Lightbar Highlight: Whelen Edge 9000- Chicago PD

This is a demonstration of my authentic Chicago Police Department Whelen Edge 9000.. Chicago PD had fairly basic versions of the 9000 (no flashers, etc). However, they did have a fairly unique feature in that they replicated the vehicle's Stop-Turn-Tail lights on the back of the bar. So anytime the brakes were applied, the red lights would illuminate on the back of the bar as well. This is a feature that Chicago still has on their newer bars, and an option that some other departments around the country have since adopted.
Fun Fact: Chicago also attached the vehicle's beat tag to the lightbars as well. The beat tag you see in my video is not a replica- it is an actual beat tag provided by a retired CPD officer.

Great collection piece even if it’s very simple. An Edge 9000 from Chicago in this condition must be a nice thing to brag or show about lol. Great demo.

Thank you, and you are right!! As much as I like ALL of my bars in my collection for one reason or another, I really appreciate the ones that I know the history about. Knowing that this is a legit Chicago bar, AND a legit beat tag makes this one special to me- even if the bar itself is pretty basic. Thanks for watching!
I started driving in 1996. These strobing behind you gave you a heart attack ! Nothing worse than driving home on a warm Chicago night and BOOM ! Blue strobes blinding you !!! OHHHHHH NOOOOOOO LOL

my dads frist crown vic had that bar with more bells and whistles on it without the brake lights still mad they wouldnt let me keep the old one when they upgraded his cruiser to led
