My dad used to play his guitar and sing this song to me when I had to go to his house late at night because my mom was having parties and doing drugs (shes sober now). He passed away March 9th 2018, every time I hear this song it brings back so many memories and it hurts so bad to know he's gone. I'm happy he isnt hurting anymore, I miss him so much. His last words were "I love you."

At least he's not in pain anymore and he was there for you through thick and thin that's what dad's are for. Stay strong for him he needs you to be strong he wants you to grieve, but he also wants you to be happy. I lost someone this year too

This song used to fill my heart with so much love in the past. I drive a truck across the country (US) and when I was away from my precious wife and 5 kids for 2-3 weeks at a time. I did this for a year. I used to sing this to her every single day. It was amazing how much we were in love. I loved coming home into her arms. But sadly in 2016 she passed away with lung cancer, now this song is a two edged sword in my heart. It warms my heart thinking of our 30 years together, but it cuts deep and I bleed with sorrow missing her.

My husband loved this song. We used to take a yearly vacation on a houseboat with friends. The last vacation, he played this album/song over and over for 7 days. We were ready to steal it from him. He died a sudden and unexpected death at the age of 40. It took me YEARS to listen to it without crying. I no longer cry when I hear it. I now see him with that beer in his hand, in his wakeboard shorts, standing on the roof of that houseboat, living and LOVING his life and all that was surrounding him. Though his life was short, he probably lived more in those 40 years than most people do in a lifetime. And THAT is what immediately comes to mind when I hear this song.......along with a huge smile on my face and with so much gratitude that he was in my life. He was one hell of a good human being and I say that not because I was his wife. I say it because the world lost a very good soul the day he died. As I sit here and listen to it now, it occurs to me how much this song applies to my story. The circle of life....One dies and another is born. I hold on to the fact that when he took his last breath, he knew how very much he was loved. I wish that for everyone. Thank you for allowing me to share this most treasured memory.

When this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - In the Moment” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I feel you KDCoaster Chick :(( I've been there...I know how it feels. Life goes on. The quest for finding the right one doesn't end there. It's better to try and fail than to fail to try. Some things are beyond our control. Things may not always turn out the way we want them to be. Loving someone doesn't guarantee that the feelings will be equally reciprocated neither does it give us the license to "own" that person. Someday when we would finally meet "the right one", we'll realize why it never worked out with anyone.

When this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - The Chess Piece” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. We married February 10th 1996 and she passed away on July 20th 2018 after a battle with ovarian cancer. This is our 4th anniversary since she passed and not a day goes by that I don't think about her and as the song says she's still with me in my dreams. I'm eternally thankful for all the years we had, the memories and the son we made together, and the love that we shared. Here is a little story I would like to tell. I took my wife to a three doors down concert on our third date. It was at Georgia southern university's football field. It was really cold out in the bleachers, but it didn't matter. We couldn't leave until kryptonite was played. As we were glazing at each other in agreement, it came up. I walked into club in Key west Fl, and a singer guitar player was playing this and during the chorus EVVERBODY in the place sang it. There were many tears and hugs. It was a very powerful moment.
