Do not rehash 39:03 Certainty about people of Shahadatayn 39:47 Who is upon misguidance? 39:10 anymosity towards...? 41:08 Complexities in dealing with theological models 43:10 Summary of Points of Discussion: MiAW's Misunderstandings, Repercussions of this , Pre-najdi norms 43:51 Not endorsing the mistakes 46:49 Najdi view is atypical 47:34 “MiAW misunderstood the Paganism of Quraysh” 48:19 Shirk worse now? 49:00 A reference to Sultan Umayree vs Hatim Awnee 49:29 The Najdi notion of Shirk of Quraysh 50:35 Separating Ruboobiyyah from Uluhiyyah. Najdis struggling with a definition 01:08:18 Notion of "minigods challenging the supreme god" 01:09:20 Conclusion: Claim of their perfection of Ruboobiyyah is false 01:10:37 reading all texts through one lens 01:11:30 Ayah of Muminoon shows reality of their paganism. Concept of demigods Incorrect derivation : affirmation of supreme rububiyyah negates all forms of ruboobiyyah from others 01:15:49 Book recommendation about nature of paganism. Adi ibn Hatim's belief 01:18:20 miAW's false construction allowed him to compare the Quraysh's shirk to the mistakes found at graves 01:19:25 Ayah of Fatir 01:21:18 clarification of main evidences Najdis use. Thank you so much Dr. Yasir Qadi, I feel obliged to say this. Although I am not an advanced student much less a student of knowledge, I found this lecture very very informative and it opened my eyes to an area that I was completely unaware of. I think I understood the gist of your this very informative lecture. Of All your lectures that I have had the pleasure of listening to, I found this lecture the most interesting and eye opening. Once again thank you. May Allah bless you and keeps you steadfast in spreading the good. I am sure those to come of our ummah will greatly benefit from this work and others that you are doing. May Allah increase our understanding of Islam and May make us neighbours in Jannath with other fellow muslims of our ummah. We are a nation without borders, without a race and without the evil that splits us apart. Aameen. Once again I cannot thank you enough for this lecture. I will continue to seek this knowledge and I pray to Allah to give me more understing towards sirat al mustaqim. Sallahlaah Alaa Mohammed, Sallahlaah Alaihi Wassalaam. All I can say is alhamdulillah that I came across this video. The comfort that I felt after all the years of frustration and trauma from what I've seen of this ideology, not to mention the people I've hurt in the process, this was a tremendous relief. Finally something that makes sense and not feeling alone anymore. I always knew in my heart that the true Islam couldn't have been that way of thinking. Though the journey towards reaching the ultimate truth doesn't end at this video, alhamdulillah that I'm finally beginning to see the light that I couldn't see whilst under the dark grip of the Najdi Da'wah movement.

@@falsesectslikeshiaarejudeo6543 Go re read that ayah and it's tafsir brother. You missed the whole point of this lecture or you didn't pay enough attention. The verse you quoted is merely Allah swt condemning for the shirk for which they already had I.e. they already ascribed Lordship to these other gods then they hoped these Gods would intercede on their behalf to Allah. Meaning you cannot worship something without believing in it as so.e sort of lord. A Muslim doesn't ascribe Lordship to any of the saints or Prophets or whoever they ask for help. If they do with the belief that these saints and Prophets are independent of Allah swt and are the ones who can give and take then that is shirk. So while undoubtedly there may have been haram practices as such in the time of ibn abdul wahhab they in no way warranted mass takfir like ibn abdul wahhab did. Scholars wouldn't have sat around watching people commit shirk and said nothing and its also why ulema were angry at ibn abdul wahhab because he created a huge misconception and notion and used it to justify rebellion and takfir.

It is definitely one of the reasons I stayed away from religions for such a long period of time. The cynicism and arrogance involved in claiming right is rather bothersome and so unnecessary. Basically stated: Those that do such things & are Muslim, they have carried out actions that are Haram. Unless, they actually believe that these 'idols' have the power/divinity to grant. In which case this would be shirk. Najdi view point: Any that approach other than Allah seeking assistance, have committed shirk & as such have left Islam. So fundamentally the argurement is over whether this is shirk or haram. What is the difference between a Muslim that states this is haram & one that states this is shirk? One that has committed shirk according to some can never be forgiven. Someone who has committed a haram action still has the hope of Allah's Mercy, access to Allah's Mercy is still there. If, 90% of all Muslims do such things then in accordance to those that assert that this is shirk: that 90% cannot be forgiven. If that is the case then how should one live out the rest oh his or her days & years of life if one committed shirk? Allah knows best! Wisdom is the appropriate application of knowledge. I too disagree with some aspect of the salafi manhaj but most importantly are for scholars to respect disagreements. We are told not to follow the deen blindly, similarly we too have to be critical of what we learn from our manhaj and not necessarily agree 100% with our syeikh. Thank you very much, you have helped me a lot in many things. I am learning from you for years, Mashallah, Zazakallah Kairan. May Allah gift you Jannattul Ferdaus. What we hear on KZread right now, without an explanation, we will get scared and possibly think badly of you. Of course, each of us knows what is right and what is wrong. Allah put that in us. But to be a true Muslim we have to be able judge from all sides. When I got into Islam, I was very strict with myself and with others. May Allah gift us peace and bring us all together in Jannat. Zazakallah Kairan, Assalamuailakum.

SubhanaAllah. May Allah grant you more wisdom. The concept of broad mindedness is the only successful way in the Deen. That's exactly what happen in west Africa after the second wold war. Eventhough people had been traveling from everywhere, to places like Timbuktu, khaira-wan, etc. But as those that were recruited by the British and French to go and do their fighting, could return. One thing they brought was, exploration (traveling for education, economy etc). Some of our greatgand parents that were Muslims went to the Arab world, as others went to Europe and America. Fortunately some landed in Egypt, Palestine, etc. By independence, those whom graduated also returned, during the struggle. That was the time broad mindedness started. We were told to follow that in our Madrasa's. Around the 40s to 70s. It's a difficult dawah. I remember our sheikh telling us, it's easier to talk to stone worshipers and Christians than other Muslims. So it's best to take our common grounds in public gathering. Why? To stop argument.

Ethos strong, Pathos palpable, Logos superb. A+. I don't know all of these going on with Al Maghrib et al, but it clarified the confusion I had on shirk because it looks like we all get ushered with this tide of reasoning where everything becomes a shirk. Would help avoid unnecessary, and actually self denying shirk paranoia that hunts a many including myself, while putting a rein on actual shirk.

YQ has a very remarkable ability to cut through a lot of the fluff and get into the really juicey, authentic and interesting bits of history. I don't mean to sound too disparaging to preachers that intend their lectures for a less academic audience, but for me - they're a bit like a buffet while YQ is a five course meal. Lot of your critics are emotionally attached to the teaching of Abdul Wahhab so for them you leaving their saved sect is almost like apostasy and therefore some of them label you with terms like "zindeeq". Theres a practical problem najdism causes for the youth etc, like in my past as a salafi, I wanted to marry a religious person but there was only a handful, then having to reject them because you disagreed on minor issues of handplacement in salah or you did not like what headcovering he is wearing or which mosque he prays or his parents are apart of different movements. This was a minefield for me as being not married was becoming fitnah for me and a struggle as I was coming from a very troubled home and difficulty. Imagine having to oust a potential religious spouse as kafir??? Having a refuting mentality will cause practical day to day problems in interacting with muslim ummah. Like another example imagine a muslim sister or brother come to you for help because they have financial difficulty or poor and they are from another sunni movement, if you pass them money, does this count as zakat because you think their movement is kafir? Seriously its not practical.

Jzk Sh Yasir for sharing your perspective and studies. The salafi dawah had good and bad. However, its exaggerated and sometimes slanderous attacks of other muslim groups and scholars caused much division and fanaticism of its youth. An observer would clealry see that its spread was fueled by the Saudi petro dollar which has dried up alhamdulillah. So just as we are coming up on peak oil, we have already crossed peak salafism. InshaAllah in 10 years itll be history. The danger now is the other strand of state sponsored liberal and passivist movements gaining much momentum. May Allah guide the ummah to the straight and middle path.

@Yasir Qadhi, assalaamu alaikum everyone, brother Yasir, thank you for uploading this video, with no offence intended whatsoever, please make more of this public, not just to your students but also to the general muslims who watch your stuff on youtube, please. i can imagine that no doubt you will get alot of backlash for doing this because you are questioning and clarifying the status quo, but the truth seems that in fact you are bringing back an understanding that by far pre dates the modern idea of islaam today, and that can only be a good thing. i feel like the religion that i accepted has been hijacked, that i have been duped, mislead and lied to. im a revert/convert, most of the material available to me when i first too shahadah was in english, scared of not following blindly opinions of men, insearch of 'truth' at first i always thought the 'salafi' understanding of islaam as i understood it was the only one based totally on evidence and sound understanding of our texts. Now when i question things i am labelled either as a kaafir, or mubtadi? and told, 'you dont know more than the sahaabah, and we (salafi) follow that understanding. this has given me so much turbulence and shaken my emaan to the core if im honest, and makes me feel like a closet munafiq for having questions and not agreeing with the pack mentality. i have seen families divided, fathers disowning their children, people happy to partake in 'helping' the oppressed in other countries leaving behind elderly parents, children and a wife..... i can go on but i know you understand.... My point and request is that you try to help so many like me by uploading more videos that take a deep dive into this. A question for you my brother, after understanding what you have mentioned in this video, where do i go from here? where do i get a proper balanced understanding from? should i look into salafi videos and texts? or hanafi? maaliki? etc... we're in a crisis bro, some of us are losing our faith.... thank you once again, sorry for making this such a long comment guys..... May Allah cause good to reach you wherever you are and to us all, ameen.. lol btw, subbed and subscribed, keep them coming inshallah. respect for breaking from the pack mentality and coming out online, helps more people than you realise, let the hater hate and the blamer blame, Allah preserve you. salaamz
