Couldn't agree more!

I don’t recall hearing Scott singing in his full chest voice before. I want more of that. The harmonies are double tracked near the end, but I don’t care. Too good!

The thing about Pentatonix double tracking, is that we get to imagine what a Decatonix would sound like, and I sure ain't complaining there.

It made me laugh when you mentioned that about Kirstie. In an old behind the scenes when they were shooting outside, the videographer makes her take off her coat for the shoot. In between shots you can see Mitch holding her inside his coat to warm her up.

Great reaction! Excellent work from each member! Love how the duet switched from Scott/ Mitch to Kirstin/ Mitch & back again. Mitch soaring with chromatic runs & Scott’s strong baritone in Italian! Loved at 9:04 when the layered track stair stepped down as Scott & Mitch went up! Knew you would appreciate what Kevin did with the rhythm!

@@JacobRestituto Have you heard the tone in 'Love You Long Time'? I just barely caught it tonight. I must have heard that song a thousand times, but there is definitely a high tone around a minute in that just doesn't sound human. It sounds like a recording error, but I know too much about Mitch to believe that. 😂

This is such a stunning performance by PTX. The live version is just as good. I really hope that you'll react to the entire album. It's so damn good. If not "I Saw Three Ships" is a must. You are going to love it. Also Over The River ft Lindsay Sterling is a banger. They are actually dropping the official video of OTR tomorrow. Can't wait to see more PTX reactions.

Arsene, I thought I might be the only person with that opinion. I Saw Three Ships was also magnificent on that i Heart concert. Therei is just something so true to their skills when they sing live and their special energy and connection comes through.

My favorite Pentatonix Christmas song is one that they sang once and once only, while visiting Japan in 2014 or 15. It was called, "Christmas Eve," and was said to have been written by a famous song writer in Japan. What is SO cool is the amazing blending of a jazzy, blue notes on top of a fabulous European musical set. I don't know why they never sang it again, but you get to review it without distractions because it is NOT a PTX official song. Please go check it out. It is AMAZING!

I still think this is the most beautiful, best song they have ever done. They all sang so well, especially Mitch and Scott. I agree that Kevin's beatboxing was so well done also. Superb was a great concluding word for it. Thanks for reacting to it Jacob. By the way, they are also sounding great doing this one live, both in appearances and on tour from the videos I've seen. They're new video for Over the River ft Lindsey Stirling to set to premiere tomorrow at 12pm. I can't wait to see that one. The teaser for it looks interesting and fun.

Congratulations on a spectacular reaction & review. You're the first I'm aware of to mention the "church chords." I know nothing about music at that level, but I recognize those chords from my childhood in the Catholic church. You're also the first I've seen mention that masking transition from Kirsten to Mitch. It's a bit of a surprise because you're led to expect Kirsten to start the song, but there's Mitch and his spectacular voice appearing on the other side of the tree to carry the song!

Saw them in concert about 2 weeks after the HF concert. The prayer is just as stunning live. Evergreen is my favorite, they got a little emotional at the concert, because Kirstie, Mitch and Scott’s mothers were in the audience. Great reaction, I always learn something with your reactions.

I like (besides The Prayer) I Saw Three Ships Written in the 17th Century. Printed in 1833. Thank you for reacting. I always get so much from your analysis because I don't have an ear for all the tech nor have I been trained in music. You have a very sensitive sound capability. Love it! I know PTX is genius in their productions and arrangements and it sounds excellent!

Thanks for the reaction. I just had to laugh at one comment though. 'Romance Language' means it comes from Latin. e.g. Romance as in 'the Romans'. It doesn't have anything to do with Valentine's Day-type romance. But we do culturally put certain European languages on a pedestal, and Italian is one of them. (The Romance Languages are Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Romanian. If you can speak one, you can get about a fifth to a quarter of what someone speaking another is saying.)

Just a little clarification, when you were talking about a plagal “chord“ I think you meant to say plagal cadence. The plagal cadence is where the subdominant chord resolves to the tonic sometimes referred to as the amen cadence.

I LOVE Mitch, but I'd have to say Scott is the most versatile (probably the best). His chest voice is AMAZING here. He can sing bass when Matt does other vocals. I mean, they're all fantastic, but Scott is definitely the most versatile.

My favourites from the album are: I Saw Three Ships because of the clapping, snapping, and stomping. The Prayer because Mitch sounds like an angel and Scott sings in Italian for a section in a lower voice/register. Evergreen because it's an original and the song is a tribute to their mom's and all moms And finally I Just Called to Say I Love You because of the harmonies.
