I found one I was not please by. But only 1. These guys are incredible. With that being said there is nothing I don't like about Home Free. Not saying PTX is not as good because they are. I found the cover of Perfect by Ed Sheeran. not as good as I had hoped. That was a sad moment for me. This was perfect however and everything else they do is too.

You wanna get "Mitch slapped" listen to superfruit defying gravity... Mitch and Scott will BLOW your mind to a million places

Mitch has shorter than average vocal cords that help create his sound. Also Mitch and Scott met when they were 10 years old and Kirstin met Mitch around age 8. They grew up together through puberty and before most Men's voice changed. The original three all went to Community Arts Theater kids. That is why they know how to perform on stage and their harmonies are 20 years old and easy for Avi and later Matt to join in their songs. PTX is 10 years old as a 5 member band. Kevin has perfect pitch so everyone matches Kevin and you get PTX.

I love all of their songs, but this one hits me all the way to the depths of my soul!

Their rendition of Amazing Grace is phenomenal!!!

Each of them has a vocal range of five to six octaves minimum. That includes Kevin, their beatboxer supreme. Not only does he have a wonderful tenor, bit he has a fantastic falsetto that he's been known to let loose on the people listening. And they can all upshift and downshift in the entirety of their range with little effort. I am proud of my three and a half octaves, from mid bass through baritone and into the tenors. But these people have sick nasty singing skills. Kevin has perfect pitch, which with him as beatboxer makes him the perfect guipost for the rest of the group to take their cues from.

That was beautiful and they do it just as beautifully live ☀️

Would highly recommend their version of Bohemian Rhapsody - another strong Mitch performance where he is the focus!

Every single one of them have an incredible range some spanning up to 4 or 5 octaves.....stunning group

2 songs that go far beyond a Mitch slap to a full on Mitch punch would be Aha! Live in Singapore Star Vista (theres an official video but the Mitch Punch only happens in the live version) and Defying Gravity from Wicked (on his and Scott's Superfruit channel).

You've been Mitch-Slapped enough that I don't think it would be amiss to intro you to the Mitch-Punch. You've also been slammed by their Wall of Sound too. And Kevin KO'd (every time you fangirl over Kevin's beats) and You've been knocked down by the bassists, both Avi and Matt. I'd say you're thoroughly part of the Pentaholics Family!

Don't forget their -cover- upgrade of "Bohemian Rhapsody." For seeing *other* people get Mitch-slapped, I strongly recommend their 12th performance on _The Sing-Off,_ which was the first time they were able to give Mitch his own solo. Shawn gave them a standing ovation, and the entire audience looked stunned. And sometime when you want to laugh until your sides ache, watch Superfruit's Frozen medley, featuring Kirstie Maldonado. They were all drunk when they filmed it, and they made some hilarious choices. And Mitch's final solo of "Let it Go" almost counts as a reverse Mitch-slap, with Mitch as the victim.

There is also on of them singing evergreen whist Scotts dad is playing the guitar for them I’m pretty sure it was one of their TX shows. They are re all smiling and Scotts dad looks so proud! It’s a beautiful performance too-written by Scott, Kirstie and Kevin dedicated to all of their moms!

So glad you enjoyed this! I cried like a baby the first time I heard it. It is just so beautiful. I actually thought of you and your family on Christmas when I saw thar you guys had been sick. Hope it was a mild case and you all are recovering. Thanks for this reaction!

I’ve never heard anyone get Kirstin’s name THAT wrong 🤣🤣🤣🤣. And yes they can do this live. There are several examples on KZread, but the best one to me is the one from the Evergreen Experience concert they had on Dec 19. Hopefully someone uploaded it.

You know besides having loads of Christmas songs and great original songs like Sing, PTX covers songs in almost ever genre. So they also have R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop and a Country remake of Jolene with Dolly Parton herself which won OTX their 3rd Grammy.

Saw them sing this live on tour. Completely genuine and fantastic, Scott's parents were there. Great experience as a fan!

I enjoyed this so much! Thank you for covering it! There are several performances of them doing this live available- and they sound the same. Mitch’s voice is simply ethereal in it, with Scott’s rich fullness, and Kirstie’s powerhouse vocals…. It is a masterpiece both of arrangement and vocals. Your idea about the drawers dropping….. since Kirstie is straight and Mitch and Scott are both gay, it may be a more successful idea if guys were throwing them…… 😂

I'm sure he has No idea about Mitch or Scott or that Kevin is Married and his wife gave birth in April. Matt was looking at wedding venues with his fiance when they stumbled on the location shown in Amazing Grace.

I wish Pentatonix would perform a song with Bella Taylor Smith (Winner of The Voice-Australia 2021). Would love to hear your reaction to her blind audition. She is another awesome voice. Just like being Mitch slapped, you will be bella blessed.

Mitch used to grin and emote in videos, and people got down on him for that: "This guy, he annoys me so much!" So he changed it up and became The Sphinx -- and now people get on him to that, too: "Why doesn't Mitch smile more, he has a beautiful smile!?" Can't catch a break, despite his beautiful voice. Interesting idea. Just... you'd need to have some hot guys throwing their undies at Scott and Mitch, though. I mean, to be fair, they're not too interested in the ladies' undies. Speaking of Scott and Mitch, they have a side channel called "SUPERFRUIT" and they clown around and do LGBTQ concert stuff over there (thus the name). As a reaction to the Pulse Nightclub shooting back in 2016 they did a recording with three other LA LGBTQ performers, Brian Justin Crum, Mario Jose, and Mary Lambert, and they did a cover of Katy Perry's "Rise" which is phenomenal. If you've been enjoying Penatonix, you should give a listen to Superfruit's "Rise". It's worth the effort, and it will introduce you to Brian Justin Crum, Mario Jose, and Mary Lambert, all of whom have their own channels and vocal masterpieces as well.

You should listen to them do Can’t Hold Us. They all rap which is great but it would give you a chance to really get Mitch slapped. He’s amazing as are they all. Thanks for taking such an interest in them. Also they have a live version of Hallelujah from a Christmas Show and you can hear for yourself that they don’t cheat! Thanks!

I’ve seen them nine times in concert so I’m a total pentaholic, and it’s a really fun and entertaining cover, especially so early in their career. Bbbuuttt, it’s really old and they have gotten so much better that I kind of cringe listening to it sometimes. They’re not out of key or anything, but they aren’t as tight as they are now, their blending, their timing etc just isn’t comparable. I’m totally just playing around with you, a few others all for it a lot s well. I guess I’m just used to their current stuff 🤷‍♀️

Also a little background - Mitch, Scott and Kirstin grew up together in Austin, Texas. Sang in choir and musicals thru high school. Then they won the Sing Off competition when they were 19. They added Avi, the bass (later Matt) and Kevin the beatboxer to the group for that competition.

His name is Andrea Bocelli and he has sung this song with both Sarah Brightman (one of the original singers in phantom of the opera), and Celine Dion a canadian treasure. This rendition based on how Mitch introduces his vocals and how he sings is based off of the duet between Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli. This song took balls to even attempt and they bloody nailed it
