Been playing this nonstop ever since my grandfather died. After he died, my mom’s beatings gotten worse. I can heavily relate to the lyrics. The first time I really heard this song was in 2003. It was on an airplane, this song was playing when all the passengers were about to board. That was 20 years ago...I'm 30 years old now and I was 10 years old at the time when I heard this song with my mother. Since that day I associate this song with a lot of things, as soon as I hear it I always see myself on the plane with my mother....how quickly time flies. As a child I wanted to grow up quickly and now as an adult I want to be a child again. Rest in peace mom

My husband lost his battle with himself and passed away 11 years ago. This song use to speak to him on so many lvls. I wish I could show him his beautiful daughter who is 16 now. Emotionally abused as a kid, had to lie all the time to protect myself and that made me the bad man...joined military and went through horrible things...came back not myself and wanted to go back, guys in my unit were taking their lives and leadership turned us all against each other...got out...10 years went by and still alone. This song is fitting to describe me. My parents still the same so no relationship. Never had anyone to turn to. I keep it all inside but im still here alive. Wish i could find a person to lean on but have yet to find one. And just turned 30. Used to guard Air Force One in DC. Part of me wishes I had not made it back home from Afghanistan so someone else could have. Can anyone relate? Because too many take me for granted

The color blue is usually associated with sadness. So many times I've seen people say this song is meant for those with blue eyes. Depression is a silent and effective assassin. Exposure is it's kryptonite, sadly like an abusive partner it holds its victims hostage through fear and shame. It even pits it's victims against those who could help by planting seeds of irrational resentment. If you are suffering please don't hold it in, tell somebody trustworthy what you are going through so you can get the help you so deserve. For the rest of us It's our job to stay vigilant and make sure we give our loved ones every opportunity to ask for help

Recently going through the loss of my wife who decided I am no longer worth her love, I didn't realize how much I've been bottling up my feelings, trying to remain "strong" until I just read your post. Hiding my feelings has not been easy, yet it's what's constantly encouraged to the point of ridiculousness. "Stay strong", and "You'll be OK" are the two most common comments I hear, constantly. Why do I have to stay strong? When am I going to be OK? I just lost the love of my life. I've never felt more weak and powerless in my entire life. I know I'll eventually recover, but why do I have to rush it, or try to ignore it? Why do I have to stay strong? Because I'm a man? I feel like I'm bottling up my feelings and staying "strong" so the people around me feel better. How is that helping me? All I'm doing is making their lives easier. Fuck them. I'm sad and miserable and I need to be! If they don't like it I'll just avoid them so they won't have to shed a tear for me. I don't need anyone's pity. I just need to let my feelings out. If I have to do it alone then so be it. Thank you for opening my eyes.

Jesus Christ. I am 31 and I am from Russia. When I used to ask mom what's so awesome there, she replied she just like a clip. Now I'm listening to it and can't stop crying. I understand the point. She doesn't speak English but her soul felt all what was sang there. It's amazing. It's God's trick - the music.

You're right. It is a masterpiece. I used to listen to it over and over after I finished my time as a paratrooper in the Army and was trying to adjust to civilian life. It perfectly expressed how I felt.
