Grew up idolising Ronaldo with the whole family while our dad was the only supporter of Messi. We used to exchange rants and banters against each other within limits knowing how they meant to us but during the night of the final for the whole match I rooted for Mbappe and France but when it went to ET somehow i started to support the Argentinian understanding the hardwork, patience and commitment he showed cause thats why our dad supports him cause he saw himself in Messi, turning from no one to somebody. This guy truly made many of his haters turn into fans. Whether you like it or not it's a fact. Don't have all the arrogance to say he's not the greatest anymore. A true gem. Glad I witnessed him.

Most people who don't watch games, or just watch it for goals' sake cannot grasp his influence. Most of the chances he creates does not translate to assists or goals. How many critical passes or dribblings does he have that completely changed the play, destroyed the defensive plays, and caused goals? This man is a marvel to watch. He has been there for my entire childhood, along with Ronaldo, and made this sport what it is for me.

They will never give credit, even if they watch the games and see him routinely do things Ronaldo never could. Although am not Argentine, i have had 'heartbreak' supporting this team especially in 2002 and 2018. But resilience of the 2022 team will remain unmatched. 18/12/2022 will be the best moment of my life.

I am a die hard Ronaldo fan but Messi deservedly won the World Cup. Even if some people say there were some controversial penalties, that would not have changed the outcome, lets be honest. I just want people to give credit to E. Martinez, I think he was the reason Argentina won penalty shootout against France. Congrats world champions🎉

6 months have passed but everytime i watched a video of Messi my tears can't stop falling. I'm always grateful to witness the greatest footballer of all time.

I just literally cried watching this video... I mean Dec 18 2022 was the happiest moment in my life. I have never ever been more happy than that day. He said in later interviews that he didn't say that, people just tried to read his lips and misinterpreted what he said, but he was sort of asking Montiel or God or whatever to score the goal.

Every time I watch anything related to him I cry like a little baby. The amount of happiness this little boy from Rosario has given me, given us all is something I surely will not forget for the rest of my life. I'm from Croatia and I was a little bit sad when we lost to Argentina but my country can always win the world cup but this was last chance for Messi so I was happy he went to finals... After over a year tears still come back to my eyes when i watch this game. By far one of if not the best game ever played under the sun. Lionel is the greatest of all time, and it will be close to impossible in the future for anyone to even come close to his level. Thank you Lionel, you made my childhood complete.
