Hey Guys! I’ve been struggling to keep my linen closet organized for years, it’s a very deep & narrow closet, and I’ve never been able to figure out how to maximize the space to keep it functional long term. I think these types of closets are pretty common, and they can be a struggle for everyone, but I’ve finally figured it out! I’m so excited to share these organization ideas with you so that you can use them in a trouble space in your home. 💛💛💛

It’s been great so far! I’m doing smaller areas every week, but one major space monthly.

I feel it's so overwhelming to get started but once you start and get going you figure it out and then end result so satisfying.

Megan, you are so relatable! I laughed when you started pulling stuff out of your closet and you just kept pulling more and more and more out. I thought you were going to get lost in there 🤣 Deep closets can be so hard to organize but you did a great job!

Im 57 and have always used white towels with having boys and many brother in laws you can bleach them and they always looks crisp and clean now years later with being able to buy what I want when i want its still always white towels in every bathroom and now years later life changes my boyfriend and I have five boys and 14 grandchildren between us and white towels in both guest houses !! Love white towels great choice !!

I also replaced all my old mismatched towels when we moved 6 months ago. I think changing the yearly is too often. They don't become that bad in a year. I think I will replace mine when I see they become stained or frayed. I had my previous towels for about 5 or 6 years and they were in very good condition still. So...I guess I'll see if I can use the ones I currently have for the next 5 years and then I'll do a complete swap. Your project turned out very well. Congratulations.

The closet looks great! My linen closet is exactly the same as yours ( maybe a tad wider) but still pretty narrow & goes far back -same 2 part shelves & everything!! And to answer your question about towels I am with the latter group & only have a collection of towels from over the years - Maybe I've had like 2 bath, 2 hand & 4 washcloths of one kind but they're old now & always mixed in with others I've collected. So, never only all one type/color...Yet! Now that it's just me at home - I've thought of redoing my bathroom ( just decor, towels, shower curtain type thing) but I can't decide on a color/colors. The white always looks so nice & fresh tho! Good for you for treating yourself - You deserve it!! Especially cuz in the larger scheme of things it's really not a big thing but def worth it bcse not only does it look nice it brings a lot of joy every time you open the closet! Just curious Megan - Why did you get rid of those unopened boxes of tissues? Maybe cuz I'm old now - but I go thru a lot of tissues...my damn nose is always running lol!!

I donated the tissues to a local women’s shelter because they were in need. 😊 our family doesn’t actually use them so there was no need for me to hold onto them any longer

Your linen closet is definitely Pinterest worthy!! It is beautiful. I try to buy new towels and hand towels every year to every two years. I tend to buy all white so they can mix and match well. 😘😘

Megan, you are amazing! You are my go-to for inspiration and motivation to clean and declutter. In this video you had a big pile for donate and not too much to put back in the closet. Well done. You also had a bag for garbage, but it was far from being all garbage! Please please separate recycling! Let's make the world that your daughters will inherit as wonderful as possible. In watching all your videos I have seen so much go into the garbage that should have been the fourth pile called recycling.

We got all new towels as wedding gifts 3 years ago and I assume we’ll probably replace them every 4-5 years! I did just replace all of our washcloths and it was such a treat. Adulthood things 😂😂

I started replacing our towels gradually - first figuring out the color i wanted. Then it's a case of replacing them when they're seeing better days. I regularly check them every year

I have the same style closet with the same things in it (except more cleaning supplies I've collected over years). I've tried organizing it and failed several times, but I love that you can see inside your bins and also that if they stack, you don't need to worry about lids getting in the way! My husband likes to put his daily stuff at the front of the shelves for easy access, and that's fine, but it does add to the cluttered look. Maybe I'll put his stuff in a little tray at the front so he can still see it easily, but I can also move it to get to other things more easily. Anyway, you've inspired me and now I need wire bins!

We got all new towels when we moved into our house. Dark brown goes with our beachy bathroom decor best. We don't stick to a certain style though, we have the same color towels from 3 differing brands. I wish we had all the same, but we wanted to see which ones were the best! I also got several that don't match for our wedding and we keep those for random things that need cleaned up. White might be easier to keep clean than colored though! I already have a bleach handprint on a new grey towel!

The white have been so easy to keep cleaned & sanitized! I just add about 1/4 cup of bleach to each load.

Wow! When you were sorting I had no idea that was going to be your give away pile!!! Holy cow! I wish I could shop at your Goodwill to get all your goodies😉😬

Lol I was trying hard to minimize what we were storing away in there!

Watching this (again) since I’m struggling with my deep hall closet. I use the top three shelves for pantry storage and the lower three for extra soap, shampoo, deodorant, candles, etc. A separate hall closet (designed as a coat closet) holds the towels and paper products on a janky plastic shelf to try to get some stacking capacity.

Nice! I gift myself new towels every year when Kohls has their $10 off $25 coupon. The towels are always on sale when that coupon comes out. I buy 10 of each size in the same color. They end up costing a little less than $75 and brings so much happiness! I donate the old ones to the animal shelter.

Loved all the bins and the way you organized with them looks so neat and clean. Question how do you store all your sheets blankets comforters stuff like that? I struggle to keep them all together and not falling out when I open the door lol

We don’t really keep extras of those things. I wash the bed sheets & duvet covers once a week and I always just put them back on the bed when they come out of the dryer

Ugh. 😩 I have the same closet, but the door, including hinge, is set inside the frame, so when you open it you lose about 3" of width to actually access it. There's a good amount of space, but being so deep and having such narrow access to it makes it such a pain in the ass. It feels like I'll never get it organized properly. Yours looks awesome now! I love the organizers you chose!
