In 2013, I was sitting at a computer at the Library when an elderly woman sat at the pc next to me. She asked me if I like classic movies and I said that I love them. She told me that she has interviewed legendary actors in Hollywood. She then introduced herself as Skip E. Lowe. I say 'she' out of respect because she was wearing make-up and women's clothing. I recognized the name, but had never seen these interviews. They are amazing! RIP Skip 🙏🖖

Maggie May Flynn tells a story that Linda had a gap at the side of her teeth and she needed a tooth replaced when he met her and he sent her to his dentist in London and he got a bill for thousands and his dentist told him she had all her teeth done - I guess filled - and years after when he saw her, he said to her when she avoided speaking to him, " Smile honey. Linda had previously written in the 40s that Lana Turner had mistreated her on set. Lana heard about it, shocked, because she had never done such a thing. Lana sat down with Tyrone Power, who had been the love of her life and said “is there another women.” Tyrone simply said “yes.” That woman was Linda Christian. Linda had done whatever possible to take away from Lana’s happiness. I’m shocked that the previous comments are so oblivious.

  • @b.walker5955

This is how I understood it: Lana planned a going away party for Tyrone as he was contracted to film overseas. She spent a fortune ($50K) and went all out on the party and decorations. She flew in tropical orchids and expensive elaborate decor. She was setting the scene...as she knew he was going to propose to her that night before hi left-they had been so happy, inseparable. During the party, Tyrone just disappeared (Lana would not see him again that night). This is the same period of time Linda speaks of calling Tyrone's hotel room in Rome for the autograph (her very words here in the video, it was an explosion of love at first sight). Tyrone immediately proposed to Linda (just as she said here) Lana would learn when the headlines came out that Linda Christian was to be his wife and that is how Lana learned of Linda. ~ well at least that is how I understood it from Lana's story. Wonder which is correct?

Linda Christian, the original Bond woman, the most beautiful of the Bond women. Even in her old age, she is beautiful. The way she speaks, the slightest movement in her face, and her obvious intelligence and classiness. So, of course the handsomest actor in Hollywood proposes immediately, who can blame him? Is there such a thing as the ultimate woman? If so, it would be Linda Christian.

The story Lana told (if you want to believe it), is the following: Lana was in love with Tyrone, he impregnated her, she told him and he left it up to her if she wanted to keep it. He had to leave town and they had a code that if she had an abortion she would say "I found the house" this would be as he was flying with Ceasar Romero and one other guy I cannot remember. If she had the abortion she would say "I did not find the house" . Well, Lana did have the abortion and she contacted him to tell him that. Lana said the studio was trying to keep them apart and had pushed Power into marrying Christian!!! Lana said she asked him what was wrong was there someone else, she had yet to learn of Linda Christian, he said yes! So you can draw two conclusions from Lana's account which she told on Phil Donahue 1984 either Power aS a snooze and let the studio dictate his life to him or he was a louse and never cared two boots for Lana or his baby.......

I knew Tyrone was involved with Judy Garland, and she aborted his baby, or so the celebrity gossip goes. I never knew about Lana. Artie Shaw broke her heart too. I read Lana aborted Mickey Romney's kid as well. You have to wonder, if fate had been different, if she and Tyrone had married, would they have been happy.

I like the closeups on both the host Skip, and his guest, Linda Christian. Other talk shows seem to prefer shooting their camera up the short skirts of women being interviewed. His style is a bit hyper but still respectful as although he inquires into the personal he doesn't push his guests too hard to reveal more than they are comfortable speaking about. He definitely interrupts the guest more frequently than do other hosts to ask another question but nevertheless his guests seem okay with his style and at ease to be conversational despite his rapid back and forth. Maybe too it works so well because mostly the stars Skip interviewed became famous during the Hollywood of the 40's, 50's and 60's and so were rarely still asked to be interviewed on other talk shows. They enjoyed reminiscing with Skip because he remembered and appreciated them and those eras of Hollywood.

You hit the nail on the head. Skip E's shows were public access. No one got paid and they actually cost him money. Everyone who ever appeared on his show was there because they wanted to be and that's why his show lasted for 35 years.

Linda had "other" talents. Read James Bacon's two books of his accounts of being a reporter in Hollywood for 50 years, even though he may have embellished his tales (he was an Irishman after all). Still, a strong element of truth.

What was I doing at age 16? At age 15 I successfully created the first time machine. I traveled back to the days of the Vikings and had a wonderful time with Olaf the Conqueror attacking villages and drinking tons of ale (they even made me a little battle ax and tiny armor!). Unfortunately someone mistook me for a ammunition and launched me with a catapult. I landed badly on my head (but at least I wiped out several enemy sheep). Due to that brain injury I became profoundly stupid. Fortunately, the time machine was programmed to automatically return me to the present time but due to a misplaced semi-colon in the code, self-destructed taking the design plans with it so I have no proof. I lived out the rest of my life as an ordinary computer programmer until last year when I died during a bad flamingo racing accident. Even on my last day, I still had a fond passion for pillaging.
