Link with the Lynx - Go Wild

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

With large tufted ears, a short tail and a trusting look, one could almost believe that lynxes are just big cats. In their hearts, however, they are wild and untamed. They are the tigers of Europe. This is the story of a hard earned friendship. On the one side is Milos Majda, a quiet, nature loving ranger at the Mala Fatra national park in Slovakia. On the other side are two small lynxes, fresh from the zoo. With Milos' help, it's hoped the lynxes will return to the home of their ancestors in the forests of Mala Fatra in the heart of Slovakia. For two years Milos Majda and the biologist and animal filmmaker Tomas Hulik follow the journey of the lynx siblings from their warm nursery inside a cabin into the wilderness.

When i lived in the bush of Alaska I found two small Lynx Kittens and raised them and when they got older they went off on their own. While they were with me fed them Rabbit Pheasant and other wild game. They pretty much fended for themselves after 11 months catching their own food. The Female made her territory near my camp and would see her all the time. When she had her first litre of kittens she brought them by for a visit.

The amount of effort and knowledge put into the "lynx rescue mission" is unbelievable. This documentary is able to capture the beautiful complexity (but sometimes simplicity) of interspecific relationships, convening empathy and information at the same time. Milos and Lila (what a great bound they have!), Tomas and everyone who was involved in this mission did a wonderful job. I hope that Liza and Muro are still doing well (I wish they had radio collars before the release!), and more lynxes are populating the European forests.

I cried. I could never do what Milos did. I would be frantic with worry. I have two cats, one originally feral and although I know he longs for the wild sometimes, I could never let him go. I nursed him back to health after being attacked. He is the most loyal and the calmest cat I have ever had. I know it is not exactly the same. I have always felt so much for animals - even what I think they would feel . It was sad to see only one lynx return and not the other....People say animals especially wild have no feelings - I disagree. Thank you for a wonderful documentary.

Lynxes are such beautiful and interesting cats and where I live (Belgium) also mysterious ones. For a few years now it was assumed that, after an absence of ca. 200 years, they were back in our country, based on some sightings. But those were never confirmed and so the lynx was to become "the ghost of the woods". Only recently, in september 2020, a picture was taken that confirmed its definitive return. Maybe even more than the also recent return of the wolf here, I feel it's an event to celebrate.

All cats big and small are great and play an important role in the ecosystem. They belong in the wild, not indoors. Hybrid savannah cats are bred in captivity, can't reproduce, and have health and behavioral problems. Breeding hybrid animals doesn't help conservation. Cats don't do well in captivity. They spend their waking hours pacing, walking in circles, and showing other signs of psychological distress. Don't support pet breeders.

Must have been so hard to let these little darlings go. As much as I know they belong in the wild they are so precious I would be addicted. The only thing I worry about is that they have a trusting attitude towards humans now and would make easy prey for poachers. On another note I’d happily live up there in that log cabin 😍 such a peaceful life

Why do we still allow hunting? My father was an avid hunter, but he was in the transition generation between need and Safeway. He taught me to hunt but I traded my guns for cameras. I feel the animals belong to each other their death should feed other animals. Some men are notoriously selfish and live in fantasies of man against beast. We have evolved through the efforts of great and wonderful people to take care of each other without robing the forest and plains of those without a thumb. It has now become our duty to allow the wild to be wild as we selfishly hold the lions share to feed ourselves. Hunting has now become a brutal act of those living a fantasy of bygone times. Why does society still give license to their demented view?

the only hunting i support is when its part of the way of life for very rural people, or culling to control populations that threaten home and livestock from predators, even then its not something I like to see, but too much ive seen sadistic brutes use that as an excuse to murder beautiful wolves and foxes to keep as trophies, not for the sake of the harmony or nature or safety of humans and our domesticated companions, but as you said, for their fantasies of man against beast. As a result of this mentality of "its ok to cull", we've sent many wolves to near extinction, and eradicated the beautiful tasmanian tiger. Most hunting i see serves no other purpose than these peoples sadism.

@@fruitylerlups530 You apparently have never seen the huge herds of deer in such places like maryland or florida s, carolina virginia, n.carolina and many more, if these populations are not kept under control they will eat them selves out of food and as a result die during the cold winters , we know this to be a fact in places where hunting was banned the populations left unchecked deer became skinny and weak ending in a complete and total desatister. I f the predators on this planet were not kept in check you would not be able to go in any national park without a real threat on your life . HAVE YOU EVER VIEW A HUMAN BEING EATEN ALIVE BY ANY PREDATOR, it is something i wish i never saw , it happened in an area where non- hunters believed they knew best they were irresponsible in their choices, costing an entire family their lives and their lives ended very violently, the type of death reserved for monsters not a family of christians. IN parts of africa the baboon populations have risen to the point they attack humans in some cases killing them, since nature can not provide a way to thin them out man steps in and controls their populations with hunting, and even that is not enough, canadian geese , if not kept in check they will absolutely perish from lack of enough food, the key to harmony is education , In due time man will face his biggest challenge, the forest for some time now have been gathering creatures mostly predators their numbers are now off the charts you can not walk in to any forest or woods without seeing some sign that they were here it is unmistakable. They are interdimensional beings and have now figured out how to bring more of their kind in to our world. Don't count on our corrupt gov . to keep you informed they lie and lie often, You are not always able to see these creatures withe naked eye but the camera never misses a shot ever. I Have i n my computer a stack of still captures of some of the most bizarre looking predators that man will ever encounter some very large some smaller but mouth full of predator teeth, i am reasonably sure they are biding their time waiting on someone or something to give them the word , these creatures my friends are of demonic origins they are demonic by nature. I am not particularly religious nor crazy i am a scientist who is simply gathering facts. And while gathering fact i found by accident that all visual media dating back to 1953 has been corrupted, not some all visual media, right up to present day news clips, also live stream. Most recently the news clips coming fro afghanistan, the ones where the camera is pointing at the crowds on the planes coming here to the US, any of the news clips will work pause the still photo now take out your magnifier 1x will work, look closely at each person starting in the seats closest to the rear of the plane , focus on over size headed people, see them now demonic beings nobody on the plane sees them buthe camera has no problem, and friends it is like that in everything we view , hidden in plain sight, basically we are most likely living in end times today but i am no expert just a guess

Well Narrated and the film quality was very good. I wondered who did the filming and about half way through the documentary it mentions Milo's wife.

In the interim I have also watched some videos of other big cats and that has increased appreciation for the lynx. I wonder if the tiger cat is a descendant of the lynx (housecat variety) - the markings are very similar. The lynx. European heritage. European forests. Beautiful imagery. Great documentary.

I’m sure it’s been asked but why not put a small tracking beacon on the lynx and then they could follow them for life. They could see exactly how far they make their territory. I know they make collars but it seems like we would have the tech by now to just do a small surgery with the tracker implanted. Great video
