You can restrict internet access on an iPhone. I manage my kids screen time and internet is paused on their electronics at bedtime. Parents need to take the time to learn about parental control features if they insist on their kids having smart devices.

A step parent has every right to discipline "someone else's" child. When taking on the role as a parent, that's part of the territory. Step parents aren't there just for decoration, and children should respect their authority, just as they should with others who regularly discipline "someone else's child" such as school teachers, police officers, bosses, etc. And from the sound of it, this child needs all the discipline he can get...did you not hear the predicament he's in because of his mother's lackluster approach to discipline? Dad and step mom seem controlling so it could have been as simple as that. They might have put him in the program as a ways to control him. The mom might be against it. Notice they also never said what kinda program it is. For all we know the kid got caught looking at lgbtqai+ things and the dad put him in a conversion program. That's was my immediate thought, especially when the mom said it was only "certain websites" he couldn't go on.

That mother should not have let the son have the phone period. That being said, the father does not need additional custody beyond the 50/50 with that stepmother involved. She is very immature and craves drama. Dad needs to ensure he's also protecting his son from her meddling.

I believe the evil stepmother took a hammer to that phone. I’ve tired to run over my iphone before by backing up over it. The screen didn’t even crack so I know they are lying on that one. The father needs to stick up for his son cause that woman is a Karen in a wheel chair. I am kinda curious thought what the kid was looking at that was so bad that now he can only be on the internet supervised, no phone, and now had to be in therapy for it. Also people if you are still paying 50-60 dollars for one line that is crazy! I have Visible service and it comes with unlimited text, data, and hotspot for $25 a month. You can even buy old or the newest phone from them or they will send you out a SIM card to put in your current phone. I’ve been with Visible for 7 years now they have great service.

Im curious as to the reason why the 15 year olds internet access is prohibited. Some kind of criminal behavior?

This is how you know JM is so out of touch with the real world. $50 is the normal monthly cost for a cellphone line. The new wife is annoying. She needs to mind her beeswax...and yes, the defendants purposely destroyed the phone. While they may want to bring this up in family court they may want to keep it hushed as they this behavior of them destroying the phone will have the judge thinking that they may not be the best choice for full or 50% custody.

The plaintiff clearly states her bill is $291.00/m and she has 5 lines on the plan. $50/m for his line adds up. Not sure why that wasn’t clicking for JM.

Judge Judy would have told that other woman to shut her mouth and stay out of it. He will always be their child together and needs to get over the fact that her new husband had a family before her.

The son obviously has some sort of serious issues and if he is looking at sites, obviously serious illegal things. He shouldn't have a phone with internet access at all. People acting like she can't go in a room in their house, just bc it's a teenagers room it doesn't mean she can't go in that room. That teenager is still a kid, that's in serious trouble, there is no privacy or anything in a parents house.

Guess the haters on the stepmom are not thinking, the kids was on internet, unsupervised and looking at stuff he should have been looking it. She did nothing wrong.

why can't he have a phone? and why didnt they just restrict internet. He can listen to music without total internet access.. What's going on with this kid?

He picks them because he can run over them. New wife is full of drama and clearly enjoys it and antagonizing the ex. Little does she know, she got the same man he was to the ex, and her replacement may be closer than she thinks.

Destroying the phone was WAY beyond what should have been done. They should have just taken it from him, turned it off, and put it in a safe place until his mom picked him up.

Idk what the son did where he’s not allowed internet but it seems serious. I think the dad is just really concerned and his wife is just backing him up a little aggressively but seems like that’s the family dynamic.

The new wife doesn’t like his kids. You can tell that and her busting in the room shows that and the fact she doesn’t care to build a positive relationship with him. wtf is she busting in his room! I feel for the kids because if dad gets full custody she’s going to treat them bad.
