In regards to the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris; I have an idea to prevent another fire from devastating this Parisian icon: during the reconstruction work at Notre Dame; one of the tasks on the list should be this: design and install a sprinkler system. While some might say that the sprinkler heads wouldn't blend in with the interior aesthetics of the cathedral; I have a solution to that: design the sprinkler heads to look like the heads of gargoyles. And because Notre Dame is located on the Île de la Cité; the sprinkler system will have an endless supply of water from the Seine River. Also; I believe that there should be fire extinguishers located throughout the cathedral and the clergy should be trained in knowing where the fire extinguishers are located as well as undergo training in how to use the fire extinguishers.

its so insane that its ALMOST FOUR years. August 21st 2021 is the 4th year mark. Insane how fast times flies

This is pretty devastating news for tourists visiting London because not only will Big Ben be silent but the Elizabeth Tower that houses the great bell and the clock face will be shrouded in scaffolding. I was in London recently and it seemed that the two iconic landmarks that people wanted to photograph the most were Big Ben and Tower Bridge. Fortunately, Tower Bridge is still up and running and looks magnificent. Even without Big Ben I can recommend London. It is a magnificent city to visit.

Big Ben is the BELL. The tower is the “Elizabeth Tower” named after the one and only Queen Elizabeth II.

.its not going to be totally silenced .it will still bong on.new years eve and remembrance Sunday in.november. and its now only 3,years to go..time flies

They could at least play a recording of the chimes over loudspeaker until the repairs are completed.

I imagine on the day that Big Ben chimes again for the first time after 5 years there will be a large crowd with their phones and after the last chime on the hour there will be a thunderous applause to welcome the bell back.

Queen Elizabeth literally died on a Thursday and I live in Australia but, I moved to London❤😊

I'm British and think it's ridiculous that they have to put in a place to have tea 😂 I don't even like tea

Why would you try to film a clip of footage at 9:59.30? Was it unclear what would happen?

They could have installed some speakers to emulate the bells while on reapair if this sound means so much to the people? Would surely not have added a whole lot to the total bill.

Dangit, we are just going to london and paris and we really want to hear the big bens wonderful chime, but we cant

Hopefully the project will include a projection of Jesus going around the tower maybe a choir boy maybe a charming prince Saving from the Dragon a princess flying about and the Chinese chimes playing in the background

I watch it in 2020, one year to go, I hope so, but because of pandemic it would takes longer
