That magic when they all sing? That immensely difficult, moving, harmony of beautiful sound? That is what we call PTX’s Wall Of Sound. Also- their labels are beautiful. They are each beautiful in their individuality (I believe Kirstie is also of native American decent). But their visual of how the individuals also make up humanity makes me want to be a better human.

  • @lexymich3647

The difficult part is called a wall of sound. Kirstin, Mitch, and Scott grew up together since they were 10 years old and are all 3 self professed choir needs and they were in musical theater. Kevin was classically trained on the cello and saxophone and played the saxophone at Carnegie Hall when he was 17. That is huge honor. Avi was trained for opera. The thing you might have missed about the cards is whatever word they passed to the next person was what they had in common but great catch on the human thing before the end.

If you want to hear Scott 9the tall blonde guy) at his super soulful best, check out their performance of Let's Get it On from The Sing Off. Make sure you watch the whole thing so you can catch the reaction from Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman. He was one of the judges on The Sing Off and a huge fan of Scott's.

Yes...their "bell tones" are their "signature". This was Scott's first real "coming out" in public. Avi, being trained in opera, was a perfectionist. You said they had perfect harmony. Avi (the bass) was always insistent they do it perfectly. They can't hide behind instruments. Scott's favorite music is R & B. Kirstie, Scott, and Mitch were in every choir they could be in while they were in high school at the same school. Those three started their singing journey when they were in elementary school. Thank you for your PTX reaction. I look forward to more.

I love how much their amazing harmonies, and overall talent, just blow your mind. Why? Because I relate. I've never been a singer (other than the car and hanging out with friends), but my years in band (concert and marching) and orchestra fostered a love of music theory. I'm not classically trained in theory, but seem to have an innate understanding of it. Pentatonix blows me away. Their understanding of what works, in sound and arrangement, is just ridiculous. That, in combination with their amazing vocal talent, makes them one of the most enjoyable groups to listen to...period. Love your reactions! Stay healthy and keep safe. And have a great day! :)

Love this reaction! I was always under the impression that the “bell tones” were the classic a cappella tool used to emulate rhythm, absent a rhythm section. I guess Lennon, in the original Imagine, used the right hand piano chords to push the tempo. Beautiful cover.

I have watched this video with other reactors and you are the first I have seen to REALY understand what it was all about when they were passing the writing on those cardboards. You even mentioned before they were done that we are ALL human....right on Bro....I am a French Canadian from Ottawa, Canada. I totally respect your reaction. Many of the friends that I have had were from the LGBTQ + but, being 71, back then it was just called being "gay", anyway, I am a straight woman but have never had any qualms about someone's identity. I have always been open and free to all. Thank you for your diverse reaction. I am now a terminally ill woman and watching good reactions means a lot to me. Take care LFR and keep on doing what you do. Carole 👍👍😘

From HS varsity choir, through college, and after years of singing, they still amaze me. If you don't listen to them with headphones, you miss so much.....and if you have NO experience with singing, you miss even more. As individuals, they are miraculous. I am a singer (though certainly not on their level) and I love this message that people can be different but come together to make something so beautiful. The members of Pentatonix are also very different in their musical tastes, but the fact that they are still together after more than 10 years with only one change shows how much they appreciate what they can do together.

Not only is perfect harmony is perfect sound leveled, and sound expansion and expression… making intervals (sound space full of sound vibration which makes the color of their harmonies absolutely beautiful, filled of so much texture with misfires of vibrant and shod color in the different sounds they emit in the musical journey they mapped, and every transition the technic they use for each change to continue taking the listener in the at journey is like incredibly perfect! Since Avi is gone I wish they would re-do some of their songs with Matt. You know they started out on on KZread with only their only help was their own. They are extraordinarily intelligent. If you like their covers, go watch Superfruit with Scott and Mitch. It is a little different side of them. They sing, do skits and all kinds of things. Sometimes the others are with them. Each one of them has things going on. That is always in their contract. I seen one solo act with Kevin... He is a prodigy. That man has so much more talent in the tip of his pinky than most people could try to achieve in their whole lifetime. Go check them all out.

The thought of when they started out with the Sing Off of how well they had done, It is Amazing that they hadn't come together until just a few days before they had to perform. Kevin and Avi not really even done anything with the group. They had just been picked to sing with them because they needed five people. When they sing that first song on The Sing-Off they blew their own minds. They came Out Swinging and found that they had assembled all the right people. They could not have done any better with any other individuals at that time of their life. They had struck gold in the middle of nowhere. It was as if they had been with each other all their life.

I saw them on sing off for a little bit I didn't get to see much of it but then didn't hear no more about them until 3 days ago I been going back and forth between them home free and Voiceplay for the last 3 days found out that Pentatonix made it through the whole show and found out about the other 2 groups on the same day I love all 3 groups it would be cool if they would all come together for a song at least once

Pentatonix, members past & present, are amazing HUMAN BEINGS first & foremost. THAT is why they bring such joy to those who are blessed to be introduced to them through their gifts & talents. They truly represent so many & so much & they know that, & are humble & kind. I feel like we all need PTX in our lives!

Jo Jo is a good kid. He has a good head on his shoulders, not all people get that. I'm sure you know that, but my nephew was raised Mom and Dad in tact, they had a great dealof money, He was taken to church and after all of that he went to college and over dosed right after he got out of rehab. He never really knew what hit him. My neice has never really recovered. the whole family has been torn apart. Money means nothing. His sister will not have children because she says she wouldn't be a good mother. Be proud of Jo Jo I'm sure he thinks your great. You have been there for him.

I love the reaction! I miss your country reactions though. You should react to Rock That Says My Name by the Steel Woods! I think you’ll enjoy it!
