    @Deeroc25 Congratulations. I am delighted for you, truly, that you can soon retire in well-deserved tranquility, especially in Thailand, undoubtedly well-prepared and financially secure. Were it otherwise, you would already be there, not meticulously planning ahead, which undoubtedly takes time. As for myself, true retirement is still a few short years away. However, losing patience prematurely, as tempting as it may be (and it certainly would be in my case), is just as detrimental as indefinitely postponing such plans. It is imperative to plan meticulously, avoiding undue delay, and in the interim, ensure regular health check-ups. Many ailments only become threatening when disregarded, thereby obstructing early intervention. Embrace colonoscopies, attend to body weight and fitness, abandon smoking, and imbibe alcohol in moderation-preferably sparingly, but of exquisite quality. Each bothersome examination should be approached with the mindset of safeguarding one's dream, soon to be realized: retirement in Thailand. Wishing you abundant joy, as I have mentioned. You're nearly there!

    Time and again I see the guys who adjust to retiring in Thailand with the most success and happiness to be those who have relatively little family ties back to their home country (kids, siblings, aging parents, etc.). I do have those ties (for which I am blessed) so I could never move full time to Thailand but I am considering longer stays instead of vacations twice a year.

    My phone cost in America is about $60 a month. This gets me unlimited talk-text-data plus 15 GB of data if I use my phone as a hotspot. This is the Straight Talk $55 a month plan. Add another $100-$200 a year for the cost of having to owning a phone. Thats the best deal I could find for my needs.

    I just subscribed to your channel because I like your content. I generally agree with you. But in this one I could agree with you that women are not expected to be paid is definitely not true. I'm not talking about paying a gogo girl, but all Thai women expect to be paid a salary, the younger and better looking the more the price goes up. I don't judge but that's just the way things work here. Live your best life and be happy

  • @MargaritasinParadise

    @MargaritasinParadise

    Ай бұрын

    Of course, I appreciate your input but the fact is that not all women expect to be compensated. Some will even take it as an insult by even suggesting it. This is something that you have to feel your way through so to speak. Now, if you’re in an area like Pattaya then the odds go way up. I don't want sound like I know everything but this is my experience. In the case of "Brett" from the Brett saga that I did several videos on. He eventually met Aon through one of my girlfriends Aom at SCB bank. Brett was scared and expected to pay Aon but she made it clear, she didn't want his money, as she had her own. Additionally, as Brett found out later, Aon's family was well off as well. Now Aon is like 25 years old and probably a 9 in most guys eyes. Brett & Aon will likely get married this summer but I'm not 100% 🫰. When it comes to me, I don't want to come across as a player but I do see several women on a regular basis. I've been coming to Pattaya area since 2006 and my 1st trip to Thailand was in 1987. Probably 30%+ I do not compensate, though I feel like I'm generous in other ways. So some will say, you always pay whether directly or indirectly. I will say, that the video wasn't talking about women working in the "nightlife scene or massage" In general, it was talking about women 35 years and older with professional backgrounds. Also Welcome to the channel. I always appreciate critical feedback and great conversation.

    @@MargaritasinParadise Careful financial planning for retirement in Pattaya involves considering various expenses such as accommodation, healthcare, and cost of living. It is crucial to accumulate sufficient savings or secure alternative sources of income to finance the desired retirement lifestyle. Additionally, one should take into account tax implications and potential currency risks, and if necessary, seek professional financial advice. Your budget is absolutely realistic dear Tom ( 2000 Dollars per month are an absolut minimum I think) and fundamentally different from the often embellished assumptions of many expatriates.

  • @MargaritasinParadise

    I've considered changing my opinion on the minimum as well. I have many friends that live here on $1000 but it's not a choice for them. That's their available income stream. I couldn't do it. Even with my Condo & vehicles already paid for, my other expenses still touch my budget. Don't get me wrong. I don't struggle because I live in my means but I know many who are constantly struggling. Thanks for your Input.

    Your neglecting to talk about the pollution and the extreme heat that will keep you going to the hospital, everything sounds wonderful but how are you going to enjoy it if your sick most days, I've never been to Thailand but this is a common complaint about retiring there, how do you navigate those issues, stay in doors ?

  • @MargaritasinParadise

    @MargaritasinParadise

    3 ай бұрын

    Actually in this video I did talk about the extreme heat. I didn't point out the smog issues but you're definitely right. Smog is a seasonal issue here that generally happens February - May. As far as everybody going to the hospital because of these issues I don't personally see that. I think people will become climatized to the weather conditions and continue on with their life. Today's temperatures were 41° for instance and I went out and played 18 holes of golf. I do have friends though that only go out in the evenings when it's cooler and that possibly could be a topic for another video. Regardless I've touched on both of these topics many times in other videos and I'm sure that they'll come up again as well. I definitely appreciate your input and it just makes me think about how to make it more clear about the current conditions in Thailand. Thank you again.

    @@MargaritasinParadise The reality of climate change is indisputable and undeniable (for a seriously reasoned perspective): it is man-made and it exists. It will undoubtedly make life more challenging in the future: we'll pay more for food (there are currently shortages of seafood in Pattaya), more for electricity (air conditioning will require more power) - unless renewable energy from wind and solar becomes prevalent: the upfront costs here are far below those of fossil fuels. Healthcare will become more complex, insurance policies will significantly rise. Therefore, it follows: take these aspects into account. Plan so that a hospital is nearby, ensure you're well-insured, your apartment can be well-ventilated, and you include a functioning AC. Anticipate rising inflation and increasing social issues in your environment, even then in Thailand. But: above all, never forget optimism. Pessimists and naysayers make solving problems impossible. In my view, all of what I described offers a wonderful opportunity to change the world and to make a killing out of it. So: life is a wonderful adventure. Keep your eyes open, enjoy life, plan well but don't "lose your head".
