I go over the finer details of the material I'm playing in this short. It's literally a Major Scale plus one of the simplest chord progressions possible, but can be tricky to physically play.

Someone mentioned my exact thoughts in another comment. For everyone saying this video is too quick, It's really not. It's the same speed as all the others. Getting your fingers under this stuff might take a little patience, and if you don't know your scale degrees, you'll want that as a requisite. But as for his explanation, it's very straightforward. Like he said, musically, this is simple and doesn't need spelling out. Being able to map it out on the fretboard is what's difficult. If you can't visualize what's happening, then that's the clear problem. Once you can see the scales, it's just a game of connect the dots. Take the time to fully understand this. It shouldn't necessarily be quick or easy at first. I'm fully self taught and it's videos like this that have opened up my playing and arranging skills to a point I previously thought impossible. Much gratitude from me!

Commenting for the algorithm- After finally taking learning the guitar seriously, LoGsounds lessons have drastically improved my understanding and comfort with this glorious instrument. I’m quickly making progress allowing my musical ideas to become reality in a fraction of the the time they used to. I am a greatful patron and highly recommend anyone looking for some jet fuel to accelerate their fretboard knowledge

You are so good at your craft! Playing, teaching, ideas on guitar, and understanding. I’ve played off and on for 20 years, on a daily for the past 2 years and since I’ve started watching you my playing technique, understanding, love for it has sky rocketed. Thank you so much for what your doing. If I could afford it right now in life I’d definitely pay the patron. Worth every penny.

Very nice lesson. Fundamentally, this is good for arranging songs for solo guitar. This lesson really opens up the fret board. Your philosophy of discovering options is spot on. Also, learning to following the line. People may say you go to fast, that is not really the case. Your lessons are on advanced topics, concepts and techniques for those who are intermediate to advanced players. Great job! Thanks!

I appreciate the comment. That is somewhat my mentality, I think the material is more effective when I just describe what's happening in the most efficient way possible. As opposed to super baby stepping every move, which would (in my opinion) make the video much longer and possibly tread into boring territory. Glad you enjoy it!

@@LoGsounds Maybe Simple straight forward in key natural C? I found myself guessing E flat, F, F#, G#, A#, and C. But seriously C# is wake up, I’ve played the same shapes too long jam tracks.

Don’t really comment much but I just found your channel yesterday and am so grateful! You do move fast but I kind of love it because it shows me how fast I should be thinking eventually. It is also really engaging and never dull. I’ve seen comments about going too fast but they can just change the video speed to 0.75 - I do that if I want to dig in deeper and play along but usually I try to absorb all of the info on first watch then rewatch portions. I took saxophone lessons for years and know many of these music theory concepts but never found guitar teachers that taught how to utilize the guitar like you do. Big difference thinking chords in your head and playing one note to playing multiple notes.

Greatly appreciate your words. I understand the fast thing, I can't remember where I've addressed this before but I'll do it again here: It's not so much that I go fast, it's more so the material I'm talking about (as in the literal notes and scale degrees) can feel overwhelming if you aren't used to it, aka 50% of all guitar players. It really is a balancing act, as if I slow down to crawl through the notes the video would be significantly longer. Considering the video is already 30 mins (which is longer that most viewers attention span, and far past the "KZread Sweet Spot" video length), anything longer would simply not be watched. So if I want to teach the way I do (talking about actual musical information as opposed to superficial things like fret numbers or whatever) I have to move through as though the person understands, and if they don't understand I have to rely on them to pause/slow down the video if they need to. Thanks for approaching it like that instead of complaining things are too fast, I do really appreciate it!

Awesome info! Thank you, sir. Quick question, would you mind, here or in a video, touching on the Bluesman Strat you are playing? How does it play and feel compared to a Fender? Are the pickups original Bluesman or another brand? Also, am I wrong in seeing you need either a fret job or at least some crowning and polishing? It's hard to tell if the "divots" are a shadow from the light or there are some pretty deep wear marks. I'm guessing they are standard nickel frets? All in all, the guitar sounds great, and I'm interested in buying one... but being a lefty, it's not like I can try one first. Thanks in advance! And Happy New Year!! May 2023 be our finest year yet!! Cheers!! 🎉🥂

Thanks for the questions! The Bluesman off the wall played better than any fender I've ever played, maybe except for a few super old and worn in fenders that I've played owned by other people. I went into the Bluesman factory, pulled this guitar down randomly, and bought it a few hours later. In no way was I planning on doing that, I was just super pumped about how it played/sounded. I even compared it to a fender custom shop strat they had in the building and it was a pretty noticeable difference. Obviously that being said, not every guitar from a brand is going to play better than every guitar from another, but in this isolated incident the Bluesman was far superior. Pickups are a brand called flying mojo, I'm not even sure if they exist anymore. Nowadays, Bluesman makes everything in house (I'm pretty sure) including their pickups, and from what I've played they sound great. Without a doubt I need a refret. I was supposed to go years ago but covid put a halt to that, so now I'm just looking for an opportunity to head back to Nashville so they can do it at the factory, and so I can oogle some of their dual humbucker teles that I can't afford :)
