Wiktionary suggests this might be a South Africa thing, rather than Australia. Either way, color me surprised that this could be a real term used by people somewhere.

We need to fund an LGR museum complete with backing up all magnetic media to solid state. Everything Clint has needs to be kept safe and running for future generations.

I am an amateur on computers but damn I enjoy watching all those stuff. Great videos, dude!

Soon these will be in movie length format as Netflix originals. Canadian versions of those INTV games, thus the french/english names on the front of the gatefolds.

These episodes are far more entertaining to watch than they have any right to be, and I think it's strictly because your reactions are just SO ANIMATED. You're like a kid on Christmas morning with every single item, and your enthusiasm is ridiculously infectious. ;)

I love how *Lazy Game Review* is excited for anything he receives. It's like Christmas gifts: even if you you don't want something, you are happy that someone thought about giving you a gift. I really appreciate that.

These videos of old hardware and software made me think of a project for photography class, getting old hardware and recreating the advertising from the era

The "Ultra" laptop was probably made by Sager. Even to this day they make laptops for retailers to put any brand name they want on them -- the laptop equivalent of white-box PCs.

I never expected to enjoy watching people unbox things, but you really do make it interesting

I started working with older machines when I was 9, I am now 13 and I work with much more modern machines and your channel inspired me to build my own intimate win 98 pc

Awesome video, and inspiring. I collected a lot of these sort of things when I had a larger place. I had a 90s car phone, a few cool red or blue chip video cards, and a couple of classic laptops. I got donations too ! There were so many cool and zany things floating around computer stores back then, and old computer stuff is a nostalgic category which is under-covered. You rule !!

Damn. That ZX81 USA is a lovely, lovely find. I didn't know Sinclair actually released the original machine stateside - there's something about the Sinclair branding on it which looks much nicer than what I've seen of the Timex stuff.

DUDE. I Played the Ignition Shareware as a kid FOR HOURS among a bunch of other shareware games my dad and I found back on Hotgames.com in the days of 56K. I've been searching for this game for YEARS ever since I first plated. My childhood feels complete. I always mixed up the Lightning bolts on the boost for the powerups in Re-Volt. God I cannot tell you how happy I am right now. This is seriously one of my all time favorite youtube channels PERIOD

AH!~ that Man-O-War book! i loved that book as a kid! amazing detail and awesome facts. just a great book.

We used a RadioSHARK the whole way through college for archiving our college FM at West Chester University in PA!

I used to have one of those Dell Trinitrons. Reluctantly had to abandon it when I moved out of my parents' house. It had fantastically high refresh rates at lower resolutions - playing Half Life at 120hz was something else.

"the windows maze screensaver will never be replaced." I feel you so hard man. I've been repping that on all my machines since my old Compaq Presario frankenbuild from 2000. The file actually resides on all my recovery disks as well.

Great time to see another LGR video! I happened to get a shadow box during ConBravo, and picked up their card as well. I got the large Bubble Bobble shadow box, going to a family member as a gift. Since the memories of arcades and such, are a rather enjoyable time before all the stress of today.

You could call this series I Got Mail.

10:23 I actually met the guy who makes those at ConBravo. Really cool dude.

The ZX Printer is not a thermal printer, it instead uses a high voltage spark to essentially burn spots on the aluminium coated paper. Sadly the special rubber belt that carries the "printing" styli degrades over time and if yours hasn't already disintegrated into several bits it probably will the first time you try to print anything. There's a guy hoping to get new belts manufactured in China and he's already managed to get new Spectrum keyboard mats and injection moulded cases made so there's at least a non zero chance that belts might not be unobtanium forever.

I had what looked like that exact same printer and mine WAS a thermal printer. Annoying thing about what was printed out is that it faded after a while.

Still a rather clever design, and it's actually one of the better super-cheap printer designs of the early '80s.

I had two of those monitors back in the day. Amazing picture quality.

This community is the best, buddi :-) you get so much stuff, it's awesome!

Sheesh I feel like you could just have an unboxing channel at this rate.

Clint, you need a team of like-minded individuals to help you sort through all that stuff! They can document and organize the incoming treasures, freeing up valuable time for whatever you want to do! Hire a small staff already and begin the LGR Empire!

I kept using SGI/HP/Dell models (with my SGIs, and later PCs) until I could finally buy an IPS flat panel that didn't suck (HP LP2475W, check the old review at www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/hp-lp2475w-24in-h-ips-display), though it still bugged me to lose the 2048x1536 res of the CRTs. One thing though, trying to move a Sony FW900 24" SuperWide (fantastic monitor, used with the SGI Onyx2 I was in charge of) up two flights of stairs on my own was a really stupid idea. :D Put my back out, off work for a week and had to take slightly hallucinatory pain killers for a month... :} Here's an amusing reference: imgur.com/a/UDZFL#0 and specs (note the weight; what was I thinking??): www.cnet.com/products/sony-gdm-fw900/specs/

I've just recently come across your channel and I love it. I was curious though, there's an old game I used to have for my Tandy 1000 back in the day, Crayola Creation Studio, and it had this "screen saver" built in where this alligator character would walk across the screen and do stuff. If you left it long enough, one of the things he did was thrust his pelvis saying "yes" repeatedly from one side of the screen to the other. It's something I remember vividly from my childhood, and I can't find the game or any reference to this anywhere, and I was curious if you have the game, and if you could test it and see if I'm remembering it right. I know this is a strange request. :)

I love the old Polaroid cameras. The most interesting feature of them in my opinion is that little speaker looking doodad on the front. It's actually a sonar emitter that the camera used to auto-focus.

How do you manage to keep so many boxes unopened until your videos? Like, how do you resist the probable temptation to open them and find out what's inside?

I know i'm like.... 4 years late to commenting on this video, but the package you got from Dustin with the red trapper keeper and the ZX81USA made my ears perk up because I'm FROM Nashua NH - and good on you for saying that right the first try! I don't remember there being a Sinclair being in Nashua, but given it looks like that original purchase order was printed on a dot matrix printer (and it's from the 80s) that doens't surprise me. Alas I wasn't even born when the RAM adapter was purchased in 1983! XD However my mom worked at DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) in Nashua for over a decade - I have fond memories of that place! The server room in her building was an entire FLOOR - very cool to see as a kid.

Ooooohhh....seeing that Intellivision brought back so many memories for me of the very early 80's! I had one, with a ton of games, and seeing one of the classic consoles gave me the warm fuzzies! If there is one console I would LOVE to own again, with games and in good shape it would be an Intellivision!!!

Duuude.. Boxed "Ignition" game? I used to spend entire holidays back in early 00's with this game. I just love it! :)

It powered on, but doesn't actually show a clear signal. The whole screen is really dark, blurry, and has white lines running through it.

I've posted CRTs worldwide, the key to safe posting is, a) use a *huge* box, b) pack the monitor upside down. This avoids pressure being placed on the fragile base. I include foam pieces between the base and the case so it can't move around. Time consuming to do though, and posting a big box is expensive (because of the volumetric weight). Clint, how are you going to handle all this when your sub count is 10x what it is now? :D (an inevitable destinty IMO!)

Lazy Game Reviews Aw man. I wish I still had the FW900 24" trinitron I used up to 2012. Couldn't beat that thing for picture quality, but it was just too big to keep around. Went to another local collector.

Yes, it was enormous, though not the largest CRT I heard about. SGI told me one of their industrial customers damaged an Indigo2 chassis by putting a 32" CRT on top of it. Dread to think what a 32" CRT woud weigh, the FW900 was crazy enough. The Indigo2 is pretty strong, but yikes. :D I had a 2nd FW900 for a while, but no real use for it (just too big) and the guns needed redoing. Gave it away eventually.

oh, man! I love that Serrated Scalpel Sherlock Holmes game. My cousin had it back in the day, and as a kid whose sole exposure to home gaming up to then was the Atari 2600 and NES (and the SNES was still really new) I was completely blown away by it. It has really great music, too. Clint, I hope you're able to find the time to play it. I still fire it up in Boxer and play through it at least a few times a year.

Delta Force Land Warrior! That was the first multiplayer PC game I ever played. I used to play it against a roommate I had in the barracks while I was in the navy, across a null modem cable.
