Those cars are indestructible. I used to drive a 2003 Toyota Avalon and it was such a pleasure to drive, incredibly comfortable. Went well over 300,000 miles until I finally had to sell it because I moved to the mountains. It’s still on the road today as far as I know.

That can last for another 30+ years at this rate if kept out of the extreme sun and salt.

It would have been helpful if you disclosed the engine model. I believe that this is the 1MZ-FE.

Thanks for video! Have you ever had to replace a solenoid in the transmission? harsh shifts consistently with same gear, and all the u-joints are super tight.

Ah, I have one of these. So well holding up inside. The outside and engine is sad to see it's seen some things. 1MZ-FE engine.

Good Job getting that thing out. Now let's see you get it back in. LoL I would like to see the sensor taken apart. Is there any way to test the sensor? I wonder why the part died so soon.

I have exactly this same problem with a '97 es300, though in this case it looks like a packrat got in there and chewed the cable in half, so the sensor itself is probably fine.

Would this cause the vehicle to not go into gear sometimes? Like I can shift the lever into reverse, drive, etc, but when I press the gas it just revs the engine and doesn't move, as if I was still in neutral. But it does it randomly. Sometimes things will still work normally. And I've noticed it's more likely to work again when the weather is cold, when it's hotter its more likely not to work

Hello, I have a 95 Lexus ES300 and today's engine code is P1705 and Autozone says Speed Sensor, which is a different code than yours. Do you think it means the same? How do you feel about an aftermarket part ( Dorner or Duralast) ? Thanks for any help you can offer.
