Just getting in to losk ark and this guide helps alot. Ty. Ive always been confused on how engravings work. There is so much rng in this game from honing, quality, stat rolls, cards... i think it will take me a year of grinding everyday to get to brel raid 😂

This is an extremely user unfriendly system. You get engraving recipes early on during leveling and the game expects you to know to save them all up? I used all of the few green ones I had on random abilities at lvl 30 thinking to unlock all of them eventually anyway. Have I just screwed my endgame progression?

I feel like this is the intention. Confuse players, they use the stuff wrong, and are stuck grinding to make up the difference. I really wish this game didnt have 400 different systems with half of them seemingly just fluff and the others being make or break for endgame.

@@Futuran123 I’m past lvl 50 and still get green books, blue books so no need to worry. Just start grinding ignite and reflux build. You also can buy the books @ the auction house

I absolutely hate systems like this where they give you a ton of limited and extremely valuable class stuff like engravings and then never ever tell you how important they really are unless you are a veteran of Korean MMO game design. Either way, thank you for the video because engravings are still confusing as all hell lmao.

agreed. Its super frustrating. I opened a chest and selected all out attack for all of them. Didnt know i couldnt use them all and that i'd need to use blue rarity. Wish you could exchange them at an npc for another one of that same tier.

One question though...the Books unlock Engravings and Engravings are shared across all characters on your account on the same server...so why shouldn't I just use all the books and unlock everything thereby unlocking everything for all my characters?

Because they let you choose which ones you unlock first depending on your choice. So ideally you'd pick the ones for your *main* or the toons you're currently playing

If engravings are unlocked for all characters when you unlock them, why does it matter which character reads the book? That's where I'm getting lost. Wouldn't all your characters' unlocked engravings be the same?

@@bl568 Because there are limited amounts of these books from fixed rewards. So the ones that let you choose, you should be only picking the ones you need. When you get random books, by all means, learn them and sell the extras.

@@bl568 you need like 20 books to level up each tier. Makes no sense really. They should be called pages to make a book.

Even though, I've watch this before I reach the engraving quest, I still committed a mistake. I should have double check the engraving prices in the auction house and see which engraving was expensive thus more valuable to get first. Your account is given one time quest which will give you 5 class engraving book and 20 combat engraving of your choice. And I just used that free books into the ether drop which is only valued as 1 gold in the market!

Yeah when we were in the PTR and RU clients, this wasn't the case. This was possibly part of the KR quality of life changes that are present in our version, so that was our mistake. We had both gotten our class engravings a few times now, but just today I got one for another class myself. Will pin a comment about this.

so if i wanted grudge engraving, would i want to go for max 12 points from all books or get it level 1 or 2 and just get the rest of the points from accessories and stones

(Correction?) In abyssal dungeons you're able to get class engravings for other classes you're not playing. I got Gunslinger and Deadeye engravings on my Gunlancer.

Is there any reason to level engravings that you or an alt won't use? For instance with cards you should ideally level all of them for the permanent stats right? Even if you don't equip them? But it doesn't look like there's a system like that for engravings?

Question : when should I, or when can I expect to reach tier 2 class engraving?

Ok so, correct me if I'm wrong but are stone of birth sole existance is to complement the imprints? If one of my engraving (for the imprint) is missing 4 or 5 engraving points to complete a level, you can use the stones to get that level for your imprints?

Are all fo the guilds going to be on East coast servers? When selecting a guild i didnt see anything about dedicated West coast guilds. It would make things a lot easier on most of us if there were since most East coast will be running quests and things while us West coast people are still at work.

Guys 1 question about engraving stones ( dunno if he said it in the video), can the engraving stones have Class engravings? Like reflux and ignite for sorc for example? Or only the neutral engravings?

How does explosive expert work? I read it as the ability to use two or more slots, in the combat/support slots, for grenades, but that is not the case.

Should I only use the engraving recipes for the 1st and 2nd slot of engraves? Since the other engrave stats will come from accessories and stones.

7:00 I'm now confused. Where does investment banking come into this? So, the engraving underperforms the investment target, and now must pay me? In what currency?

Not sure if it’s a visual bug but I hovered over my blue engraving class recipe book and it said I can progress the “1/20”with the common green ones ? according to your video 20/20 green = 3 points , 20/20 blue equals another 3 point which brings it to 6 points total ? which makes me wonder if I can unlock the blue recipe book and fill it 20/20 with the green common recipe books ?

Negative. When you hover over your books, they are showing how much they advance an engraving of that tier. 1 blue book will be 1/20 of tier 2 for that engraving. Same goes for every other rarity. The 3 gems in a tier come from a full 20/20 engraving of that tier.

Does anyone know.. if its worth keeping lower gear on to keep a r3 class engraving intact? I currently have rank 3 mayhem on my zerker. Thats like a flat 18% dmg increase. But Im giving up a few hundred strength and other stats to keep that. I could break the class engraving and only have rank 1, but a few hundred more stats.

how do we get more engravings than the classic luterra quest etc which gives you 20 points
