have been lifted to vertical! Alpaca are so cute. Are alot of them you see domesticated or wild? Seeing you hike all that attitude makes me feel tired!

Alpaca are domesticated! In the next videos you’ll see vicuñas that are wild. The water is not very clear, not sure about pollutions necessarily but it is just rather dark bottom I think. Probably good water far from cities lthe lake is huge

We will be going but not the whole country just a few zones. We met a few travellers who passed by but it is true most travellers stick to the mountain side. I think it is due to diversity of landscapes in particular
