The Edmonton Oilers came into Dallas and stole Game 1 last night thanks to a double overtime winner from Connor McDavid. The Oilers did hold a 2-0 lead in the second period thanks to goals from Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman; however, a couple of fortunate bounces from that fell to Tyler Seguin allowed the Stars to tie the game up. Nevertheless, Edmonton found a way to go up 1-0 in the Western Conference Finals.
Along with the McDavid winner, there were plenty of storylines from last night. Stuart Skinner was fantastic between the pipes with a 0.939 save percentage, which was arguably his best game of the playoffs. Additionally, the penalty kill was perfect with huge contributions from the bottom six. Also, the Oilers stars managed to outshine Dallas' top players.

Nurse was to far over on the second goal which made Vinny have to play closer to the net and lose his guy and if nurse doesn’t turn his foot it likely doesn’t go right to seguin. Nurse needs to learn better blocking techniques,He really gets the worst bounces off him
McLeod & Foegele were great on PK. Foegele over stick handling the puck on his breakaway. He needs to simplify his game, not to dipsy-doodle so much. Even skating a bit too fast/too many quick turns, too jittery, leading to him falling down. Yes, skate fast, but not to the point that you fall or lose control of the puck. Keep it simple. Drive to the net. Go for rebounds. Take any/all shots on net. McLeod doesn't fall on the ice like Foegele, but needs to hit or very least rub out the opponent along the boards.
We need Rico in. He’s better than all of the bottom 6 so you find him a spot. Why not Carrick out? Ryan/MacLeod down and Rico on the wing?
Henrique is better than Ryan,? He hasn't showed it to me yet. Ryan is tenacious on the for check, great penalty kill and I haven't noticed any mistakes. Always on the defensive side of the puck and can score. I like Henrique but he really hasn't impressed me that much.
