Музыка

If you’re working to learn or remake a cover song, Logic has some tricks you can use to slow down parts, or change the song to a consistent tempo, if you’re doing a remake. Smart Tempo, Flexpitch and Audio to Midi conversion were not available to musician 10 years ago, but now these features make working with covers much easier. Learn these and you’ll improve the accuracy of how you play a song!
There’s a lot covered in this video that’s useful for any Logic user, whether working with covers or not. Feel free to jump to the relevant sections. Check out the chapters. Be sure to “Like” and possibly subscribe to the channel.

You mean to tell me that I don't have to painstakingly do all of this work manually??? Sir, you have just given me the tools and the knowledge to overcome obstacles that I wasn't previously willing to tackle. I knew the technology existed, but being an OG I had no idea how to do this. This is exactly the video I have been looking for. And the fact that you made it clear, palatable, and understandable makes it that much better. Thank you for taking the time to help out your fellow musicians and engineers. Much appreciation!

This was exactly the video tutorial I was looking for! In my case, not for a cover but to tweak an original song recorded by me 20 years ago without a click track. Now with the native stem splitter and your tips I can resurrect the song and finally finish it properly. Thank you so much!

I have a remark to make. When I use Smart Tempo to analyze very fast songs that are saturated with loud and distorted instruments (metal-hard rock, etc), I first slow down the tempo with FLEX, then export the file and re-import it on a new project to be able to Edit the Downbeats and Beats that Smart Tempo mistaken with the upbeats with the keyboard (D for downbeats, T for 1/4 notes), because the transients are very hard to detect visually. Try to put a constant metronome for a rehearsal with a drummer with separated tracks (voice-guitar-drum(muted)-bass(muted) with the Iron Maiden song « Heaven Can Wait » and you will undersand how puzzled it can be👀

Good technique. So much depends on the starting audio source and the nature of the music.

Excellent video dude! Can you do this with multiple tracks, like tracks you purchase from karaoke version? A lot of older songs that weren’t recorded to a click will vary throughout the length of the song. Thanks so much!
