@thattadoomodelrailway8734 thanks for the heads up, suspected something, as was all well to Christmas, then the hornby hop. Duff software update on the app maybe?? That would maybe account for things changing while loco's weren't on the layout. 🤔 cheers 👍

All my dc stock is preowned - I’ve learned how to fix em up over the 5 years I’ve been in the Hobby, & I invested in a decent controller which keeps them rolling Sweetly when I turn it up, and alternatively they stop when it turn it down - there’s only one Boss at Chapel Hill - Seems like yours have a mind of their own and are taking over 🥴😁 Good luck 🤞🏻

I don't know if anyone mentioned already but from watching other videos you can not switch between a tablet and phone ie if you have the class 56 linked to the tablet you will not find it on the phone and will not be able to link it, you have to disconnect it on the tablet then it will be visable to the phone. A bluetooth reciever can only be controlled by one device this is a bluetooth thing eg if you had music playing to your smart speaker from your phone you can not start playing music on that speaker using another device at the same time. The bluetooth system shouldn't in any way be affected by issues at Hornby or with their network. I haven't ventured into DCC myself but concidering ideas to get idling sounds on locos on shed and looking at this system as a possible although they don't have sounds I want yet ie cl 40,25,26 and 27

Hi Graham. Great vids. Sorry to hear about the problems with Hornby HM7000. I have had similar problems and have also invested a few hundred pounds on kit. I run a Roco Z21 and the Hm7000 chips go into one if a short occurs on the layout. I had a serious situation where about 4 locos suddenly took off on their own when a short happened. I have also had loco profile problems too. I ended up suspending any HM7000 operations and storing the kit pending disposal, reverting back to good old Loksound V5s. I will be monitoring your channel to see if you get the problems resolved. Good luck. Nigel

Change cv29 to disable ability to run the loco on DC and operate on DCC only. The 56 suddenly shooting backwards looks a clear case of DC runaway causing the chip to lose DCC commands.

Thanks for the pointer, it has been on my mind to look into something like this, as I had a bachmann class 40 do something similar when I first started out in dcc. It used to sometimes ignore a direction change. That changed when I upgraded to a sound chip but was told about switching dc use off then. I've had a hm7000 fitted class 50 do the same since my update as well, so I will investigate that. Cheers 👍 😊

Hi Graham problems problems mate. Oh dear it drives us daft. My accurascale 37 has gone back for the second time. Mine is a motor problem dont know when I'll see it back! As for your hornby problem. I dont have any ttx chips but ive had similar problems with my hst's with normal hornby chips especially with the going off backwards at full speed for no reason. Ive taken the cheap hornby chips out, replaced with dcc concepts and not had that problem again. I was told it was something to do with cv29 and yhe dc operation on a dcc chip. Anyway i just changed the chips and fitted stay alives and no problems so far. Good luck with getting an answer from hornby cheers Andy

It's a thought but I've had no issues with having many loco's on the layout using ordinary DCC. Layout rarely exceeds 2A even with 5 loco's running and loads just sitting. Maybe with a few Heljans it maybe get a bit juicy. Also these hm7000 chipped loco's ran well before they were temporary taken off the layout. The Hornby chips don't pull that much amplitude either so I doubt it. But as I said it's a thought. Cheers Graham 😊👍

With Hornby HM7000 I’ve found that if go into the cv editor setting in the app on your phone and reset CV8 (all settings) this may help but you’ll have re-enter your dcc address again as it puts it back to address 03, but this addressed the locos to work after being not used for while, as I found the sames issue with these decoders that just stopped working over time. Hornby chip sounds like what called a dc run away when the chip thinks it needs to run on dc and takes the track voltage as the speed and shoots off, had it with my first bachmanns cv29 needed changing so it worked dcc only, I don`t know if those chips have that cv option, I was hoping hornby has sorted out the problems with the chips so I`d held of buying a couple but seem like thats not the case seeing Alan had a fail as well, along with other running locos post chrismas. I don’t have DCC so I don’t experience those pesky problems and I save money😂 But honestly I never made the leap into DCC and now it would be way too expensive to convert what I have plus, there is no guarantee that my locos will run any better or run at all with a chip that might not be suitable. Given I don’t know much about them it would be a gamble. Just a thought but maybe your original txs profiles were v1. If the hm7000 app has now updated on your phone/tablet/whatever, perhaps you're expected to replace with v2. I got 4x txs decoders, the oldest 1 was giving me problems on an A3, updated to v2 and it's fine for now. There was no 'reverse bolting' tho like on the 56.

Hi Graham. This is a just a guess, but it sounds as though your problems stem from the model and not (necessarily) the HM7000 decoder (although, the changes to the CV is no one's fault, just a compatibility issue). Yes, there have been some issues with HM7000, but for most there are usually a simple solution. I think I would contact Accurascale about the incorrectly installed motor and the issue with the running lights when you "correct" the motor installation (although, this may also be a CV issue once the motor is installed correctly). Wow, you *have* been unlucky with HM7000! I wonder whether you also need to re-install the app (or did you do that already?). You may then need to re-link all your locos (hopefully not losing profiles, etc.). You do seems to have been through the wars! Good luck.
