Back in January, I sent @Prodbykala a quick little meme video of myself playing a sadboi acoustic rendition of Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit. "It's just one of those days, where you don't wanna wake up..." The more that rolled around my head, the more I realized what needed to be done:
A full, super emo, version.
So here's Limp Bizkit's classic Break Stuff, with black nail polish and skinny jeans, Actually, it has neither of those things. I kind of don't have a sense of fashion at all, now that I think of it. I'm like aesthetic celery. I did have a broken rib when I filmed this though, so that's gotta add some authenticity yeah?

I never realized how much I loved layered bridges like it’s 2006 until this. You took possibly the most meaningful, poetic lyric of the last 25 years (about power tools being used to cause bodily harm to posteriors) and finally give it the gravitas it deserves. I love what you do, Todd!

Thank you so dang much Adam! Those layered '06 bridges are my LIFE, and are actually what inspired the earlier phases of this channel! Back when I would do mashups / medleys that would eventually overlap, like White Woman's Instagram x MakeDamnSure. I miss doing that. I wonder if I'll feel inspired to do those again any time soon haha Appreciate the crap outta you!

@Todd Barriage Well, you succeeded in spades! Best believe I passed your vid along to the guys in my tribute. Like me, they were blown away with just how well it works! Truthfully, if this were to have come out in 2005, and I had never heard of Bizkit, I would've been jamming this non-stop. It fits the Emo mold perfectly. 10/10
I love how you rewrite these from the ground up and dont just add some screams and a new style of distortion. Excellent!

I had to click this video because some days ago I heard somebody talk about this song by Limp Bizkit I never heard of. This concept is just genius, but the flawless execution takes this into divine territory.
I unironically love this because it conveys the feeling of pain behind anger. I sometimes I have these terribly furious mood swings where I do indeed wanna break stuff (and I have in the past lol), but it's not fun or cathartic or just arrogantly edgy; it's agonising, both because of whatever the trigger was and because I then have to worry about the temptation to do something destructive I know I will regret. In fact, I felt that way just today and this helped me get through it :)
@toddbarriage
Жыл бұрын
I’m so sorry that you go through that, but I’m glad my cover of this song could help validate what you go through, and help you with it today 💙 I deal with the same stuff, I actually recorded part of this cover with a broken rib because I couldn’t suppress a meltdown faster than it could make me need to break something. I was near a bunch of glass, and I’m not gonna break a window or punch a wall or whatever, so realistically my options were me or the floor. So I threw myself downward, and obviously the floor won, it’s a floor lmao. I’m just grateful I have the sense to at least channel the destruction inward when it hits like that. Though I’d rather it just… not happen. Ever, y’know? I mean I know you know. That was way more words and way more personal than I expected this comment to be but I already typed it so I’m just gonna wish you an incredible week and hit send :)

your channel cought my attention after seeing whenwewereyoung video. damn, you're so good in so many ways. those fries and hitting high notes, I think I might lose my heterosexuality. but seriously, the way you re-imagined the whole song, wtf how this came to your head, nu-metal is so different, I can't imagine to blend it together. but you did. and yeah you did a great job reconstructing fred durst vocal style. I've been through limpbizkit-ish era in 99-01 and emo phase 03-07. gosh, I like what I saw and what I did. the nostalgia hits different everytime like it's all happend in past but paralel lifes. vibing to emo rap 5 years ago and watching the rise of new wave pop punk last 2 years - I just wanna say, you are making really beatiful in all means content. I can see how much you love what you do. just keep up doing this, you came a long way evolving from doing covers to what you're doing now. it's pretty unique. and yeah, I'm gonna rip this chorus and make a chill lofi version of this song

@@toddbarriage so nostalgic and amazing
First video I randomly found on a 3 hour binge of music, you've set some high bars for your next songs haha. Subbed, this is great. The raining blood one is pretty awesome too. (currently listening as I came back to type this comment haha.)

What an amazing remix of Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit that I wasn't expecting to sound like this. But, in a good, yet annoyed way.

Honestly, this perfectly encapsulates the truth behind my smol rage. I have plenty of it, but people always look at me like that pic of a kirby plushie with a knife.

@@toddbarriage Finally! Someone I can intimidate!
This is now the definitive version of this song, and the gold standard to which I must now compare all other covers. Fuck that was sick!
Man, I’m absolutely obsessed with your work. You’re bringing creativity to a whole new level!
Todd so glad to have found your channel my dude
"I don't feel so good, Mr. Stark" omfg 😂 everyone needs to turn on the CC, watched some others with Spider-Man references in the CC. I've been bingeing your vids, loved that the '1999 but pop punk' vid had the songs listed and random facts, I felt that was missing from the 1998 one. New sub from me!

Hey, thank you so much! V happy you've discovered / enjoy the subtitles, they're a lot of fun 💙 also the song titles & fun facts were in 1998 too :) there were just more songs so they flew by faster haha but they're there!
the fact that you actually got fred durst to make a cameo is amazing!
Imagine trying to sound threatening but also sound like this at the same time 😂
