I would say that I’m proud of you for keeping you beliefs & way of life. You don’t just have a family, you have a Tribe lol. Freedom is a Very important part of life & what I saw watching…. Well the free spirit of riding a horse bare back & hair flying in the wind just warmed my heart. Many think material items is what they need…. How sad for them.😢 We learn by trial & error, let go & move on. I cried when you found photos amongst the burned ruins. Pictures are something that can never be replaced once gone. We lived just down the road from this family, when they were in the big house. I didn't know the parents but 3 of the children were going for a walk past our house when a rare black fantail landed on a small tree near to me. I called them over to watch the fantails.❤ Those children were absolutely delighted by the experience of the fantails fluttering around them, especially the black fantail. It was an experience I will never forget...like their energy synchronised with the delightful energy created by the fantails. Beautiful children... I hope you are all enjoying life.

Now this is a childhood. So happy for these kids, they will never forget their childhood. Every child deserves this☺️

This was my absolute joy, I listened back several times. How many fathers know their tamariki, on the levels such as Peter. What a team they are, colleen aaah I wish everyone could embrace their level of 'beingness' and love. So so beautiful.

The purity of love the mother and father have for their precious children is a wonder to see❤

So Omahu where there whanau home and land was went through a full on flood in Feb 2023, the river banks broke and flooded right throughout our village. Cleansing and a reset of our lands and whanau of Omahu. It was devastating to see it all under water. I remember Peter when we were kids, i would come from Auckland for holidays, we would all run mad around our urupa and little LDS church ❤ i knew nothing of his sufferings as a child. But what i do know now is Peter your life is full cup with all your children, wife and horses and the calm of a simplified life. I do hope you are blessed with mokopuna. You all deserve a happy life❤ ❤❤❤❤

I saw this years ago and have never forgotten this amazing family and the sadness of the victimisation they have suffered because if one obviously unbalanced man who is eaten up with jealousy over his son who has grown into a decent thoughtful husband and father. Heartbreaking and I hope their lives turned out ok.

This family is so special. Mom and dad are raising amazing children who will grow up to think for themselves and treat others with kindness and respect. I hope their horse business succeeds and helps them financially. I hope this channel gives an update on this lovely family. I wish someone would start a go fund me for this family so they can continue their dreams. I live in the US and would definitely contribute. The grandparents are the ones missing out on being a part of their grandchildren’s lives. Such a shame. How his mother puts up with her husband’s disrespect of her son is shameful.

That Granddad is a nasty piece of work, who just wanted to control his stepson's every move. And when the father started disagreeing with him, when he started thinking for himself, granddad thought it would be a good idea to do everything in his power to try to get him under control again. Amazing parents, fantastic children. They're great human beings.

Those children are such amazing kids.

Thank you for the long video telling the story of this amazingly beautiful family. Raising children to be loving while allowing them the freedom to be wild and free is the best way to raise children. We have become a society that tries to legislate and create laws to protect everyone even from themselves. We have no right to do that, and in the process we become the jailers. The parents & their children are one of the most healthy and authentic families you can ever hope to find.Proud,free, wild, loving, and steered by sound principles and morals.You lot are a class act.I held back tears watching this, as I could only have wished for such a loving and genuine family in my own life.I have absolute respect and honour for these folk.As for that ungodly step-dad, well ain't he a born loser and coldhearted fool.Some people are so stupid they can't refine themselves no matter what the loss.Their priorities are totally wack that they sing their way to the grave, only to find it full of regret😢

I swear, I think I almost live and breathe just to watch these kinds of documentaries on KZread. God bless Slice so much for making them so available.

I knew these guys and their beautiful children my wife at the time was in love with them they were so cute. They used to go to the same congregation that myself and my ex wife. We went out for dates together 2 married couples. Use to go to their old house for tea. Peter used to make his own version of hot sauce using kiwi fruit, it was pretty good he invited me to go to the mountains with him he used to point with his finger to the horizon and I could see the tall mountain and always chiken out. They were a great humble couple fun to be around. Peter had his moments but he was a good guy. It has always been very weird seeing them in this documentary especially myself being from Latin America and yes I heard rumors about who burnt the old house down but I ain't going to go there. I hope they're doing well after all these years.

These kids look like all kids should look like: so healthy, so alive. I love it!!!

Peter and Coleen, thank you for letting us into your wonderful world. You both are amazing people and parents. Keep living your life how you want to live❤️ Your babies are incredible and have a wonderful life, learning along side of you both to navigate this world of ours. You’re an inspiration to us all❤❤❤

I have just fallen in love with an amazing family. You are perfect examples of teaching your children about love! Please know hounering your father and Mother can only be born out of true love not out of authorization. Please remember you owe no-one anything but you truly owe it to yourself and your own family to walk away from the situation with a gentle heart which I feel you have. I am 72 with many experiences under my belt . No matter how much you try you will not melt a stoney heart. Ah, what an incredible blessing finding those photos.

This is the most beautiful family I have ever seen. What a great example of God's plan for family. Even though their earthly father doesn't seem to love unconditionally, this father does and so does our Heavenly Father. This family is the glory of the Lord and I have learned so much from them. What a beautiful family bless them. ❤️ Shame on the step father for treating someone's child like crap!

I felt bad for Peter when he said, "what did I do I disagreed with him". I too Peter disagree with my mother and I am not ashamed to say that because she was very abusive to us growing up and is still very controlling in my sisters lives. It is not dishonoring to think for yourself unless in your heart you believe that you dishonored him and I dont think that is the case here. I love how Peter and his wife are with their children. Watching them freeride bareback was truly majestic. Such a quite blessed life working through the trials and tribulations that come their way. Staying focused on life what has to be done not outside deterrents but rather on family and all the joys and beauty it has to offer along the way even the sadness it brings. Stay true to yourself Peter this is yours and your wife's family raise them how you see fit. Peter's father you do not have to raise children the way you were raised. It took a lot of courage for Peter to stand up to you as a man before you and you should respect his decision.

reminded me some what of my life as a kid. Amazing how we use scripture to suit us: Eph. 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; :3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. Maybe his father should look at the next verse. Goes both ways, I've learned that a story always has two dides. Eph. 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Thanks, really enjoyed this.

Hope the family had a good life. Love the free life the kids lead and no fear in them.My children had horses and on weekend never saw them all day. They loved riding horses and been in the woods.

My heart feels FULL seeing the oure smile and joy on mums face after the photos and negatives of her babie arensalvaged from the fire. Her single tear and kind honest words after loosimg her baby was special 💜

These kids have the best childhood, i love that for them. Groving up on the countryside was the best thing that could happened to me and im very thankful for that. I want to do the same thing for my kids.

@@nuiwai5402 I’m local. The doco maker … hmmm, trespassing on our whenua etc etc etc (international film screenings & awards. We as trustees sent a letter to her inviting her to marae, a screening for the people, never ever heard from her) … on the other hand many of us got to connect w our whenua on screen that the majority of hapu have never put foot on to this day (extremely remote & landlocked)

Very heartfelt film,there are cycles , negative and abusive in people’s lives that need to be broken , god be with the ones that have the guts to make changes for the better.

This was so good to watch. Learning unconditional love is something that some people have not come to experience YET- is what I discerned out of this video. Some parents need to come to it yet.........The couple in this film and all their children live an amazing life!

This is the most sweetest beautiful family I have ever seen in a long time with all these beautiful children living life the way we're supposed to be so free I tried to raise our kids in this way and we always had problems too wherever we went someone would get jealous or we would fix up some old abandoned place and then someone would want it but they still have love each other in their joy for life and you can't take that from them I love watching this it reminded me of my own children growing up I hope this family gets so many blessings that they deserve they are just adorable and precious❤
