I would love for them to come out with a little 4 or 6 inch coil for the simplex oh and give that machine a nice sweet sounding tone . My wife use the simplex and when she’s over a target swing over it and pinpointing it omg it sounds like a cat being bitched lol

after all your hours with the simplex which coil do you like the best the 11 inch or the sp24?..thanks also is the sp24 much lighter than the 11 inch reason i ask is i notice seems like smaller coils hold more epoxy

The SP28 coil is the perfect coil for the Simplex. The SP28 coil is slightly heavier than the other coils but the weight of the epoxy in the large coil seems to be more evenly balanced. The smaller coils seem to be unbalanced in weight distribution due to epoxy where wire enters coil. The smaller coils are less prone to EMI. The depth on all coils is amazing The SP28 coil does make the Simplex somewhat buoyant in water. The SP24 coil just makes the Simplex float on down the river .The SP22 coil is perfect for the water(neutral buoyancy)

I find very few non-North American coins where I live. Lots of Chinese trade token though.

How many TRX’S do you have that work good I like the TRX I wish they made more of them

Currently I have 9 TRX's that need to be repaired. The one I am currently using only lasted about 8 months and the speaker is going bad. I put lots of hours on my pinpointers, nothing lasts forever right.

Any pinpointers that you feel come close to the trx in depth? How do you like the mi4 and what are your thoughts on the Nokta pointer?

The TRX is the deepest detecting pinpointer I have ever used. The Mi4 is so quiet and has a huge square bulky head. The Nokta pointer has very little depth and tone ratcheting(proximity sensoring) is horrible. The TRX can use AA or 9 volt. . If your battery dies in a AA pinpointer just change battery. If your battery dies in a rechargeable pinpointer when you are out in the field JUST GO HOME... YOUR DAY IS DONE!! This is why I always have at least 2 pinpointers when I detect.

The range is really good on the MI-4, I measured 1cm better than the Garrett carrot. I use that one for park hunts because it's quieter and doesn't make much noise to disturb/annoy the public. On remote fields, I use the Garrett carrot because it's loud and can be heard above gusty winds and it has the right amount of sensitivity for field settings.

Thank you for your response-a lot of very helpful info. I'll take the Nokta pointer off my list and may still consider the mi4 but with a power bank on hand to charge in the field. Will be interesting to see which pinpointer eventually becomes your "go to" machine. Just another reason to keep watching your excellent videos! Stay safe.

@@gavinkalaher7314 Thanks for the feedback. Does the mi4 detect very small targets, such as kids earrings? I have the original Garrett Propointer and it couldn't detect my daughter's gold earring. What have you found to be the pros/cons of the Garrett carrot and the mi4 and if you could only use one which would it be?

@@stratman6879 certainly not had any problems detecting small objects with the MI-4; it has been picking up foil and very small objects for me, equal to the Garrett carrot I would say. MI-4 pros: quiet (for where loud beeps aren't necessary); internal rechargeable battery; excellent range; sensitive; comes with a holster and clip & cons: large tip; wouldn't hear in gusty winds the XP holster isn't great, I use the Garrett one all the time! Garrett pros: loud beeps (better for field where you're exposed to high winds); comes with holster; cons: didn't come with clip for belt (£2 to buy), no rechargeable battery (£10 to buy); sometimes overly sensitive I found. I use the MI-4 more often but they're BOTH useful in the right settings.
