Takes so much strength to pull that off. The guy is insanely strong. The gym I used to go to had one of these exact unliftable dumbbells and had a cash prize for anyone who could lift it. I could barely get it an inch off the ground before it slipped out of my hands. I saw huge 300 lbs. powerlifters struggle the same way. Never actually saw anyone pull it off. So yeah, that powerlifter guy is incredibly strong.

The variation of dumbbells is extremely useful for a small person like me kzread.infoUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 But the dumbbell size being large it's hard to do certain exercises like deadlift ( I have to have my hands and legs a bit wider to accommodate the size of the DB )Otherwise happy with the purchase. No excuse not to lift weight when it's snowing outside.
@MrLoowiz
2 ай бұрын
The handle being thick is the only reason it's so hard to lift that dumbbell. 73kg is not an out of this world weight to lift, especially considering the amount of people that can deadlift 150kg. I used to do calisthenics in my university, and one day a friend of mine invited me to train at a gym he was training in. The bars were thicker, I couldn't do anything, not even a single muscle up.

Wow. A dumbbell lifting challenge and a world champion lifter turns up! What a great feel good video, especially to end with a victory! It's like it was meant to be. Great content. This was made for all the dumb bell people out there.
Wholesome encounters, humble ones, smart ones, kickass ones.. This is so inspiring.
With grip events it's important to use as much friction as possible so good things to focus on are: 1. dry hands and implement (chalk preferably) 2. get as much skin as possible on the handle 3. If the forces are rotating: use thumb over to stop that even if it feels weaker, it is not. 4. no unnecessary movements: straight up and down is optimal so stand over the implement

The thick handle makes this task more focused on grip strength than arm, back, or leg strength. Most people don't spend time training their grip directly so it's no surprise not many people can lift this with one arm
@holliswilliams8426
