What do extractions cost? What do surgical extractions cost?

Tooth extraction costs about a couple of hundred dollars. I hate the term regular vs. surgical extraction as they are all surgical really... I personally always do some bone grafting after my surgeries so I charge for that as well. I would say nowadays the average tooth extraction costs between $200 to $600 per tooth. If it's a wisdom tooth it costs more. Wisdom teeth may be impacted, means they are trapped under the gums and jawbone, which makes it more difficult to remove. Impacted wisdom teeth usually cost $400 to $1000 to remove, depending on difficulty. Unfortunately, there are usually 4 of them that may have to come out so it can get quite costly.

Hi Aloha. I'd say that on average all-on-4 takes about a year from start to finish. Are there variations? Absolutely! There are some clinics equipped with their own lab that finish the work in just a few weeks or a few months. I actually know of a few dentists that perform all-on-4 in a single day, but that is very rare and it's only for select cases that qualify (most don't). The more competent dentists usually finish your treatment in about 6 months if there's no tooth removal involved, or a year if there is tooth removal and bone grafting involved. The longest case that I know of? A patient had all-on-4 done at a dental school clinic and it took 5 years (I know right, that's like 8% of your life just waiting for teeth!) So yeah, all-on-4 is a long process and does require a substantial time and financial commitment.

Hi Aloha. Sure you can. I've had plenty pf patients who do all-on-4 for just the top, or the bottom, or snap-ons for just the bottom, etc. Talk to your dentist about your needs and come up with a design and solution that works best for you and take it from there.

Do you do all on 6 with three bridges....?

Hi Aloha. You can certainly do all-on-6 using 6 implant screws and 3 bridges. This is an excellent treatment to replace all of your teeth. You place two implants for the right side, two implants for the anterior, and two more implants for the left side. Once healed, you make 3 separate bridges to sit on each pair of implants (it's best to make separate bridges to reduces curvature forces and repair headaches should they ever break). The main reason we don't do as many all-on-6 is due to lack of jawbone (and of course costs!) Very few toothless patients have sufficient jawbone to receive 6 dental implants in their current condition. Most require extensive bone grafting to prepare themselves for 6 implants. In contrast, almost all toothless folks have enough jawbone to place 4 dental implants. This means that you usually have to spend an additional year and tens-of-thousands doing the bone grafting necessary to perform all-on-6 over all-on-4. Is it worth it? It depends. If you have the time, money, and patience, and you're a candidate, then go for all-on-6. The vast majority of patients settle for all-on-4 since the end-results are relatively similar.
