Letting Go of Victim Mentality To Build Emotional Resistance

I experienced a lot of trauma growing up, which led to depression and mental health problems. Getting help for issues someone else seemed to have created can be really difficult, and often leads to a victim mentality.
So many people struggle being stuck in a victim mentality, and not getting the help and support they need to become emotionally resilient and heal.
In this video I talk about my journey from being stuck in the victim mentality to practicing emotional resiliance and becoming a stronger and more flexible person.
Thank you so much for watching 🌺

It’s worth knowing that there is only NOW, the past is gone and can’t be changed, the future hasn’t arrived yet. You can control your life second by second.

I have a victim mentality and can't get out of it 😫😩😔 because I was always put down during my childhood by parents and I can't shake it off (

I don't think shaking it off will work. I think it requires a lot of mental effort and work, love, compassion, and practice to implement this new way of being.

Thanks for the video. I feel at a loss cause I am very depressed and yes I have this victim mentality. It is terrible l. The problem is I can't take antidepressants cause my liver is not healthy and was previously damaged by antibiotics. I have been depressed before but I have never thought that I could be in such a dark emotional place. It feels like I have lost touch with my spirit and am living more like a robot.

That sounds so difficult, I am so sorry to hear that ❤ I actually had to lower my SSRI dosage because of liver problems as well! Have you considered therapy? I could've never learnt all of this by myself!

@@SagaJohannaThank you for your reply. Are you still taking SSRI? I am actually in therapy . It is helpful to a certain degree, my therapist mostly focuses on CBT. Initially I didn't like that approach and had lots of resistance cause I thought it wouldn't work with me. Now I am gradually changing my attitude about cbt, I think it is really helpful especially when practised regularly. Unfortunately it is less effective for dealing with emotional pain and trauma.

@@snipsnupix Yes, I agree. I think DBT or EDMR might be helpful therapies, but I know they are very difficult to find unless you're in a big city or something. I took SSRI for about 4 years on and off, but ultimately decided to quit and would not go back on them after learning more/side effects/feeling numb and much more... I talk about it more in my "how to heal depression" video

What type of therapy have you tried? I'm looking into doing EDMR therapy to help with my C-PTSD from childhood. Thank you for this video.❤

I've done CBT and general talk therapy and assesments, with both counsellors, therapists and psychiatrists. I got the best help from my local crisis response team since they were therapists but specialized in acute crisis - which is when I needed help the most. I think DBT sounds really interesting, but haven't tried it! ❤

I have never had a victim mentality even when i was a kid i got bullied and me being eastern european Macedonian i alway used to be aggressive because when i used to tell my dad about how i got bullied at school and my dad would get angrey at me and so i had to deal with my mental health problems all by myself.
