Looting a Piglin Bastion Remnant! ▫ Minecraft Survival Guide S3 ▫ Tutorial Let's Play [Ep.32]

Ойындар

The Minecraft Survival Guide Season 3 continues in Minecraft 1.20!
This tutorial will show you how to find and raid a Bastion Remnant - risky but rewarding Nether structures that are home to Piglins and their angry cousins, the Piglin Brutes!
First, I explain why I'm going to look a little different for a few episodes, since my home internet recently lost a fight with a hedge trimmer. I also recap a few additions I've made to the ongoing automated storage room project!
After that, we gear up to ride a Strider - Mojang's answer to everyone who wanted boats that work in lava. We saddle up, warped fungus in hand, and ride out in search of a Bastion Remnant - then we hit the jackpot.
Stepping off into a Warped Forest, we discover a Treasure Bastion, filled with loot chests and dangerous mobs. Our gold helmet will protect us from piglins, but it won't stop the Piglin Brutes, so I cover a few strategies for dealing with them!
Eventually we successfully raid the Bastion - taking note of the Magma Cube spawner at the centre - and come away with the Pigstep music disc, the Snout banner pattern, a Netherite Upgrade smithing template, our first Ancient Debris, and a full Netherite ingot!

Best of luck with the Alexlriffs recordings! Keep up with you has been fun, so far. Or trying to as you are a very efficient builder! Excited to see where you take the storage system build. I wonder if this is the same Treasure Bastion that I found on this seed? The Treasure Bastion was found while digging a tunnel back from a Woodland Mansion and a random Trail Ruin site. The former which I found by using a map traded from the cartographer in the acacia village. This version of Minecraft is really exploration focused so this particular map seed has been a blast. Got a little lost on the way to that Manor but found a decent sized Mooshroom Island and two nice coral reefs, too. Plus all the jungle and swamps means that you have some insurance on getting all the best villager types in the experimental villager re-balance.

You've inspired me to make my first auto sorted storage system. I've had my survival world since late 2021 and my endgame storge has just been a fair amount chests with sulker boxes inside the chest for bulk items which has served me well but I've grown out of it. Your storage video a few days ago gave me the push to finally build a proper storage system. I've dug out a basement underneath my house and I have built all the chests and redstone with 500+ double chests worth of storage (Including barrels and manual chest storage in the corners). All I have left to do is figure out how i want to sort it and add the filters which is going to be tedious (The last 10% is going to take the longest). Thanks for the great videos Pix!

So a few days ago I raided a bastion for the first time on a server with a couple friends, and even that was scary as hell - One time I got surprised by a piglin brute and nearly died. Even with good diamond gear I went down to one heart within a few seconds and had to stay in a panic box for a while to get my irl heart to calm down haha xD I honestly doubted if I could raid a bastion alone on my solo world without dying, but your tips in this video were great! I never would've thought to use a lava bucket or hoppers, so thank you! :D That should make the whole thing a bit more manageable, so I might actually try to do it soon-ish.

It's pretty easy to create a resource pack to fix your skin while offline, and I've done it soooo many times in the past. 1. First you create folders with the following names nested into each other : assets\minecraft\textures\entity 2. and inside the last entity folder, you paste your skin file as a png and rename it to steve. you then create a copy of the same skin file and rename it alex. now you should have steve.png and alex.png inside the entity folder. 3. once your done with that, you create a txt file with notepad with the following text : { "pack": { "pack_format": 9, "description": "Custom Skin" } } 4. Then you save the text file in the same folder as the "assets" folder and rename it to "pack.mcmeta". (just make sure you're changing the txt file extension to mcmeta instead of saving the file as pack.mcmeta.txt. if you do that, it simply won't work) 5. Finally you use a software like winRar or similar to create a zip of the files together. you do this by selecting the "assets" folder and the "pack.mcmeta" file at the same time by holding control and then right click and say add to archive, and select zip (don't archive as .rar, it won't work) you can name the zip file whatever you want, it really doesn't matter. Now you have your very own texture pack that you can move inside the "resourcepacks" folder under "%appdata%/.minecraft" that you can enable inside the game to have your skin show up even without being online! Looking forward to seeing your skin back next episode!!!

My way of looting bastions is to snipe as much piglin brutes as I can with my bow before I enter the structure. When entering the big part, I go from top to bottom by continuing to snipe every piglin I see. (Simply because I don't want to bother with them in any case) And how I open those chests in the first part is simply digging under them and looting the chest from below. They don't realise you opened it that way

What would be good is on hardcore mode, the brutes have a 10% chance of spawning in enchanted netherite armour or carrying a netherite axe enchanted with Smite IV. This would encourage brave players to engage these dangerous mobs in hand to hand combat. Using looting however does not increase the chance of netherite drops, this would remain 10% and there is also a 50% chance any netherite items would be cursed as well, just to switch it up a bit.

If you don't already have your wifi fixed, it might be helpful to note that many phones can use USB wifi tethering, where you connect to the wifi through your phone by plugging it into your computer's USB port. I hope this helps if you don't have your internet back yet.

I spent several hours attempting to do this and concluded that, for whatever reason, my PC was unable to accept usb tethering. Perhaps it just didn’t have the right drivers installed because it didn’t have a wifi card - but any guidance I could find online for how to set it up pointed to settings that did not exist on my PC

I always assumed that the Piglins took over the structures of a more advanced society. Lightning turns pigs into Zombified Piglins in the overworld, so perhaps lightning in the Nether creates Piglins. The Bastions may have been built by the same people who built the ancient cities. Perhaps they accidentally created the Piglin race and the Wither to deal with them. They thought they were making a Nether version of the iron golem, but created a monster. They fled the Nether to escape the Wither, leaving the Piglins to occupy the Bastions. I assume that the Wither Skeletons and Blazes are the original inhabitants of the Nether. The ancient people built cities deep underground to try to escape detection by the Wither and eventually summoned the Warden out of desperation. The Warden killed the Wither, breaking the ancient city portal in the process. The residents of the ancient cities became trapped by the warden and the skulk machines/creatures. They were hunted down until they all died. 34:28 I swear I thought you were about to say that the real treasure is the friends we made along the way...

When my son and I took on the Piglin Bastion, we built a bunch of boats around the boarder of the bastion and then let them get mad at us. When they came at us, they got stuck in the boats. Then we went around them and looted the bastion.

this sounds.. so strange to me. I KNOW I've played minecraft offline without internet connection on multiple occasions and I always had my own skin, no issue. but that was a few years back, so maybe something changed since then?.. still, I'm baffled you weren't able to use your skin without access to the internet. :o

The last time I raided a bastion I just went in "Guns Blazin" style, sniping pigs & swinging my sword in panik and I somehow didn't die... To each their own methods I guess 😅
