I love MOST of your videos. You give a great break down to those of us that “know” the game, but don’t REALLY “know” the game. I will say though… in this video I really wish you would have shown a little bit more, because I’m so lost as to how black put himself in the spot where I saw two potential moves I would have made on the board and it cut to you, then it cut back to the board several moves later and most notably black without his queen. I’m trying to figure out what in the world happened in the game play BETWEEN the cut/edit. I may be incorrect, but it feels like there were some important moves or “misplays” that took place. I wasn’t a fan of this short for that reason, but I do appreciate the time and effort you took in making this video. Have a great day brother!

I run a company… I didn’t say I was good at it. I didn’t say it was super successful. I have a wife that I think is beautiful. I will always complement the love of my life. I’m sorry if that upsets you. I didn’t say she was the hottest woman on the planet. I didn’t say anyone should be jealous of me. I have 3 young kids. Anyone that is an actual parent knows it’s by far the best job in the world but it keeps you super busy, especially when they are that young. Having a wife and 3 kids and a job are all things that keep you going. Okay so after black’s Nc3, he is threatening a fork of white’s king and queen if he moves the knight to e2, whilst also getting a discovered attack on white’s rook with his own. I don’t know how exactly it ends up with the position it does but that is the defining moment that gives black an advantage.

Do more competitive activities. One move or action can ruin literally anything from a chess, a video game, a card game, to a literal irl fight.

i got a little story for you: i downloaded chess again after not playing for long and this one game (600 elo) i managed to get smoked, we traded queens but i lost everything and he got back a queen, then he demolished my single past pawn and got a second queen, only my king was left but he looked like he didn't know how to ladder mate and i thought i might lure him into a draw, i went to the left corner and guess what he did... that game ended in a draw and i haven't lost yet

I don't know chess, this was still captivating and interesting.

I think the best move here was to put bishop to D5 instead of B7 attacking the queen and threatening the check at the same time so the queen is forced to take the bishop and now the pawn is free to become a queen

Nihal Sarin is not that kind of opponent. He is one of the best speed chess players in the world, which he proved again in this tournament when he adopted Ding Liren. Hikaru and Magnus are just Hikaru and Magnus

Most decent players would be able to beat Hikaru/Magnus from +6/7 unless they’re playing blitz or aren’t and make a big mistake…

This is midgame, almost endgame. If it was fully endgame, +7 would probably be a win for anyone decent. But Magnus could easily beat someone who’s under 1800 if the +7 was purely a positional advantage in midgame.

Why not Bd5 instead of Bb7?

Why offer the queen trade? The engine says terrible move for white and then white eventually loses. What was the thinking?
