Kristen McGowan how do you keep your white sheets so perfectly white?

I recommend moving the vacuum bags to the top shelf as there is more height to be able to store the bags vertically for easier access. Also they are not reached for as often as the paper towels and t.p. are.

Don't you just love it when a plan comes together. It looks beautiful

Funny story about the vacuum bags...I put a King winter comforter in one and was able to store under the bed! I was really proud of myself, until our cat discovered it. We heard her claws popping holes in the bag and the bag expanded back. We had to lift the box springs and mattress to get the comforter back out! Lol 😹

I moved using them, but I didn't think to protect the bags. Yep, got to the new place 3 days and 1200 miles later to all the bags being popped. Oops! I suggest either using the observed sets or just putting multiple bags in bins, depending on your space and access needs.

Ha! That happened to the bag we put under the guest bed for it's winter linens. I had no clue it happened until I realized the bed looked lopsided. Sure enough when I went to slide out the bag for winter it was stuck. I didn't realize one of my cats did it until I saw all the holes. The cats are no longer allowed upstairs.

For the sheets that are used so often, fold one set that isn’t being used and store it between the mattress and box springs. When you take the sheets off to wash, you can pull out the clean sheets. No need to go any place else in the house. Seasonal items like flannel sheets can be stored in the linen closet. Saves a ton of space in the linen closet and makes changing the sheets faster.

Finally, someone who gets it right!

When I fold my sheets I place them in the pillow case for storage! You are so organized! Love upgrade videos!

Very cute organising techniques for young singles. I also store my family’s linen ( single, double, queen, cot) in matching linen in matching pillow cases. I also add a dryer sheet in each bag fir freshness.

Came for a folding tutorial and was not disappointed!

I live in an 1830 build home with no linen closets but... I like all you did with... The folding of sheets, I will be doing that...also the baskets are so nice and huge...the big bags never seemed to work for me, the plugs never stay on tight and the bag starts taking in air...but I like the idea if they’d work...(maybe I’m buying wrong ones?) Great Job tfs👍💕😎

Personally I buy all white sheets & pillowcases. That way if one item wears out (usually the fitted sheet first) I can just work in a new replacement without any trouble. You can always bleach out any stains if a presoaker doesn’t work. I buy all white basic dishes too for the same reason.

Very practical to buy all one color! You can add lace edging, monogramming, embroidery to make them special. Wish I had thought of that years ago!!!

Nice! We’ve only ever had two sheet sets for each bed. But what you did was amazing!

Hi Kristen, have you heard about the Konmari method? There's a part where she says the right amount of things will fit easily in the space, no squishing needed! If there's not enough space, its worth double checking if everything is needed. ;) Another big help with my organization was The Minimalists blog, I've been organizing for 10 years now and reading everything I can on the subject, it can be awfully intimidating, trying to decide what to keep and how much is enough or too much, I'm always purging as new things come in.. (especially since having a baby!) Its been such a huge life changer for me, I'd love for you to experience this too. I've recently came across your channel and am so impressed with your decor taste, especially your balcony and the rattan finds you come across. I'm looking forward to your next videos :) Thank-you for sharing! S

I just recently moved into a new place and now that I’ve been here for some time I realise what a mess all the cabinets and closets are (unpacked just to get it done) and your videos are saving my life

The sheet sets folded look great!! Another great tip is to use one of the pillowcases to put the set inside it to keep the set together xx

We finally bought our house! I mentioned it one of the comments last month. I have been watching all of your videos to keep myself organized and motivated. I can't thank you enough and when I get it all figured out I'll take pictures of it. I scaled back to two sets for every bed, one set on and the other set and a spare blanket in a plastic bin under the bed. Now I use the linen closet for extra towels and spare beauty and cleaning products.

Great job!!! What a transformation! I love how you fold the fitted sheets. Now you need a system to keep it that way! I change bed sheets every Monday morning and every bed in the house only have 2-3 sets available. The rest is donated/tossed... so if a new bedsheet is bought, an old one has to go! They get folded right away after laundry (kid's chores) and I am a little obsessed with ironing all pillow cases once per week (but normal people can bypass that part lol). It's SO easy to keep it all nice this way!

It looks very nice. I store the paper towels with the wrap to prevent any dust on them.

I do that too, keeps a sheet set together in a pillow case package so the sheets go inside one of the pillow cases like a pillow would.

Omg you actually have linens in your linen closet! I've been looking for ways to organize my linens, but all these other videos just had toilet paper rolls in fancy baskets 🤣

Thanks for your tips. I have one for you; Next time you wash your sheets, fold them like you do but store them in the matching pillowcase for a neat, compact bundle that doesn't go everywhere if dropped or moved in the closet.

You should see my family’s linen closet: 32 years of marriage worth of sheets/covers/towels/hand towels/etc (parents are boomers and slight hoarders)….even folded and organized, it’s stuffed to the brim.

Kristen McGowan I sort my sheets similar, but not exactly the same. I fold 1 pillowcase, fitted then flat sheet, then put those 3 items into the 2nd pillowcase

try using a sachet of cedar chips or a bounce sheet. Keeps the linens smelling really nice. Nice redo!

Great tips! This is my project for this weekend

I purged all of my abundance of sheets & blankets. I decided that I only need 2 sheet sets per bed. When I am washing one set, I remake the bed with the 2nd set. Wash & repeat. It has kept me more organized & takes up less space.

I fold the fitted and the flat sheet as well as one pillow case then stuff everything into the other pillow case. Like this I don't have any of my sheets unfolding or going all over the place and I can see the color/pattern of the sheets
