If you have the ability to do so, I’d highly recommend challenging yourself to put together some sort of short film! We spent about six hours writing, shooting and editing this short film, and it was some of the best fun I’ve had in the past couple of months. Even if you live alone, there’s so much to learn from putting some ideas down on paper and trying to make them a reality. And this really isn’t isolated advice for film makers, this can apply to any medium! Whether you’re a photographer, videographer, illustrator, animator, heck, even a web designer, you can do this. Spending time making something just for the fun of it is a great way to burn an afternoon having some fun and learn a few new tricks or sharpen the skills you’ve already got!
