Yes, please! I want to thank you, for your videos. I love seeing things that people can do in rentals and in their own homes that are not permanent. Especially for someone like myself, that loves to change things up a lot. I will be looking forward to seeing more.

Where is the link to the balcony curtains?
The first thing I would do, before removing all of your “ improvements “ is ask the landlord if you could leave your “improvements “. They certainly enhanced the look of the apartment and it might save you a lot of time not having to remove anything.

@kbolling79 I used to think that way. Now, I feel that if I created a home, enjoyed the addition as a tenant, and the landlord sees it as enough of a plus to keep it, I have gotten my money's worth. Bless the next person with it.

I rent from a corporation in The Netherlands. Taking into account that every aparment I rented had no floors, no ceiling lights (only wires sticking out), no kitchen appliances, walls with layers of wallpaper riddled with holes and so the freedom of choosing the flooring I want, paint the walls in whatever colors I choose... if and when I move I take my own stove, fridge and washing machine, negotiate with the next tenant if they want to buy the floor from me.... I just feel like landlords are much stricter than corporations. I can basically do anything I want. And when I moved into my most recent apartment I got a brand new kitchen counter for free (and I got to choose from like 25 samples) because the old counter was almost falling apart. Living and renting in this country is very different, but it's so cool to see what you do with your space!

No floors?
@lesanimaux4416
20 күн бұрын
@@K.Spade7902 Nope. In two occasions it was just bare concrete. The previous tenants took the floor with them. I installed my own floor and six years later sold it to the next tenant, so it really depends on the person whether you have flooring or not.
I know how to install wallpaper. What I'm interested in seeing is if it actually removes without taking paint or chunks of drywall with it. If you've had success in removal, I'd love to see that AND know what brand of wallpaper you used. TX!

Wallpaper glue is ruthless with surfaces. It either damages the surface when removing or leaves it all sticky because of the glue and it's a nightmare to clean.

Thank you so much. We're a military family and i struggle with decorating. I promised my girls they could decorate their next room, and this is so helpful
Thanks for sharing your ideas! If I may suggest for the privacy patio curtains, you can forgo the bottom clothesline altogether. Instead, you can use magnets. Simply put small magnets inside the bottom seam of the curtains. The magnets will stick to the metal rail.
Balcony Curtains?! OMG! I am sooo doing this project. TYSM
the cane lamp over the boob light is so creative! amazing!!
For your faux Roman shade, if you don’t like to sew, you can always use stitch witchery tape, available in any craft or sewing store, or even Walmart. This is how I hem everything! You still have to measure and fold over whatever edges you want to finish. The stitch witchery tape gets placed under the folded edge and then you press with a hot iron! Couldn’t be easier. And then you also don’t have any visible stitches.

It would have been helpful to show how to smooth the caulk with a wet finger for people who have never used caulk. You might also tell people to make sure their caulk is paintable if the are going to paint.
Wow! You have amazing ideas and I just subscribed! The ONLY suggestion I would make is to not only show the project, but step back and show a zoomed out view of what the room looks like after … and stay on it for 3-4 seconds or so. On a few of them you showed a zoomed out of the finished project but for only a quick second. You do such a nice job … would love to take a few more moments to show the final result (or a longer before and after final result).
We are home owners, but I seriously lack home improvement skills and the tools. I love you hacks. I think even I can do them!
Oh, you snapped. I’m subscribing. 🤩 EDIT: Someone’s FINALLY showing how to disguise the boob light without completely switching out the light fixture. I love you now 😭😭😭 Best *truly* renter friendly video I’ve seen. 👍❤ 2ND EDIT: And how to hide the blinds 😭😭😭
@MicrowavedTofu

I always just take the blinds down and hang my own. Stack the plastic pieces together and secure w a couple rubber bands. Just make sure whatever shows on the outside is white.(My lease said something about that once)

This is great for homeowners, too! It makes it east to change if you get tired if a look.❤😂 thank you so much!!
Edge banding on the light shade, GENIUS!! I'm totally doing this to my ceiling fan.
The button and board was genius 👌🏼
I'm a renter and absolutely loved all of your hacks. You are truly talented. Thank you for the information. I will definitely be doing many of the projects you have done.
These ideas are fantastic! Not to mention much cheaper than the real deal ehich is great because switching thongs up would be a breeze & not break the bank. These are by far the best renter hacks I've seen. I adore the entry way you did! Thanks gor sharing!💕😊
I am a landlord and moderate a few for rent groups in my area. I've posted articles like this because I know renters want to make their rental their home but still want their deposit back, of course lol I may share this to the groups, if that's OK. Thanks for these ideas.
Great ideas. I've searched a lot of these videos, mostly with the same ideas, over and over again. The beadboard and board and batten are the most original ideas that I've ever seen. Not to forget the overhead light covers over those hideous lights. This is the first time that you've popped up in my searches. I'm already a fan and a new subscriber.
Love what you did in this video, amazing. Could you film the finished projects for longer, love seeing the before and after difference.
They look nice but how do you safely remove the wood you put up? Command strips are meant to be pulled straight down or else they rip the paint off & damage the wall.

I love the basket over light fixture .Thanks for the tip!love your videos.😊
Ive been wanting to do SOMETHING.....ANYTHING....to make my apartment more "homey" & more inviting, but our lease states we cant make a bunch of holes in the walls or do any painting, either. I'd love to do some kind of stenciling on the walls to add some artistic flair...after watching this video, I think I will finally be able to some of that so it wont destroy the walls & then can be easily removed when I can move! Thank you for sharing & youve gained a new subscriber!

Absolutely!! Mine also says nothing more than nail holes in the wall, but honestly, as long as you take the care and effort to remove all the changes and fill the holes with spackle, it is fine. I'm certain that clause is only in there because some people would just move out, leaving all the damage behind.

When I was young and renting an apartment, the landlord said if I painted, I would lose the deposit. I stayed long enough that I didn't care, so I painted and did many things to make the apartment more like home. It was so worth it to me and my family. Yes, I lost the deposit.
For the outlet and lightswitch plate covers, inexpensive to a bit more expensive foam insulation for these can be used for a bit of insulation. Plastic childproof outlet covers can be used. The outiet covers have the oval foam punch outs, which slits can be made and placed over the plastic caps. Great for adding a bit extra insulation. Especially for some outside walls in which when the outlet, light switchplate covers are removed, drafts of air are too cold in the winters. Not a whole house insulation solution, but on the inexpensive, easy to do list of inside insulation projects.
Awesome hacks Girl!! I own my house but I think I’m going to use your idea for board and batten in my long hallway. Seems like it will be easier to do vs caulk the vertical lines of the wall boards, sand them down and then paint. And i dont know how to rewire the boob lights so adding a basket or my choice of materials will be much easier!
Thank you so much. This is exactly what I was looking for and it makes me feel so much more hopeful about decorating options in a rental🤗❤️❤️
What a creative talent you have! Loved all your projects!
7 ish years ago removable bead board was put up, granted not with command hooks but something similar. The adhesive had been on so long it kidna welded to the wall and damaged it when it came off. Spackle fixed it right up and it wasn’t major but it was annoying. I don’t think the adhesive used in products like command hooks and wallpapers are intend to stay up for years at a time, but they do keep the damages down when renovating.
