Keep in mind you're watching a recording of a tv. My camera had some dynamic range issues in the deepest black information of the image. Trust when i say its such a dramatic difference in person.

Hey @quantum_tv Do you offer calibration for an LG g3. Also will be getting a Bravia 9 soon lmk if you have calibration for either.

I look forward to the two of them calibrated, that will show which is the best. Your settings make the TV pop far better then standard factory setting.

Why compare cinema default settings on the G4 with your own settings on the S95D? Why not make the G4 look its best with your settings, and then compare😅? I own none if them, but would like to see what both of them are capable off, with all there bells and whistles turned on.

I‘m not an OLED or G4 fan, but it seems unfair to compare calibrated and not calibrated models. I never saw a G4 vid with such bad colours. And QD OLED like A95L have basically better more intense colours. So it seems to be a huge difference between both TV‘s

I was a proud (oh ignorance was a bliss those days) owner of LG OLED TVs and now I’ve changed all my TVs to the newer and overall better Samsung S95D. I know this is controversial, but I love, really, really love the matte coating (it solved almost all my issues with windows and glares on my overly exposure to natural light home) and the image quality is just superb with all those colors popping of the screen. Just amazing! Thank you for acknowledge the excellent features on this TV and sharing it online and also for helping us to get the best picture out of it.

If I spent 2.5 k on a TV I would want it to look as good as it can. And sure you could try setting it up yourself. But for $5 buck's if it looked even better. Then that's worth it to me. You could spend $5 on fries and a coke at maccas🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

OK, I have a prediction they’re building the G4 up so much only because, they’re going to try to make it the TV of the year and their pitiful little contest that they run because Sony is out of the game, at least when it comes to OLED for this year. Well, it wouldn’t surprise me if they tried to bring back last year‘s Sony model and say it’s still number one for this year, a thirsty, pathetic attempt because they know the keyboard is just not there, the new TCL’s this year are going ahead to head with all old LEDs, it’s time to wake up. LEDs are finally catching up, all they need to do is finish off with better processing. Black levels are already there when it comes to the new QM8. 5:56

Will you do a comparison after you calibrate the g4? Also I would like if you show what you did too I just purchase a G3 and imagine they both have almost the same settings.

And now you will calibrate the G4? Lol. Seriously, I will continue to encourage everyone to go to their local Best Buy or another tv retailer to see what the G4 is capable of doing. Not sure what their demo calibration/settings are, but what they’re showing at the Atlanta BBs is pure bliss, not washed out and pathetic as we see here. All the colors are extremely vibrant especially the reds and greens. The picture is crisp, colorful and clear. I will definitely find out their settings, because what I have seen is the total opposite of the out of the box mess we see here. Surely LG knows better than to release a piece of crap, you think? Really want to know their settings at BB. A totally different picture.

I hit reset to prove it looks this bad. The store is in store mode which is cold 50, high dynamic contrast, 70 color, and sharpness raised harshly. Perhaps that can accomplish the wow factor for you, but not me lol.

calibrate the g4 with the same approach as the s95d without favoring samsung and we'll see what happens

Comparing these TVs on your settings will be fair and reliable, and not on the settings of the manufacturer or calibration experts, because it actually looks terrible and the image looks like it was pulled out of your ass :). If you like it, please watch it, no one is forcing anyone, but I'm curious what you think the image on the LG should and should look like and compare it with the Samsung.

​@Quantum_TV if that's the case the why would you have to calibrate the Samsung? You should be able to compare the dynamic mode on the Samsung to the vivid on the LG movie mode vs cinema and so on. Also it's been my experience that the Filmmaker mode is typically the best for viewing LG tv's especially oleds but you skipped over that preset. It would have been nice to see the comparison of the 2 tv's in Filmmaker mode as a even playing field...🤷‍♂️

S95C is ALL time Best. A95L S95C neck n neck. S95C Vibrant, cozy , natrual color. Vibrant relaxed. SONY Pestle(blue) , Awkward Vivid but NOT vibrant. Dense color NOT Rich. S90D Much Dimmer Between iphone XS -12pro level brighness. S95C S95L iphone 15PRO- brightness vibrancy. S95C --NO Fail. :) 😊

I wont argue your tastes and color settings. I actually own a panasonic oled from 2018 with personal settings that are much brighter and with more pop than a lot of more recent Oleds in filmmaker mode. So I wouldn't say I'm a purist. But you never talk about cinematography , only criticizing standards , colors being true to life , contrast etc.... Cinematographers make esthetic choices not only based on those criterias. They're seeking to convey certain feelings , sensations, a particular mood. I'm sorry , but this particular scene in pirates is supposed to look green . I watched it recently in theater during a pirates marathon, and kinda remembered it this way. So I checked on multiple screens : my phone , an ipad pro , my G14 laptop with an oled screen , my panasonic Oled ,and my new S90c in filmmaker mode tweaked to be brighter and with colors "calibrated" to my taste in rec2020 instead of the default dcip3. I found a lot of variations in terms shadow detail , contrast , the way each pannel tonemapped it. But it was always greenish , same way I remembered it in theater. And to me it makes sense , I get what kind of feeling the cinematographer was going for in this scene : a feeling of uneasiness , weirdness.... It's not about popping colors and realithm. Another example : Janusz Kamiński cinematography in minority report . I mean it would make no sense trying to bring back contrast and color saturation to this movie . It is supposed to look like that. Granted , none of my screens look as bad as your G4 , and since I don't own that tv , I can't comment on it . And I'm all for it when it comes to put to use modern tv capabilities , boosting brightness , details etc.... But not at the expense of cinematography. I stand by it , in my experience with this particular scene in pirates , although your settings look nice , they are off . Not in terms of pure picture quality , like brightness or contrast, I could'nt care less. But because the lighting of this particuliar scene is supposed to be greenish, and for a reason. Anyway , on the other hand we're just talking about tv's , and everybody is just free to watch content however they want :) .Just thought it would be interesting to talk about cinematography as a reminder that we're watching movies , not pannels . Most people dont calibrate lol. My custom calibration is done with my in house standard of calibration. The cinema mode was calibrated to factory reference accuracy. This is me vs the industry standard So it's quite logical. Nobody but me can make the image on the left. So unless you're admitting my way as superior, there's no point in making settings for the g4. Right? Lol

Dude what u need to say is “what is the point of creators intent when it simply looks inferior?” These creators need to chill out and stop doing so much to the color. I could totally see the colorist or whoever is in charge of the colors doing that green shit on Pirates of the Caribbean intentionally. Even if he didn’t and it’s just terrible out of box accuracy, don’t mislead people and claim that filmmaker mode is in any way accurate.

at the end of the video with Bolt the Samsung colors are horrendous, the dog's fur is yellow/green instead of white, too saturated, Sony at 95L is the best choice at this point, furthermore LG has many customizations also to improve the color,never Samsung,or sony or LG

Your so Called Calibration is Losing 30 40% of the image in general. Moreover why didn't you calibrated the LG G4 as well to see the actual differences. Its very common every brand to not be very well calibrated and that doesn't bother me (course would be nice) This comparison doesn't make any since. Also another point I can make is that when you say "look at that green" do I have to remind you that Samsung all of them TVs have issues with the Red and the extremely vibrant and way out of accuracy of the actual real image as the content should've be intended Why don't you say that the Panel of the Samsung is like a Microwave after 10 minutes in max brightness or that you an cook eggs on it? on 08:36 we can clearly see the real color of Black to White or Greyscale we can see real black,white grey on the LG G4 but on the Samsung S95D we see Red, yellow warm color and you're telling us Accuracy.. what a Joke However If LG decides to step in the QD-OLED game and probably they will they will K.O everyone :)
