Little Things That Help Us Listen Well

In this week’s episode, psychotherapist Margaret McGahon briefly unpacks the concept of "unconditional positive regard," popularized by psychologist Carl Rogers. McGahon suggests that we must prioritize our listening skills -- rather than focus on if we are correctly communicated well. Roger's theory states: unconditional positive regard is the basic acceptance and support of a person regardless of what the person says or does, especially in the context of client-centred therapy.
