@@c.lachellewallace8482 I totally agree. It seemed as if I was always crying because it was so genuine. I have a whole collection of Little House on the Prairie. All of the actors and actresses were really great! My favorite episodes of LHOTP were the ones where Laura had to find God on the highest mountain. Mary going blind, Laura is with Charles and she bumps the shot gun and it hit Charles. All that comes to mind is Charles saying, dear Lord please do let her see me die. Also the one where Laura found a baby in the creek and the little girl who walked with a limp and Nelly made fun of her. They were all good! You are so very right about all of the episodes had a meaning to them. Oh thank you so very much for your thoughts on LHOTP. It is such a classic for me as is Medical Center, Marcus Welby MD and Ben Casey. Thanks again you are the first friend that I have been able to text to about one of my favorite tv shows. Thank you, Karen Grassle, was treated terribly, by Michael Landon, after, the show was picked up, by NBC, to be a series and Karen rightfully, asked Michael for a new Contract amount, than, the one that, she originally, entered into, during the pilot of the show. But, Michael Landon, simply refused to, acknowledge, Karen as his equal, on the show. Michael Landon, Gabe her hell, but, she sued, and Won her Lawsuit. But, if Karen, was not the Bedt Actor, for the part of Caroline Ingalls, then Michael Landon, being the Executive Producer of the show, could have Replaced her, at any time, but, he never did. Because he knew, that Karen Grassle, was Indeed, the Key 🔑 to the success, of this Very Popular Family Show. But he didn’t, because, he needed her for the show to be successful. And it was such a success, and the rest is history.

My mom is going thru dementia and every night we watch Little House On The Prarie and then the Waltons on the Hallmark Drama channel. As a matter of fact we are watching them right now. I've been here with mom taking care of her for almost 12 years, it will be 12 years in October. Mom loves watching the shows and so do I. Someday I'm going to have so many memories of us watching these shows over and over. I never get tired of them and mom can't remember whether or not if she's seen them already😊 I prefer watching these shows anytime over some of the shows they put on TV nowadays. When I was young I used to wish that my mother would be like Caroline Ingalls and Olivia Walton. I wonder how many others wished the same thing. 😇

I loved her best in the Little House episode where she accidentally burned the barn some studying for test. She showed the exemplitory example of the obedient child by not taking the test. She reminded me of myself some in the end where she cried because she felt she disobeyed her mother by not telling Mrs. Beadle right away she couldn't take the test. I,too, as a child would have rather died than let my mama know I disobeyed her. That's respect. Mrs. Beadle always seem to be pushing for Mary to be her star pupil, and be a teacher.

I’m thankful there were a number of good wholesome shows made back then that fit the bill and Little House on The Prairie was one of my faves, along with The Waltons. I still had fun as a kid! Read what Melissa Gilbert said about her. I was shocked. Not sure where to locate it, but I think it was in a memoir by Gilbert. Or something. Really surprising and saddening. Apparently, not a nice person at all.

@@lisakay1006 Alison Arngrim didn't say that Melissa Sue Anderson isn't a nice person NOW, she said that they didn't get along when they were children. Melissa Gilbert trashes quite a few people in her book. I don't know what she said about Melissa Sue Anderson, but I'd imagine it's along the same lines as Alison Arngrim, because she and Alison were best friends as kids, and remain very close to this day. Alison Arngrim also said in her book that her aunt told her back in the day not to give Melissa Sue Anderson a hard time, because Melissa 'wasn't happy at home'. Alison recounts a time at a theme park where Melissa was eager to join in the fun with everybody else, but then her mother appeared and she suddenly shrunk back into herself and wouldn't join in. Melissa Sue Anderson was reserved and introverted as a child, and her mother was very overprotective and overbearing. Whereas Melissa Gilbert and Alison Arngrim were both extroverts with very lax parents. It was inevitable that there'd be cliques and clashes on set when they were all thrown together for long hours, in blistering heat, for months on end, while going through puberty! I believe there was probably some jealousy going on too, especially over boys. Alison had a huge crush on Radames Pera who played John Edwards Jr in Little House, and IIRC she said Melissa Gilbert did too. Melissa Sue Anderson had a lot of scenes with Radames, including kissing scenes. But she didn't like him, and Alison resented her for that, for some reason. Probably jealousy. It would hardly be the first time a tween/teen girl gang took a disliking to a strikingly beautiful peer. By all accounts Melissa Sue Anderson wasn't warm or friendly in those days, but she was a child for most of her time on LHOTP, and we have no idea what was going on in her personal life that might've contributed to that.

Of the LHOP cast interviews I've seen thus far, she comes across as the most humble, calm, and least self-absorbed. She's been married to the same man for nearly 30 years and candidly talks here about placing her family's needs ahead of her own self-inclinations. Juxtaposed against some of the other cast members, I'd take such gossip about her with a grain of salt.

She was NOT a bitch, I was an extra in one of her movies, and she couldn't have been nicer. She spoke with me for a few minutes, gave me autographs, not just for myself, but for my mother, my sister, and some of my friends. She was also very pleasant with the other actors, and the crew. She was gracious, and very charming. If that's being a bitch then keep it up Melissa. You're the greatest.

Little House is one of those shows that is relatable to people young and old.The language or spoken English is the way it should be now we have words that are all messed up.Little House gives a sense of family life and what being a close family should be.In this day and age we don’t have that anymore.

I grew up watching the show, I will have to say at my age now the show really touched my heart and soul. I can't watch it without crying anymore, the show helped me fully understand what my mother was teaching me and my siblings about Family and life. This show and the Walton's, make me cry still today, because they were what being a real Family was about. Family being there for Family no matter what. And always helping those who needed help. They were great clean shows about Family and God . They were not afraid to put God And the Bible in them, I guess what I'm trying to say is that these 2 shows were really great family shows. As I said before too this day they still make me cry, I guess because I have watched my own family pass away through the years, And I miss the good old days, were running through the grass barefoot and feeling the grass on your feet was fun. I do miss them days.

I thought if I watched it I would be turned off by how old it is but once I played it, it took me back to my childhood. Not only that, the love, respect and family values is something that's very rarely seen now a day and I've tried so hard to instill alot from this show. Maybe my kids should watch it. They'll learn some things.
