Dude, don't you dare to question what you're doing here. Your channel brings me and hundreds of thousands of other people such a relief from the suffering and malevolence that is life, by re-awakening memories of simpler times, which were filled with nothing but joy and innocence. Being able to re-live those emotions as a grown man can mean nothing less than salvation for some of us. And that comes through what you do. So thank you, brother. Wholeheartedly.

Also, just keep doing what youre doing, I have been watching you for quite a while and have never seen a single bad video from you and have never ended a video before it was over...not sure I can say that about many others out there. Michael Owen yes indeed, between the two of them, I have little need for other tech channels...I think Clint and I are close to the same age, so we grew up with the same computer tech and games, the nostalgia is real and I love it lol He should consider doing custom retro builds for people and making videos of it. I've been wanting an old 486 DXII like I had back in the day, wouldnt mind an XP system either for that matter...

Let's just say that if Steve1989 is eating history one field ration at a time, you're re-living old technology/games from one video to another. Documenting all this stuff is actually very handy from a historical preservation point of view, a few decades down the line people will have a solid time capsule for old tech thanks to your work.

in regards to your comment at the end of the video is anyone really ever the same over any span of time and if they are is that really a good thing? you have followers because you put out content that we find entertaining. in my opinion the content is secondary to person delivering it. case in point your secondary channels. I love (as do many others) lgr thrifts not because i like hunting for odd items but because your enthusiasm of what you find is entertaining. similar to your food channel. you are the reason people tune in. I think you should keep growing your interests, as long as you are excited about a project we will be. love the PC builds, the games and the retro tech. keep up the great work!

Honestly this. Half the videos on LGR have little to do with my interests but I still watch them because they help me concentrate or relax, and it's so rare to find a youtube channel that consistently delivers. I went from just following Oddware/Techtales to like, watching Sims 4 stuff pack reviews because of Clint's delivery and attitude. ..This reminds me, better catch up on LGR Food.

LGR, I agree with all the folks here who say you're the best when it comes to retro, and do not let anyone else allow you to think otherwise! I've been watching your channel for over three years, and no video has disappointed me. For a lot of us, this is our world to delve into after all the hectic things that can and do happen in a day of our lives. Words are insufficient to describe my gratefulness for all the content, and nostalgia you have provided. I am replaying the classic Doom on Dosbox right now because not only is it my first game I have ever played, but one that your videos have brought me back to, and of course all the classic DOS titles like Duke Nukem 3D, and the original sidescrollers. I'd love you to come to Retropalooza in Dallas one of these days; hope to see you in the future, and keep doing the greatest thing of all, and continue the hard work!!

I wonder what is a good start point as far as pricing/availability of parts and isn't too challenging. I've built a few modern PCs with friends but I'm not sure what to start with... Maybe a windows 98 machine would be cool, or an old IBM like my mom had.

Windows 98 has to be one of the best OSes for running legacy PC software. It fully supports MS-DOS, 16-bit Windows, and 32-bit Windows; all the way to DirectX 9. Pair it with a sound card that is hardware-compatible with Sound Blaster, and you've got it made!

Yeah dude, you channel has gotten me through severe anxiety, medical issues, and a few honest to goodness mental breakdowns. I don't know what it is about your videos, but the style, the content, and the presentation keep me entertained, relaxed, and sane. Life is this crazy confusing thing, with questions that money, fame, and power can't even suppress. Time keeps on going, we keep on going until we can't, but it's always humbling to see old technology live on for generations to come. I know you're a big automotive fan, like myself, and I just resonate with your desire for historical preservation. It's nice to see where we came from, to remember a time we where once at, or perhaps try to experience a time we never even grew up in. Honestly Clint, you can do whatever you'd like. Do tech stuff or change gears all together. Hell, we all like watching you make food, so you can definitely change your direction if you'd like. Or even just quit all together if you'd like. I mean that in a sincere way though. You don't owe us content on a weekly basis. You should never feel tied down to please us. You do you man. I’m a lurker here, been watching your videos for years now. Not much of a commenter in general. I wanted to join in the chorus of comments here saying how much I appreciate your content. I don’t want much on KZread these days, but you are one of the channels I’ve watched faithfully for years. You have a genuine curiosity and interest about things, and that’s becoming increasingly rare. So much of our world is cynical, cold, and hard. It’s great to see a content creator that still has that joy about the simple things. Retro gadgets, building ludicrous XP machines, finding odd bits of lost tech. It’s such a wonderful break from the insanity of our upside down world. Now, I’m not a content creator. I even have a hard time calling myself a “creative”. But, I work as a copywriter/digital marker. Over the years, I’ve often wondered if what I do is good enough. I lay awake at night stressing if I’m delivering a quality product. It’s the curse of people who do creative things for a living. It’s like having a monkey on your back. It can be a real drag, but it’s also what gives you a creative drive. My apologies for the long-winded comment (I am a writer, so it comes with the territory.) Just know that almost every creator wonders about their efforts. I stress about my work every single day. Let it drive you, but don’t let it consume you. You’re doing good work here, and judging by the comments I think everyone else agrees as well. Stay true to yourself, and keep creating the content that you want to see. If you’re passionate about it, people will want to watch it. Just my 2 cents, anyway.

You do what you want to do LGR, i see your channel as a journey of your interests. But i'm definitely a fan of computer hardware and components, so you can never do enough of that. You seem to have hit a consistent formula with how you do things, perhaps your audience likes the consistency and exploration of your vast collection of random stuff.

Lol'd at the Microsoft Easy Ball box, the kid in the middle looks like he is contemplating his future in the picture or trying a Jedi mind trick of sorts. Might be worth doing a bit quicker videos on some items too see if they work or not kind of like a mini episode of LGR where you kind of go on the general surface of whatever item it is rather then in depth a whole bunch like with for example the early digital camera's & their history & competition or similar stuff. Perhaps the general feel if you haven't tried that easy ball or similar trackballs before for example & just trying too grasp what usage it has or would have at the time.

I've tried this and find it oddly difficult _not_ to go in-depth! With even the most mundane items, there's almost always a fascinating story to tell when one digs deep enough. And digging deeper is what makes me interested in such mundane items in the first place :)
