I was actually surprised how much pop this board has and how well it holds an edge on hard /icy conditions, you can really lay it over on its side. I found ,as others have said, that putting the front binding towards the nose makes it feel a little more balanced on harder snow. And in deeper powder, that large nose and slight rocker in the middle really helps pop you back up to the surface whereas I feel something with regular camber in the middle, won't do as well.

Yeah, that C2X camber definitely loads it up with pop and also makes it really easy to load up the sweet spot and get that snap! But you're right - once you're in deep snow it really comes into its own. A dream to ride in the backcountry! Cheers for the message.

I have always ridden a wider board because of a size 12 boot. I wonder what the board would feel like if I did not downsize from a 162.

Many thanks for the review. 💪 Would it be fair to compare the Orca to the Burton Fish for (deep) pow & soft snow? How would it compare if yes?

How is the Orca compared to that Bataleon Goliath in the back? I’m currently riding the Goliath but need something more grippy for the East/Ice Coast. I was also debating on the Gremlin…

Between this and the salomon dancehaul. Which would you prefer to ride.

I've been lucky enough to ride both and rate them equally well. Both snowboards are going to rip groomers, smash through powder and ride fast all day. I'd say the Dancehaul is the more accessible for bringing in some park and freestyle riding, and the Orca might handle bigger backcountry features a little better (it has a slightly stiffer flex). But you're looking at two of the best all-mountain freeride snowboards on the market here - can't go too wrong with either! Rob
