As a ableton live user this is a dream come true I always found it frustrating to use ios apps as daw main but with Loopy Pro I can finally give it another shot thank you

i've spent the last three weeks trying to find something to replicate a microcosm because i cant drop almost $800 on a new pedal right now. i stumbled across this loopy app as i've never heard of it, SO GOOD. and the ability to use a midi pedal (guitarist at heart) and use other ipad vsts is fantastic. now to find a decent pad controller. thanks for your great work mate, cant wait for this to hit MAC aswell

I’ve been forced to take a break from online content creation activities involving my own music projects because my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I used to stream music production on Twitch (Ableton is my DAW of choice), and sadly, caregiving duties do not allow for much time on a PC. I started messing around with Loopy Pro on my iPhone about two weeks ago. It’s incredible. I feel like it’s gonna take a while for me to master just how powerful the app is, but I’m already thinking about investing in an iPad so that I can use it to its fullest potential. This one app is making me want to purchase an iPad. I don’t know whether or not to thank you or curse you for that 😂 but I am 100% grateful for the opportunity to keep busy on my cell phone while she’s getting chemo. I’m not exactly sure your intent was to create an app to help someone to cope with a parent’s cancer diagnosis, but that’s exactly what you’ve done, and I am beyond grateful for it.

Hi - Great Video, and amazing software. I want to use Loopy for live performances with my guitar; which will often not even use loops (sorry). SooOOoo I want to switch between "presets" where a preset is a set of fx (AUV3 plugins). Can you make a video showing that?

We've spoken recently, and since then I have barely been able to keep my hands off this thing! I've infected the fb group with my questions and mediocre performances, but hey, it's been 6 days. Now to this automation. I'm really looking to try and do a similar thing to Elise Trowe, still with keys, but more guitar heavy, and with pads instead of acoustic drums, and I think this is the clip. If not, please can someone point me to the correct tutorial? Thanks again Michael. Legend.

I assign "colors" to each instrument and use "scenes" for song parts. If the timeline could be grouped by "color" and "scene," I think it would make it easier to arrange songs. Right now the loop tracks are arranged vertically on the time line, but my default has 50 lines (10 instruments x 5 scenes), so it's difficult to arrange a song from loops with a list of them.

This looks like a godsend. I have struggled with using Ableton productions on ipad using launchpad for ios . I have to edit via blocswave and the sound quality is not good ( compressed?) I need a portable rechargeable set up. IPAD is ideal for battery life etc and your product looks amazing. my issue has always been how do i get audio from a PC (ableton) environment into an ios device.? I have ordered a camera connector to hopefully pair up with my zoom H2n mic recorder . MY experience with using the ipad mic has been disappointing but it may be due to the processing of sound by the Ampify products (Blocswave). I have your original Loopy HD and managed to get some wav files onto ipad via some sharing app. Is there any way to export ableton set files into your templates or do I need ot build them manually using the individual wav files. . ( eg Blocswav allows export a ableton live set ) . I hope to use your product live with prepared loops and augment this with live recording using a condenser mic . I had given up on the dream until I saw this video .... I am amazed at what you have achieved and how far removed it is from your first product ..yet... is still recognisable . well done ......my chains...... Mic > presonus interface > Ableton > Ipad > Blocswave to Lauchpad for ios (cumbersome poor quality) and now perhaps Zoom H2n mic> Ipad > Loopy Pro> ...hopefully light portable and good quality ...dare I dream?

Can't wait for 1.1 just to move completely to Loopy Pro, I have been exporting scene made in cubase and loopy pro and placing them in Loopy HD so I can play reverse parts. It's backwards thinking I know, but I really miss being able to reverse parts, and 1.1 will warm my heart and speed up my workflow, because it was so fast with Loopy HD, I want the same for Loopy Pro.

Thank you! Yep, you can do that with a play follow action on one of the clips in each scene (I recommend turning off time-stretching for the best audio fidelity there, assuming your clips are already at the correct tempo for each scene)

Is there way to introduce chance and probability for triggering loops similar to Ableton follow actions?

Michael!(think that 70’s show) These are good. Its cool how many different ways there are to work with Loopy Pro, I want to learn them all. Since it’s related to the setup I want to ask about comping, had thoughts about it lately? My dream setup is to use a launchpad with the config you showed and jam untill I get a part down, then move to the next

Michael… I’m seeing on the website that a Mac OS version is under works; I guess that since most computers don’t have touch screens, it’s an obstacle…. I wish loopy pro for Mac existed in a form that just accepts mapped controls from midi controllers. See, I have tried loopy Pro on my iPhone using an audio interface through a powered USB hub, but I get a groundloop, because that hub is not designed to run high-quality audio. If Loopy Pro were available for the Mac OS, I could connect to the powered USB ports on the back of the computer, where I have never had any kind of grounding issue. Any thoughts?

Yep, you can do that! Easiest way is probably a follow action on one of the clips (on play), with an action to set the tempo

Can I connect Ableton push 1 to control the loops?

This suggestion may be a bit off of the line of development for LP, but it would be amazing and infinitely useful if somehow LP could offer an "Import Ableton file" function that would auto-magically load the clips in the Ableton file into a corresponding LP layout similar to the one shown here (but obviously different in specifics for each Ableton file imported).

Hy bro. I was curious if the “Stay in scene” button was implemented or is in the backlog? With that and Comping I will finally be able to have my workflow. If its not there yet maybe they could be implemented together after midi recording in an update together, that would be huge. Kind regards(:

I have created some ableton performances and want to use the Loop Pro app to perform in a live setting. Do you have nay easy recommendations how to get ableton live sets exported into Loopy Pro ? Do I have to use an imac or ios device or can I use my windows PC to work in this way? Conversely if I get soeting recorded in Loopy pro - I need to be able to transfer it to my ableton live for further processing. . I cannot work out whether this is limited by the software,(loopy) the type of laptp (window or ios) or the audio interace itself. ( I have audioibox two by presonus) . Help !

You made something absolutely awesome. There is a glitch when I use copy paste to add a string to the template using ad (alphabetically) to produce subsequent pages. It’s is the copy paste feature when I made a template for song sets. I pasted, clicked on B it is great except for the edit feature. Is it supposed to be a mini me like that? It makes sense if the first page, original template used is working fine. I can used it if that is not a glitch. A folder placed in projects launcher would work if that is how you planed it, 5 groups of 10. And makes sense, sorry if I seem ignorant only used it for 3-4 days. 7 days is not enough to find how usable it is by the way.

They’re positive and friendly places with lots of knowledgable people who’ll be happy to help (including me - it’s just much easier doing it there than via KZread comments). Perhaps you could attach a little screen recording demonstrating the issue to your post there? You can actually restart the trial once if you need to for a total of 14 days

@@ATastyPixel sorry the sentence about the folder must have confused that copy paste glitch issue. My problem being a need to setup something anybody can use FREE OF COMMERCE; The projects folder is a seperate issue from copy paste. The problem to overcome is setting up something anybody can launch and use contained in a single file for easy distribution via internet. I am guessing about how a set can be developed by adding to a template group limited by there being only 26 letters in the alphabet. I have 50 songs in a printed book that I and other groups use to take the meetings. So using a workaround I can create a folder in projects with 5 sets of 10 songs; #1=1-10 ( 1st loopy default alphabet list A-J), #2=11-20 (2nd loopy default alphabet list A-J), #3=21-30 (3rd loopy default alphabet project list A-J), #4=31-40 (4th loopy default alphabet project list A-J), #5=41-50 (5th loopy default alphabet project list A-J). It is possible to use it as is and quickly cue a particular song but imagine an index menu construct. Cue any song by pressing repertoire - menu (group by group name - index list; from inside a user template. The template would only show a repertoire icon if the user created one.

Hi! The latest version of LP removed the pencil icon, as it was visual clutter. It doesn't change any behaviour, though; just tap any widget to edit it in edit mode. The slicer widget has been split out into three widget types: clip slicer, button grid, and radio buttons. You probably want the button grid, in this instance.

One day, perhaps, but it's unlikely to be happening soon. Automation is on the roadmap. MIDI controller support is already in there.

Hi Michael. I recently purchased loopy pro n it seams like a lot of features are missing tgat others are using. Like a new type of knobs that Inkie is using,or i cannot assign certain things(like recerse) as they are missing in the setting,though i've watched people usig them in tutorials. I got the version for $36. Do you know what might be the issue?

Well, seems like I no longer need the Launchpad app--not to mention how hit or miss loading your own samples into Launchpad was.

Yep, by putting a follow action on "play" for one of the clips, for instance (or just on the scene switch button) which changes the tempo

Hey there, really enjoying the app. I notice that when I adjust the tempo of clips it sometimes readjusts it to a different tempo when I go to a different page. Is there a way to lock the tempo or is this a glitch? I’m using the 8x8 Ableton style preset

I had no follow actions set. I went straight from the 8x8 template. It almost seemes like it was a glitch. If I left the page to long it would reanalaze the idea and think it was five or ten away from the number I put it manually

it would be great if you could leave a natural pause between sentences. This unfortunately ever more common absurdly tight aggressive editing is tiring to listen too. Why is it so popular with you tube presenters? i love the app but feel that i will have to work it out for myself rather than get annoyed watching your otherwise excellent tutorials.

Don’t buy this it does not work if you don’t believe me try installing inter app programs loopy just cant do it.
