Wow 😳 badass sub is all I can say that excursion is ridiculous I've been in to car subs an car stereo systems since I was very young wish I knew how all the new subs are made and what brought people to make them this way they sound amazing the subs I remember that used to really get down was the Orion hcca and cadence beast an cerwin Vega stroker subs love the vids I could watch or tinker with car system's all day everyday

Hey i have a question way off topic of this vid, I Just got an x15 v.2 d2 Do you guys brake them in befor you send them out, or do i need to? I figured i need to. Also Im using a Hifonics BXX2000.1D Brutus Class D 2000W RMS 1 Ohm Mono. Will it work ok?

Hi Derrick - going to be buying subs from you for my 2018 Lexus. Do you generally recommend facing Sundown subs front or rear fire? Have installed stuff for over 20 years now always rear fire, but “trunk walls” seem to be the latest trend. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Rear fire for better sounding music. Forward fire with the box all the way to the back of the trunk for spl.

Hi. I just purchased 2 x10 d4. I have them installed in a 3.1cu ft box ported at 34hz. Would you be able to tell me more or less where to set my amp lpf and subsonic filter. I've watched several videos and Can't seem to get it right. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had a pair of X-15s V2s on a Nendo BC5500 and I loved them. After box raise I clamped like 4400 out of the Nendo and the X-15s held up great. Keep it clean and they will last. I also really liked the Z-V3s I had. Sold them to buy the X-15s and still kicking my self for that one...

I have dual 4 Ohm subs and I had them running at 1 ohm. I did have it on 3 10" Soundqubed HDS3.1s at .67 and I pulled 4900+ watts on the meter. But I have 3 AGM Grp 31s and a 250 Amp Alt with 3 runs of 0 gauge running from the front to the back.

@@spuds7677 must have been an efficient enclosure. That's a damn good number to be running at 1 ohm. @ .67 my Apocalypse did about 3.5k. rising to around 2 ohms

Probably not but a hole will crack and keep cracking as it shakes I had a crack I plastic sealed and it cracked within a day

Impressive. I purchased one a little while ago. Sundown subs just sound amazing. The things a beast. There is one problem. It’s tearing apart my new Lexus IS 300.

Can I use a skar audio skv2 2500.1 amp for this sub or will it blow it? I’m looking to bump as a daily driver in reality I won’t be bumping all the time but when I do will it be safe to run that amp to this sub I already have the sub I have the skv2 1500.1 but I’m thinking of going with the 2500 instead?

Like some of the other videos where u just put everything u can to it I want to see how much the x series can actually handle before it pops. I own an x15 on a sae 2k and I know this sub want more power. I know it will handle more power

Can i run the x series v1's with the x series v2's? I have 2 x10v1's and want to add more, but i can't find the v1's anywhere. Can i just add v2's instead? Or replace what i have?

I got one of these and I got an SFB 1500d but the AMP doesn't work.. The clip light is constant, the power and protection lights just flash, tried the amp in another setup, didn't work. Tried a different cheap amp on my setup and it worked fine.

yes, they have a high xmax so the v2 surround was designed for that reason.

I wouldn't get anything under 2k for it, I run an x12 on a skar skv2.2500 at 1ohm, takes it all day and it has a clipping light.. also ran on a mechman 370a elite with only 2 yellow tops right now and dual runs of 1/0 ofc power and ground, it actually holds awesome voltage at 15v

I got a Type X 15D2 on a SAE-1500. I also have a Banda 5K, im so tempted to see if that Type X 15 can handle that 5K! I would appreciate any thoughts anybody might have!

If you want to "smash the lows" don't get the spl options, stay with a stock X-series sub. If you want more punchy traditional sounding bass then get a U-series sub. The "spl" is just a term for making the suspension stiffer. It doesn't automatically make the subwoofer louder.

The spl kits aren’t for lows. I’ve had x15s before spl kits and after and it changes the way it plays for sure. The megaroll v2 will get loud too.

So awesome!! I just got 2 x 15’s, I can’t wait to get them hooked up just as soon as I figure out how to design the box so it’s like it should be and get it built. Enclosure building is new to me so I really need someone to show me how to design it the right way instead of just “building a box.” Anybody have anything that can help me with that?

Probably need better electrical. Or your gain is up too high. What amp are you running it on? And also do you have stock electrical?

Do you build boxes for customers? If so... I would want a box for the NS-V4 15 tuned at 32hz! I was sold on the Zv5 15 but I see the NS-4 15 now! How much would it cost for the build and to ship it? That's if you guys build for individual customers!

All of your sub tests should be done exactly like you did the SA 15' V-2. That should be the ONLY WAY YOU TEST THEM!!! It actually gave us useful info instead of nothing but flex with no #'s......

It's a sweep so the frequencies vary across the spectrum from 20-80hz

I ordered a zv5 15 and a sae-2000D here in the netherlands, but got told the next shipment to the netherlands is in januari. Waiting almost 1 month for the paur. Honestly the sae 2k is a perfect match for the x series. I would have gone for the scv 3k to power the zv5.

Tyler Roth yeah i know. I wanted to power it with the scv3k but it was a little bit to expensive at the moment. For now i’m gonna power it with the 2k. In the future i’m planning to buy the scv-7500D and buy another zv5 15 for a dual 15 setup in a no-wall box so each zv5 is getting about 3250 watts then. My payment does not allow it at the moment lol. But still the 2k version did a peak of 4k on 14.5 volts and a 0.5ohms, so thats still pretty impressive. I got the dual 1 ohm version so i’m gonna put it at 0.5 ohms And sorry for bad writing again haha

I would love to own 2 of these X12s but with five kids it's hard $600 each sub but I've heard there's financing available I don't know if that's with you or JP due to this pandemic if I dont have work soon and money changes how do you go about that just some questions I would like to ask an with that I can't guarantee certain payment's depending and I think many more are in the same boat as me but I've been told that even if I was to buy a less expensive sub or amp as long as they are in good condition we could use them as a trade-in for 80% of the value for our next set of subs and amps is that true if so that's the coolest thing I've ever heard of for car audio

Thats a stock voice coil when u buy the sub the upgrade is a nsv3 voice coil

Ok na I don't follow.. But I did just order 2 of the 12x V3 D2 had the stuffing but no stickers no spec sheet I mean I figured 1300 bucks I'd atleast get a sticker and maybe a lanyard. It was brand new sounded ok but for that much can a brother get a sticker or something to show...... Guess the people at Amazon took the stickers....

I just bought a sundown xv2 15" and sa2000 watt amp and I'm not getting what I expected out of the speaker I've seen u take all your speakers fresh out the box and pound the sh** out of them im what I have done wrong or what should I do I've spent $2000 bucks on all sundown equipment and I'm not to happy

Are you not loud enough? Does your system shut down? It really comes down to correct tuning with amp and head unit, subwoofer box specs etc.. there could be so many reasons why your system isn't up to par. With your setup you should be shaking some homes.

That's exactly what I did!..Sold my 2 JLw7 12s and picked up 2 Sundown 15 XV2s. LOVE the sound quality of the JLs but I just need to be LOUDER!

Tyler this a bad ass sub but U will need a 6000 watt rms amp to combat impedance rise for them to get 3k ... short answer no ... they are rated 1500 W rms I would power one with a 2500 rms max set conservative especially in a ported box which is more efficient than sealed! The sub was taking almost 2k in then vid and was about to blow off the frame 😂☑️

I'm thinking about buying this sub.. what was your problem with it?

@@chancequesnelle3140 no problem with this sub. I wanted to buy it but wanted to ask a question to compare subs so i bought the better one. But didnt get any reply so i went with another sub and if i would have got a reply i would have bought the sundown and should have. But again , no reply from sundown. Still mad about losing money that took forever to save....

Ill pass on this 12 for the cost vs power my subs cost same thing and takes min 2,500 watts just to get one of mine to move. not to impressed at all less then 110.0db on free air. for those who dont know to reach 100db is not hard at all as the average room is already at about 50-80 db including the noise in the room. hell a cars motor alone is almost at 100db. 100 db isnt loud at all. free airing a sub is actually easier on a sub as there is nothing to actually make the subs work as if it was in a box or wall with resistance. stick that sub in a box or wall and you would need alot more power to achieve the same results with the power he was pushing it during free airing it would blow the sub in a box or wall as he would have to put about twice the power to get the same result. no hating at all but you cant do a free air video and ave people thinking there gona see same results when the subs actually installed, its just not gona happen. put the sub in a box or a wall then re do the test to give viewers the actual numbers. free airing it more for breaking in the spider then anything which breaking in a spider is purely a choice thing. big red flag here is notice he said subs not even warm yet he forgot his heat gun ya ok sure, how you gona promote a sub push it and not be able to show the subs temp com on now. lmmfao for those who are gona buy the sub and never install it and just free air it which is pointless to even buy the sub then ok the video is for those people.

2500w just to get a sub to move sounds like a crappy subwoofer. But if you think yours is better then simply catch me in the lanes bro.

@@UnofficialAudio Really lmmfao take a look at orion's 12 in 124 black coil competition series subs, the subs are rated at 2,500 watts min which means less one is putting 2,500 min to the sub its not even gona start to actually move as n flex. they have been ranked the #1 best subwoofer for 2 years straight. in your video 2,000 watts on lows damn near maxed out the excursion of the Sundown Audio v.2. ive got dual 12in orion 124 black coil competition series subs on about 8k and there only doing half the excursion on lows there rated for. the Sundown Audio v.2 only weighs 60 lbs one of my subs weighs 100lbs you really wanna go down this road? orion actually has an amp made specially for the sub oh the amp they built for the sub pushes 10k true watts. you may wanna look into team orian who actually have pro spl builds there builds just for 6 15's is way more extreme then any sundown build ive seen. better yet look on here there are videos of sundown vs orion, orion smacks the shit outa sundown across the boards. when i see a sundown subwoofer actually breaking metal seams apart then ill start to be impressed because thats what orions subs do. theres videos on youtube of team orions pro builds actually breaking steel cabs. go look at thomas jester tarulli ranger hes running 6 15in orion subs and its actually ripping the steel apart on his truck.
