    Fun fact: The last time the phrase "comedy of errors" came up on Final Jeopardy was the game Megan Wachspress defeated Eric Ahasic. The question was: In June [1972] he said, “Don’t lie to them to the extent to say there is no involvement, but just say this is… a comedy of errors”.

    David and Emily used the Biblical approach and stopped at Corinthians. But using this approach (Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, etc.) does not work here even if you know geography, as you have a couple of options to choose from (Galatia being one of them). Knowing Shakespeare (which I would recommend to any would-be contestant) makes it a giveaway. Among the main characters are two sets of identical twin brothers separated at birth, Antipholus of Syracuse (in Sicily) and Antipholus of the correct response, Dromio of Syracuse and Dromio of the correct response. The Duke of the correct response also features in the play.

    Most versions of YT have the top comments appear when opening the video. There are at least three accounts that post the questions to most videos, and the way to counter them is by upvoting a comment that is a designated “spoiler blocker”.

    Because, when you want to watch the video on a phone, you can see the first comment under the picture. There are some people who will post the correct response, so if other comments become more liked, the "spoiler" will be pushed down out of view.

  • @josephosheavideos3992
    @josephosheavideos39922 ай бұрын

    I understand the pressures of being on stage - especially when a clock is ticking - can make one give strange answers. That being said, I find it ironic that a Christian minister would say, "Corinth," which is in Greece, while an Indian (presumably, a Hindu) would give the correct response, "Ephesus." Of the nine epistles which bear a place name, only two are in modern-day Turkey: Ephesus (Ephesians) and Galatia (Galatians). Six are located in modern-day Greece - Colossae (Colossians), Corinth (I & II Corinthians), Philippi (Philippians), and Thessalonica (I & II Thessalonians). The ninth is Rome (Romans).

  • @stephenbeck7222

    @stephenbeck7222

    And Galatia is not a city but a region. It’s possible that one of the churches addressed in the opening parts of Revelation would be the correct response here but it would be a strange way to phrase the clue if that’s what they were going for. Regardless, I wouldn’t put a lot of criticism on the priest for getting this wrong. The geography of the epistles’ addresses is far down on what is most important about them for Christian studies. Corinth is a better guess for something in the Bible that would be a ‘comedy of errors’. Plus, the game was a runaway so no there was no need to put too much mental work into figuring it out.
