LIVING IN HOUSTON TEXAS 2024 | How DANGEROUS Is HOUSTON? | [YIKES]
Are considering living in Houston Texas in 2024 and want to know if the city is safe? I've been living in Houston for nearly 10 years now and I can honestly say that I've gotten off easy with some of the things I've encountered. But living in Houston Texas definitely can be a dangerous thing. City & Suburbs both have their challenges when it comes to living in the greater Houston Texas area in 2024. In this video I go over a few of our own personal challenges while living in Houston Texas since we've moved here all those years ago.
Did I get this one right?
Houston Texas has a ton to offer and has so many different styles of living for all, but will some of these cons keep you away or attract you to living here in Houston Texas?!

Thank you Aaron for your transparency and honesty too. I’m from Milwaukee (born and raised). My family and I have lived in MN suburbs for a year now. I’m not gonna lie a couple of your stories reminded me of my hometown. 😬🥴 It hasn’t discouraged me from moving there, but I definitely raise an eyebrow lbvs. Thx for sharing.

Great content Aaron! Me, and my Brother lived there for 3 years. (First on the Northside off Aldine Bender) Then we moved to Alief on the Southwest Side. (Westheimer and Kirkwood) Generally, if you’re not Flossing, and keep to yourself, you’re not gonna have any issues. I actually miss the place.
I’m moving from Philly to Houston. I don’t think it gets now worse then killadelphia I’m on my way 😊

I moved from Miami to Houston and it depends how you live and what you like to do. So far everyone has been mad cool and gracious.

Houston isn’t that bad. People from other large cities tend to transition easier in my experience with helping clients relocate
Moved out that city months ago after years living there. Lived in spring and the crime came that way. Good memories of Houston though.

I understand completely. Thanks for checking out the video 👍🏽
Great video. Houston is a beautiful city but there are too many bums all over the street and they are annoying because they bother everyone. You don't feel safe walking in downtown and midtown anymore.

Huoston is not a really a great city. It's a blue city and it shows, sad really. I live south of houston, about 20 miles. I recommend surrounding cities near Houston. Passadena, Webster, Texas City, and La Porte. Richer cities like Richmond, SugarLand, and Jersey Village. As of 2020, Houston was rated 36 out of 100 dangerous cities in America, Houston is not to bad when it comes to crime, but you must know which areas to stay away from. I will say this, I am a former combat Marine and been all over the world, no other place would I rather live.

Hey how's it going! What are some "somewhat safe areas "inside of the city for a young professional? I know some of the suburbs will have lower crime rates, but I really dont want to be far out but if the city is that dangerous then i might have to.
@aaronlathan

That largely depends on your budget and the style of home you’re trying to get. Most young professionals that I work with tend to gravitate towards areas in transition but overall “safety” will depend on the street in those cases. I’ve got some time over the next couple days. Let’s hop on a quick call to discuss your needs more in depth. calendly.com/myagentlathan/client-consultation
I’m thinking of moving to houston too but finding a safe area has been tricky. Any help you can offer?
@aaronlathan
2 жыл бұрын
That depends on a lot. The two biggest components being your lifestyle and your budget. On average the suburbs have a higher safety rating than the city of Houston but they’ll come at the cost of longer commutes and usually higher taxes if you plan to buy. There are some areas in the city that are safer than others but that’s relative. If you wanna talk through it more in depth we can hop on a quick call this week. calendly.com/myagentlathan/client-consultation
In your opinion outside of the Burbs, what are some "safer" somewhat affordable neighborhoods in the Houston area?
@aaronlathan
2 жыл бұрын
There are a bunch. But the “affordable” amount has shifted a bunch in the last 2 years. Anything under the average sales price ($400K as of this recording) comes with a sacrifice. Either location, size, looks, etc. If you’ve got some time the next few days I’d love to hop on a call with you and discuss options. calendly.com/myagentlathan/client-consultation

You get a lot of theft in the Heights but usually not aggressive crime.

I wouldn’t say that I’d be worried. But I’d encourage you to be alert anywhere in Houston.
it's the lawless gun laws here that make people so trigger itchy lol. Also, the amount of amber alerts out here is wild I've never experienced that before where I'm from.

I’ve heard that from natives a lot lol. The same transition happening in Independence Heights and Acres Homes was almost identical to what happened in the Heights in the 90s-2000.
