    Thanks for the info! Just had my upper and lower done 4 days ago. 2 days after I had massive liver blood clots forming around my bottoms I had to go in immediately when I showed them the photo. They took my bottom implant out and stitched the tear up with 4 more stitches. Except for that little issue it hasn’t been that bad. Swelling is worse than the pain to be honest. The teeth acting like a bandaid. Glad to hear I’m only healing in my temporary’s and we work on my zirconia teeth fitting properly in 4-6 months. Everyone wants good results now but I’ve learned this process takes at least a year too get all figured out between surgery and follow up appointments but I’ve seen the end results multiple times and I’m looking forward too the day I get my zirconia teeth. And praying for now issues from hear on out. I’d highly recommend this procedure over dentures everyone I talk too that has dentures wishes they would have done implants.

    Mine is only on top. When I had my all on 4 the doctor made me wear a regular pallet held denture over the implants for 90 days before I could have my temporary loaded onto my implants. I believe that made my implants heal & fully integrate before loading causing it to be a much more sturdy & strong setup from first load.

    Binge watching your videos. This is such good information to know! I am only one week out from the surgery and since there is a lot of swelling initially and it gradually reduces I can already feel more space and can tell even with drinking and air flow. I was wondering why it was feeling looser and now I know! And it’s also comforting to know i didn’t do anything wrong. I also totally agree about the places that give final teeth right from the start. That has seemed so insane to me as I’ve researched the surgery over the past year. I see so many TIkTok people who get those kind and they make it look so appealing and it misleads people into thinking that is the best option when in reality going home with the final set is crazy. I feel in much better hands knowing that I can make changes aesthetically and keep adjusting with my dentist on how the final set look and feel. Plus like you said initially you’ll be swollen and things will change with gums and bones over six months so what you leave with isn’t going to be at all what you want six months down the line let alone all the problems that can happen because of those changes.

Way back of one side doesn’t fit as tight as the other. I’ve had it relined slightly which helped a lot but its still not as tight as the other side. Can it be fixed?

    After the implants have been placed with a 6 month wait, are the abutments and the final prosthesis fitted all at once?

  • @northtexasdentalsurgery

    @northtexasdentalsurgery

    2 жыл бұрын

    your abutments are actually seated at the day of surgery. those shouldn't change unless you want to reangulate an abutment. this would be done to reduce some bulk of the material

    Hi doctor. I’m in Iowa I like your honesty I have I have conus implants on the bottoms but a 3D printed upper denture. It’s like a hockey puck. I guess I’m wondering if you know a great dentist like yourself that you’d recommend for permanent secured denture in my area. My bottoms were about $25000. About how much would “ all on 4” cost for the top. Thank you.

  • @northtexasdentalsurgery

    @northtexasdentalsurgery

    hey barney. unfortunately i don't know anybody at all in iowa. pricing honestly depends on how much of a pain a case is, how little bone, etc. we charge anywhere from $17.5 to $21.5k on average for an all on 4. pricing depends on the material of your final prosthesis you want. i do so many All on 4 surgeries that i dont charge more if you need more bone grafting, etc. unless you're an extremely severe case where you've been missing your teeth for like 40 years and have literally no bone. i hope that helps to figure out how to price out your all on 4

  • @northtexasdentalsurgery

    possibly not. if your implants are angled then they would have to do angled abutments to try to straighten out the way the implants draw out of your mouth into the snap on denture. it may be possible. I'm guessing prob not. why do you want to change to snap on?

    These require surgery for placement. There is risk of implant failure. My mom has five individual implants for five of her teeth. Four of them failed the fifth one got infected. The dentist charged full price each time they had to be done again. The standard treatment plan for replacing missing teeth is dentures. I had all of mine pulled in February. Hopefully in year I will have dentures. I need to save some money for them. I bought face masks for when I go places. Eating my diet that I was eating when I still had teeth since the end of March. I can’t have anything crunchy but having no trouble eating. I had hamburger and French fries for lunch on Tuesday. Small bites and eating slowly. Is working for me. Look at what you can afford and go from there.
