QD OLED will always beat the other TVs.
I take it you like the TCL QM8 a lot more than the Hisense U8N.
As somebody that has a Sony X90L, I think both of those TVs look horrible with motion. Did you have any motion flow settings on or black frame input? Usually smoothing one on most TVs look really good without giving you the soap opera effect.
I expect VA panel to struggle with motion.

Qm8 this year is impressive. i wish they made a 55-inch model. Hisense i had i hopes for. Big let down there.

Quantum..... Question... For most people, the average consumer that is looking for a better tv, middle of the road quality tv without breaking the bank... Can you do a summary of what you consider budget, a step above budget, middle of the road and I guess premium. Most can't afford premium but maybe middle of the road possibilities?? Thanks

Motion handling is atrocious at times on my Samsung S90D. It's the only thing I don't like about the TV, unfortunately motion handling is very important.
What is it set to?
I have the G3 and NO it is not as washed out as AV Forums had in their video. It's way more colorful and almost matches up to my Sony A95K. I just don't like how LG produces the color red, but you wouldn't notice it unless you had the TVs side by side. True if you shoot for "accuracy" then it can look cold and washed out but that's with any TV; even my A95K. I like detail and colors to pop and once I did some adjusting, I can get it near the colors of my A95K. Sony is king in processing (and high pricing) and because of that, I'd never purchase a Samsung because their processing is trash (I had a S95B and S95C that I gifted). If you want QD OLED, the Sony is the only way to go if you're a pixel peeper like myself; but it's going to cost you. If not, then good luck with the Samsung panel lottery.
Taking your tv out of the box claiming is doesn't have a washed out picture is wild.

no doubt the c1 was the best oled made without evo or mla this tv still keep standing front of high tvs like the g4...c1 is the best of the best oled tv
i don't know where you put ur settings on the c1 but on mine when i put it on vivid mode plus change some settings i can get brighter than what your c1 got here...
Samsung sure, but anything under 100" OLED is a complete waste of money if you're not getting life size immersion which leaves only LG & the G4 is all about Gen 11 processor; not anything else.

No TV is perfect but the A95L is the best available today (7/24.)There have been 3 double blind tests and the A95 won 2 of them. Even when viewing TVs in the imperfect environment of a store, the superiority of the A95 is obvious. This review seems very biased and like the reviewer has an ax to grind. The S95C seems to be the one recommended in the comments yet that TV doesn’t even support Dolby Vision. It has always been true that to get the incremental improvement in audio/visual technology of the time that you pay a premium. That isn’t for everyone but to say the A95 doesn’t give that improvement just isn’t true. If you want the best picture then the A95 is the TV to beat. To say otherwise is misleading. On a side note, I own the A95 and have zero issues with movement. If you want the best picture and want to avoid the quality issues with Samsung screens, then the A95 is the TV to buy.

Are these TV available in Europe? I see very different naming of TCL in Europe, like C805, C845 etc
The EU model name is C855 the main difference between them is the price in North America the TCL Qm851G is 1000$ plus tax in some states there it goes for 1200$ in Europe at least for me in Norway the Tcl C855 is 2500€ way way over priced for the picture quality. you only have an RGB slider that limits you from correcting per color like Sony have on there high end TVs.they use what is called an HSL Huge Saturation Luminance way of adjusting colors if TCL add that to there TVS next year or 2026 and give true color Space like DCI-P3 BT.2020 Adobe and focus on peak Highlights they would be unstoppable in the Mini-Led class 100%

I wanted to give you a heads up Quantum, you might consider giving the U8N another try. The 55-in version and 65-in versions are completely different, apparently similarly to how the Samsung S90D uses both WOLED and QD-OLED panels depending on screen size and region sold. The 65-in U8N is essentially a completely different TV than the 55-in. You know I love my Q8FN and I did see your comparison comparing the 55-in Hisense versus the Q8FN. My friend and I did the same comparison last night using his 65-in U8N vs my 65" Q8FN and the Hisense absolutely slaughtered it. There was a night and day difference in contrast level, black level, color production and even motion handling looked better on the Hisense. It was actually pretty disappointing for me to see! I think it's really shady how brands like Hisense and Samsung use the same model number for TVs that are actually completely and utterly different. Anyway, just wanted to let you know in the event that maybe you want to reevaluate the real U8N. Keep up the good work!
...... Also we would love to have some calibration settings for the 65 in U8N from you- you're the only one who can do it justice. . I really hope you consider giving the 65-in version a review.
