I lost my dad when I was 10. Since then every time I make a bad choice or I'm about to make one I think to my self "what would he do" then I make it right. Iv spent 6 years trying to make him proud. But I couldn't do it with out knowing he would be proud of the man I'm becoming. He has lifted me up even tho he hasn't been here. I thank him every day for helping me in my hardest times.

Look I think that your dad would be proud of you if you are proud of yourself. You are just like your dad but in a small and young version. If you make a choice that you think is right don't worry because your dad would do the same thing. I think like that because I proof to myself that I am like my dad. So be strong. I don't care if you Owen won't read this but I am writing this to everyone else looking and reading your own comment!

Thank you, Walter. I wasn't raised by my dad. I had a rough life of abuse by men in the stepdad role. I had a stepdad since I was five and he passed away in 2021. I am a father of 2 boys and a lot of the time I feel lost and depressed. I am appreciative of any time I come across a video like this. Thank you again.

This has really touched me. My boy is 13 months old and he looks just like me when I was a baby. I feel like my little boy is just me all over again. I work nights and I am often sleep deprived but when I see him stood over his cot with his arms out making noises to get my attention..I am picking my boy up! I don’t care how tired I am, I don’t care what pressures I might have..I am picking my boy up!

My dad never taught me a damn thing about being a man. Instead, he physically abused me. Now I have a son. I'm the one who will break the cycle. I'm the one who will dedicate my entire life to raising my son. I'm the one who will teach my son what it means to be a man in this world. I swear on my life, if I only do one thing right in this world, it will be making my baby boy into a good person and a good man. Nothing in this world can change that fact. I've never had a stronger feeling about anything in life. This is why I'm here.

I've always been a dad. I had my daughter at 15. I'm 51 and my son(10) lives here with me(single) My 22 year old son is in the air force. Stationed In Hawaii. Support is what they need. Support them everyday in every way possible. They will do what they SEE you do. So when they become a dad... they too will support their son. Just like you did. Never spank your child....EVER. they learn NOTHING. They look to you for guidance not vengeance. They will do what they see you do. Not what you tell them to do. So be the best version of yourself. Always take time to listen to your child. Treat them as equals not below you. It's the most important thing after loving them. Theres only a few short years between you and your child. And you dont know everything. Be humble. Be supportive of their dreams.

Change your perspective young man.. you didn't lose a father, you gained a guardian angel, he lives in you.. you have his genetics, his blood, his strengths, his lineage... You are him. If you ever need him, look in the mirror, he's with you at all times. Talk to the night sky, he'll be there to listen. Take everything you learned from him and apply it forth, look for role models and other men you admire. It takes a village to raise a child. You are never alone, we are here with you. Open yourself and your fears, other men will cheer you on. We got you.

My father was similar, but one thing he didn't provide much of for me was, Spiritual leadership. He gave me a lot of tools for life, but didn't do well in that category. In that category of life, I know where I am supposed to be, in union with God. And I will be wholistic in teaching my children and not fail to also provide spiritual leadership.

Father of twin boys, 3 months old, and this video reminded me that I want to be a great father not because I didn’t receive something as a kid, not because my father wasn’t a great father, but because he IS a great father. I sit here 24 years old and can recognize the sacrifices, the hard work he still gives to my mother and sisters. All things I want to be a new dad, and just life changes when you see your kid(s) for the first time and just what a nice, emotional reminder of why I love being a father.

@@nbafanboy8146 it comes 8 months late, and for that I’m sorry. I hope the last 8 months have given you the time you needed to help heal and go through all the stages of grief. I type this hoping you’re at the point of realization your father lives on through you. We should never fear death, death is peaceful and the only way to end this crazy idea we call life. We should fear being forgotten, that’s what we truly fear. And if you’re missing your father every day, then your dad will never be truly gone. He had nothing to fear going to the other side, because he will always be around through people who love him as if he is still physically here.

Challenge yourself with some concepts about manhood, explore your masculine potential to the maximum and become the kind of man you would admire. We can only better ourselves together, as men among men, so I invite you to use what I share and, of course, share your own opinions so that others can benefit from them as well. Looking forward to your points of view. All the best to you!

This video reminds me of a sad fact I was once told. Someday, each father will pick up their child and set them down, never to pick them up again. So enjoy every time you pick up you child. Do so with the knowledge that there are a finite number of times you will hold them like that. And that you will likely not realize the last time as the last. I've asked many fathers of older children if they remember the last time they picked up their child. Often they don't. To me, this means we should treat each one like the last, as you never know if it will be.

Here's several things for making a great speech: Give yourself plenty time. Begin writing. Put down anything - that's an improvement on than empty paper! Ask for help from family. You don't need to do it by yourself take advantage of ready made speech outlines. Practise in front of severl people and ask for their opinions. (I learned about these and more on Turbo template tactic website )

I played it on our virtual program as part of activities 'Juneteenth' & ' Father's Day" coming up for our Differing Disabilities Adult. We all very impressed with the "Where are you supposed to be?". I asked all of them on virtual session. First, one guy told me "I don't know". Then, I said if anybody ever asked you again, where are you supposed to be? Then the answer is "MELWOOD". Then, they can remember always www.melwood.org
