I would say KZread is the most suitable place because imagine the seerah you recorded before almost 10 years ago is still fresh and fascinating, likewise this library chat will help the umah for the coming decades. I can respect and understand the desire to withdraw from the internet, the anonymity in particular breeds a level of toxicity that anyone could benefit from removing from their life. I kindly suggest that if you do withdraw from twitter and facebook, that you simply continue uploading to KZread while removing the comment section from your videos, and then if you do a private forum type of thing, then people would be able to discuss and comment there. I have benefited greatly from your KZread videos, and these library chats are one of the few places I can trust to get a non-orientalist take/explanation of historical events in Muslim lands.

Your private platform will not be as far out reaching, your work is amazing let your speech be heard across the globe, Sheikh I urge you to continue your interaction regardless of those that criticise and bring you down. You don't know how much you are helping others.

I had an undergrad in Near and Middle East Studies, and from there I know how the western intellect imbibes. The way you have been teaching is nothing short of paradigm shift, because I do not know of anyone who has done it at this level. No wonder you will raise many internal eyebrows, but why back off? Backing off will only make them clap, but the mass will miss the paradigm shift. I truly think Islam is true and at a very critical juncture right now. Basically all other religions have become pawns of time, while Islam stands tall. One way or other the paradigm shift will happen simply because Islam is true. But you should take active open part in it because that's your golden opportunity.

My humble suggestion is to stay on KZread. There is no need for any of the other social media platforms. In fact - staying off of them will encourage others not to waste their time there. Releasing content to KZread can ensure access is maintained for those who benefit from your material. A separate, private, (Udemy style) classroom for more advanced students offering more interaction is also an interesting concept.

There's the sincere the insincere , the knowledgeable and the normal people who loves to hear you . I enjoy every lecture of yours. And I wait with much excitement for the latest release as they come out. May Allah reward you endlessly in both worlds. Ameen

Sheikh Social media is great for dawah. I think you have done more than enough to make people think critically. I don't see any point in continuing the lectures in public on topics that have debates. You should open a private portal so that only those who are serious in seeking knowledge benefit from you. and it will frankly make things easy for us to interact with you too. but for general topics or khutbahs I think you should continue to do that on social media. The issue with going behind a paywall and private space is that the benefit to the people is reduced as it just disappears from the www. Like your Seerah is of great Benefit to the people since it is on youtube. Shaykh, you're like a lighthouse for our Muslim teens and young people. I belong to a practicing muslim family, but as I was away from home for my higher education I detached from Islam. In this pandemic period I have listened to your lectures almost every single day. I learned a lot about my deen and started practicing as much as I can Alhamdulillah. Of course Allah is the one who guides our souls, but there's always a medium who plays vital role. Regular reminders keep us in check and balance. I believe You're the reason for thousands of youngsters like me to return to their faith. If you want to retire from social media you may leave facebook and twitter. It's very unfortunate for me to hear this. Sheikh never knows how beneficial he is to those abroad. Although hearing "اللغو" from critics is very painful and can affect even the strongest heart. But Sheikh please you have to realize that, it's only in Aljanna that, we won't hear اللغو ill talks. So don't let these critics make you deprive us from benefitting from ur Knowledge.

The benefit of KZread is that those just connecting with their faith can learn about their deen in an accessible way. Particularly, in the West we need knowledgeable Sheikhs like you with a real understanding of the current challenges facing Muslims in the West and who are comfortable tackling the tough questions as they come up. Very few of us in the West have access to knowledgeable Sheikhs who can help us navigate contemporary issues and teach us broad scholarly opinions of the various madhabs on issues. I understand and support however, for your mental health your desire to withdraw. It would be a real shame and huge loss to ummah however, if you were to withdraw. Whatever your decision, may Allah bless you abundantly for your service to the ummah!

I have been benefited enormously by your lectures. It’s provided me very fundamental in-depth knowledge of our Islamic history & theology. There are few things I may not agree with your opinions; however, I believe you have the utmost right to have the opinion with regards to the Islamic theology and it’s a blessing for the Ummah. We traveled from 3 hours city 7-8 of us just to attend your lecture and lo and behold, we just happend to meet you in a restaurent. Being the one who use to listen to your seerah (and i’ve watched every single episode 5-6 time each) I was kinda star strucked and surprised (Allahs qadr) that you just happend to havde your lunch same place as we did. Our dawah in Denmark was primaraly for converts, and I Walked up to you, and I’ve must have mispronounced the Word. You thought I Said Our dawah was for convicted. Anyhow. I humbly asked you if you could give us a short khatirah, and you did. We all loved it. Dear Sheikh . We all enjoy your lectures, and benifits formidably and enormesly a lot. Allah has guided me through your lecthures. And being a farther now, who works a lot to feed my fam, my only time to listen is watching your KZread videos. Not only do I benifit. But I truely try my best to implement your teachings. Therefor my beloved Sheikh. I personally would be sad, if you leave this platform. But if you truely do. I’ll gladly pay the fee to benifit. May Allah reward your efforts Sheikh. On the issue of the private portal I think a combination of your social media presence and the portal will help. There are many like me on social media who would want to continue benefiting from the regular lectures you deliver and release on social mefia. And yes if there are advanced topics you would want to cover via a private portal... why not. But please dont allow the negativity of your opponents to interfere with the good work you are doing for the Umma. I am in Ghana and i get 99% of my islamic knowledge from your work. Yes and I believe most of us who are waiting for new lectures and have benefited a lot, it can even give the feeling of really being the student of sheikh Yasir Qadhi. But it's still heart breaking to hear that the sheikh wants to quit his massive contribution for the English speaking world via social media, but I understand and respect it. The sub-text in this library chat was quite clear, and I could tell which contemporary movement you were indirectly comparing the Karramis with. Some suggestions with regard to your proposal to withdraw from social media - 1. Whilst I understand that social media can be highly toxic, there are alternatives to a full-fledged withdrawal. If you deliver your lectures only through a private forum (on a subscription basis) then you will be addressing a fundamentally different audience. You will confine your audience, should you choose this option, to a largely scholarly circle. Whilst this may improve the quality of debates and discussions, it will reduce the accessibility of your lectures. 2. I think there is something to be said, in general, about the maslaha of the global ummah in preserving diverse critical voices. Your complete withdrawal from social media will in general not be a welcome development, because there is a great deal of khayr that the average Muslim derives from your commentary. Leaving the field open to other, less critical voices will have consequences that we all know and fear. 3. Think of how the vast majority of your listeners (your consumers) engage with your lectures (your product). The average listener is engaging with your lectures in the evening after work, or late at night before heading off to sleep (like your Seerah lectures), or early in the morning before work, or during the day on a weekend. These are not necessarily the listeners that you will carry over to your new private forum, which will attract a more scholarly circle like yourself. You will lose the vast majority of your listeners who actually GAIN from your lectures the most. Please consider this while making your decision. I suggest a two-tiered approach, wherein you keep most of your content online, but reserve the higher-level scholarly talks for your new private forum. This ensures that whilst the vast majority of the ummah continues to gain from your presence online, you can have higher quality debates with your more dedicated students on a separate forum. Thank you very much for reading this long comment.

Shaykh I benefit immensely from your talks and lectures. I especially benefited from the Prophet's seerah, Barzakh, Day of Judgement, Jannah/Jahannam and currently from the Stories of the Prophets series and etc. Just some years back I didn't really know much about the deen nor was I practicing but Allah guided me back and taught me a lot about the deen through your lectures. May Allah bless you for this. You taught us all so much. What I especially like about you Shaykh is that you always state all opinions about a topic not just your own opinion which you personally follow and of course your tangents and detailed and sometimes a bit critical lectures. So please don't stop giving lectures online, at least keep your KZread. It would be a great loss if you would stop giving lectures online. As a Ph.D. candidate and a "geek / nerd" of Islamicate intellectual history, I appreciate these library chats so very much, you have my gratitude for sharing them (and the Sira series, and so much of your content)! I can't blame you, Dr. Qadhi, for getting fed up with most forms of social media, but I'm so grateful for what you have shared over the years here. As long as you mention the soul and social media... the Naqshbandis have a principle called "solitude in the crowd" (Per. Khalwat dar Anjuman); I find it relevant and worth aspiring to, even though it is so difficult to stay unaffected by the loudest and angriest voices in the room! We are ultimately limited in what we can change in others, but we can try to control our reactions to them, no? As the Buddhist philosopher Taylor Swift once said: "haters gonna hate [... ] shake it off". Granted, all that's far easier said than done, and you know what's best for your soul / well-being.

Please do not abandon us. Listening to your lectures are as if we are attending unversity, but we are listening in the comfort of our home, we are listening on the way to work, we are learning deen while driving taxis, while some of us are laying bricks, some doing house chores. and all the others and the list can go on and on.... We need scholars like you in the time of great confusions. We are living in the time where right is becoming wrong and wrong is becoming right. Please stay on youtube channel keep posting your lectures, you can perhaps turn off comments. Thousands of us dont comment but doesnt mean we dont like what you preach us. I myself is commenting second time since all those years I have started listening and learning from you. Only because you asked for our opinions. I know social media is the greatest fitna of our time. Alot of studies are taking place about its toxic culture. The social media environment, its effects and outcomes are so much chaotic. It brings nothing but damage to our morale. (Aside from the goods) The most shocking thing I witnessed is that the race of hatred for one another, our society becoming so much chaotic before our own eyes, how evil people can be that's what shocks me. May ALLAH continue guide us throughout our life. Dear sheikh Please pray for my Daughter, she's 2 years old. I'm so much worried for her. may ALLAH help us.

I hope you don’t withdraw the social media.yes there are unhealthy sides of it and lot of people are abusing the terms and conditions of the social media. I really find your talks and lectures very healthy and really making people love more their Islamic faith. I would rather recommend you talk to the management of these social media so they can filter anything deemed hateful toxic comments.
