Lilly Lake Trail | South Lake Tahoe (2024)

The Lilly Lake Trail is a technical and demanding descent down from Angora Ridge towards Lilly Lake in South Lake Tahoe. It starts out with some fast straight sections, followed by many tight switchbacks as it descends down the mountain, with technical rock features throughout. The trail features some of the best rock work I've ever ridden, with the jewel of the trail about 2/3rds of the way down, a path built from stone across a scree slope (04:37). The trail is also popular with hikers, so I recommend riding it during weekdays.

It's a tough but very rewarding trail to ride. Many slower speed, balance-y sections in between faster flowy sections. Plus the rock work is incredible!
damn at times its even hard to tell where the trail in...that super rocky section with big boulders was LONG. Looks fun - those lake views at the top were amazing.

Yeah I got surprised a few times riding the trail as it's harder to follow in the rocky sections. Super unique trail though. I'd love to get more time on it to learn all the features.
Killer looking trail!! I will be there is 2 weeks and plan to ride it. Funny how the cobble all the rocks together making the 'chunk' pretty cruiser

It’s a good one, challenging and definitely worth a visit if you’re in SLT. My only recommendation would be to try to ride it during the week so the hiker traffic is a little less intense.
