Living in a Tiny House in Seoul | korean apartment tour
Hi everyone! While we're being asked to social distance, Kurt and I decided to spend the weekend staying in a tiny guesthouse here in Seoul to change our routine of staying in our apartment :) The house was designed by an architect that wanted to make a tiny house and it was...interesting. It's not the best location for a tourist, but if you're looking for a change of pace it definitely does the job lol. Hope you enjoyed the little house tour and I'll see you guys next time~ Stay safe!

I love tiny houses, but this particular one is just not it for me. It being tiny and inconvenient would’ve been fine for the experience if it had some unique and interesting structure or design to it, but it did not. Tiny houses are not supposed to make you feel claustrophobic, that’s the beauty and intelligence behind such craft. Also this whole he said don’t do this don’t do that is a bit off putting, if your work requires you to give a long list of dos and don’ts then perhaps you should reconsider. No hate, that’s just my opinion.

Site constraint.
The architect / designer could have expanded the second & third floor to the space above the “cafe”. It would add a really great extra space..

I feel like an architect designing a house should account for things like ventilation for cooking indoors and using safe materials that won't shatter and become a hazard. Other than that though, very cute house with an interesting design.

On top of being a tiny house, it is built for tiny people! Like, I'm pretty sure my hips are too wide to "walk" around (and let's not talk about my skirts...) , Especially when moving from the sitting area to upstair... But, all practicity aside, I love those weird building around the city... There is one in Sinsa which looks like a dinosaur, I wonder how the space is divided in it~~~ 🤔🤔🤔

Looks great from the outside 😍 thats where the architecture shines, but as a long-time fan of tiny houses I question the priorities here 😁 I would always sacrifice the size of the kitchen and the "study" for more bathroom/bedroom space. Especially bathroom would have to be larger and further away from where my boyfriend's head is resting at night 🤣🤣. And wouldn't this place have been an ideal candidate for a rooftop terrace 😍? Love your Videos!!! Stay safe and take care ♡

Very cool how the architect was able to include so many amenities in such a small space. Just goes to show how much of a luxury having space has become. Also at first glance, I totally thought the house was the cafe 😂
That was a great tour Thanks it changed my quarantine mood haha It was small and cute I wanna try but just for few days I love the part that you owned a mini cafe

So interesting! I love to see how various builders make tiny living spaces work. Maybe not for everyone, but places like this do fill a need for affordable places to live in crowded cities.

I like tiny house. However that's the tiniest house I've ever seen, especially the stairs. Mahalo for sharing. Stay safe.
I lived in Korea many years ago when I was your age. We lived in shoeboxes for years. That place is huge compared with some of the apartments I seen other Koreans living in.
Love the house, so strategically built utilising all the spaces smartly and a cute one too
the jam and toast is actually a nice thought. after travelling to your stay room sometime the first thing to try to do is find something to eat and rest a little. it helps that a snack is there. the things you cant do like grilling inside seemed a bit odd.
Wow,absolutely interesting. I thoroughly enjoyed this

Omg like this place is sooooo cute like omg it's amazing omg
The bathroom with it's milk glass (plexiglass?) reminded me of a flat I checked out when I studied abroad in China, it was the weirdest thing I have personally seen in a place (something you'd maybe expect from a Grand Designs episode which I think this guesthouse could feature in). The bathroom of the flat was a blueish-greenish tinted milky plexiglass in the middle of the flat, on one side wall. So you came into the flat and there was the kitchen, than the plexiglass bathroom which since it was off to one wall created a little hallway to the back of the flat and so the bathroom served as sort of a room divider and the bedroom part of the flat was at the back with a balcony. I wish I had photos of it, but it also basically only had a toilet, a sink and a shower head. So yeah, this small bathroom in your guest house brings back memories!
Thank you for sharing Cari.Hope everybody here becomes successful on KZread

idk why but this gave me Japanese apartment vibes since they cane pretty small, anyways, I would stay here forever, especially with a special someone, it would be so cozy and the way its 3 floors and the tv makes so much sense! and the bed seems so cozyyyy, and the small tiny window is super cute plus the cafe! WOW SO NICE, at the same time, the bathroom is tiny but idk the whole tiny thing seems so cozy🥺

this house was so cute!! I loved the colour of the green chair! have you ever stayed in a capsule hotel? that might be a fun video! ☺️💕
I love this tiny house for a single 😍 it looks so comfortable
I think I read about this house in Dezeen. I haven't been in any tiny houses like this, but definitely in tiny apartments, where you had the shower mounted on a kind of swing door: you'd close the bathroom door and then choose if you wanted to use the sink or the shower. They were mounted on each side of the swing door.
I love watching your videos. Interesting channel since I've been wanting to travel to Korea for quite sometime now.

Caris resident Norwegian🇳🇴 is back late again😭 I was just chilling while watching this thinking that I would love a tiny place like that and then my art-loving self nearly screeched at the giant Klimt painting at 7:50 😅 My face actually lit up so I think I need to get my butt in a museum or gallery soon😂
This house reminds me of a video I watched way back. A person in Canada (if I remember correctly) built a house with the width and length of a garage, therefore building in height. It was suggested that this could be a solution to build in either an overpopulated city and/or where land is very expensive. Seoul fits that description. Although I wouldn't mind widing out a home a bit. And keeping the toilet in the center. There's nothing like running to the top floor when having stomach troubles... (If I remember correctly about that other video. But his house was a bit wider)
This reminds me of the houses that I’ve also seen in another Japan vlogs. This is still lovely 💕💝

cari cakes I can see that if you live there day to day basis, you will feel claustrophobic. Sound travels through the vertical shaft..the entire house is designed within stairwell essentially. I’ve see houses like this in Europe where the house was built between two lots but this one seems like it is on a standard size plot like adjacent houses..
the size of the house + the view out of the windows with the skyscrapers remind me of HK apartments! The stairs remind me of Dutch stairs in old houses, though the Dutch ones would be a lot steeper too, so these looked pretty good to me hahah:)

jam in the fridge! i cant! haha i think if the window were not frosted off and you had the option to have a thin privacy blind it would be so much better! that space is made for people watching in your pjs with a cup of tea!
i love this, i want this place.
I really find very interesting these narrow buildings, it makes me remember when I studied 'pet architecture', very common in Japan. This one is super cute as you say!
i think this is a really great housing alternative for urban areas - maybe for college students (singular - if i had lived here with a roommate in college i may have strangled them on the second day). hong kong has housing that is tinier than this (you basically get your own "private space" the size of a parking spot for your bed and all personal effects. all other spaces are shared - kitchen, laundry, bathroom, etc.) so i think something like this that is 6ft wide would be great for increasing privacy in areas with already cramped housing.
Omg it’s so cool though!!! Also i hope things get better so i can head over in the next couple months 😭 seoul is so close yet so farrr
